Kit took the rag gratefully and rubbed at his eyes. "Thank you," he mumbled as he soothed the sting. He blinked up at Westen and smiled.
"The sauce has to thicken, and the pasta is boiling," Kit said as he gestured towards the stove. "While we wait, can you give me the tour?" He blushed, not realizing how eager he sounded until the words left his mouth. "I'd like to get some ideas." He had a general idea of what he wanted: the wallpaper taken down, new rugs, simple and warm furnishings instead of the vintage, intricate designs. But anything outside of that, Kit needed some direction.
And he knew that standing in the kitchen waiting for the food would mean he'd have to come up with more things to say. He was running out of words, at least for that topic, and he didn't want Westen to think he was being rude.

"No problem." Westen grinned, ignoring the brushing of their hands if it happened. If it didn't, he still went about the same way he would have if they did.
"Oh, yeah, sure. What did you have in mind? Most of what I have is modern- actually all of it. I like the simplistic style and the bold and easy directions of it. I could help you, if you want. Once you have what you want in mind, that is. I love decorating.
Westen led him back to the living room and then to the dinning room, the hall, the two bathrooms, the guest bedroom and his own bedroom. Of course, they were all dark colours with red mixed in and everything was modern and simple. Trinkets and family heirlooms and priceless pictures were strewn about the house.
Westen waited for Kit to mention anything that he liked before he said anything about his own house- he didn't want to be conceded and actually didn't mind the silence.
