Calix finished making the pancake and turned to Erisanna, his brows pulling together and a sheen of tears glistening over his own eyes. Pressing his lips tightly together, Calix stepped over to over to her, and stepped behind her so he could capture her in his arms and press his lips to her ear. Then, he whispered, "Thank you, thank you so much, Erisanna. Thank you for being here for me, and not letting me drown..."
Letting go of her, he handed Drexel his plate, and then grabbed his tea and own plate. "I-If you guys wanted, we could go back to the room and eat at the little table in there. Then Drexel and I can figure out how to much the tv into the tent, and then we can watch some movies."
Pausing, Drexel glanced over at Khalida. "Well, do you want to? Or has this little bird socialized too much and needs to recharge?" A smirk twitched his lips.
(THEY ARE SO CUTE AND SO SAD...)

[SKIP] Seraphina, hand in hand with Rucian, walked with him through the house. Still not used to being out of her room, it was a bit odd. Not that it wasn't welcome, however. If there was anything Seraphina hated most about what had happened, it was the fact that she had stayed in her room. Unable to face everyone all together, it was difficult to bring herself outside the door. But now, with the promise of trying to seeing Calix, she had ventured out. Her head rested against Rucian's shoulder tenderly, clinging to him for support. It had been a nice and quiet morning so far- but Calix was the only one she hadn't seen. He hadn't come to see her- and judging by the word she got from Khalida and Drexel, he hadn't even left his room. Sadness washed under her skin as she frowned. The door came into view and she glanced at Rucian, who gave the most gentle smile she'd ever seen him give and motioned toward the door. Without hesitation, Seraphina knocked on the door, her knuckles hitting the door with a light tap echoing. (THEY ARE.... ;~

Perhaps Calix crouched inside the fort, hiding among the many lines of blankets created, sneaking around. His eyes flickered back and forth, a smirk twitching his lips as he made his way quietly around. Then, he found what he was looking for: Erisanna.
Like a cat, he crouched and his tail twitched. Then, he sprung forward and tried to catch her in his arm, blowing air into her neck, letting out a small chuckle. "The evil overlord has captured the queen! Now you're forced to marry me..."
Calix's eyes looked into hers, and a smile spread across his lips.
And then there was a knock. His eyebrows pushed up. "Do you think Drexel and Khalida are back to watch movies?"
He slid off of her and out of the hut, limping slightly towards the door. Opening the door, he peeked out and his heart nearly just dropped to the floor. That wasn't who he thought. His eyes widened and he slammed the door shut again, his heart swelling, splitting, and breaking.
Tears filled his eyes and he clenched his teeth, quickly locking the door.
Why were they there?
Why now?
Tears filled his eyes and he leaned his forehead against the door. Taking in a deep breath, he squeezed his hands tightly and wrapped his arms around himself, swallowing a sob. "What do you want?" Calix's voice shook, and then anger built in his throat and he shook his head.

Erisanna squealed with delight, kicking and gigglin as he did such. "Oh nooooo! I will be forced to clean your dirty laundry! Noooooo!" She played along and laughed, her eyes closing as she tucked herself into his arms.
"I hope so! I found a bunch more movies!" Erisanna called back, her fingers perhaps rolling over and following him out of the hut.
When he slammed the door, her eyebrows furrowed. "Who is it?" She whispered, confused.
Rucian, who had been about to say something, stopped and glanced at the now shut door- then to Seraphina.
Seraphina, just as confused, opened her mouth to speak. "To see you and Erisanna?"
Why else would they be here?
You know, it wasn't their house or anything.
"Calix..are you alright?" Rucian asked, his voice misted with concern.
What in te skies name was going on...?
Erisanna, upon hearing and knowing who it was, looked up to Calix- even more confused.
What was happening? Did he not want to see them?

His fingers cut into his skin from squeezing his hands too tightly. Finally, tears sprouted from his eyes and he let out a miserable sound and tried to hold it down. Conflicting emotions suddenly shot through him and slammed into him. Anger finally won over. "Who told you to come?" Calix's voice cracked and he glanced at the door. "When Drexel came to see you?"
More tears slipped out of his eyes and he let out a shaky breath, frustration building up in my. "I have no right to be angry with you..." He pressed his face to the door. "You're my ruler, and a royal. I have no right to think of you other than that. I have no right to even expect anything."
A sorrowful noise was made in the back of his throat. "I'm nothing to you. I'm a just a subject... expendable."
Taking a step away, he stared at the door. "And even if you could do anything, you were... unable to." His voice came out a small whisper. "So feel free to go back to your room and continue not caring about me."
That was a very childish, and teenage thing to say, but he couldn't help his anger. Twisting on his feet, he began to limp away, wanting to hide in their fort. Under a ton of covers.

Seraphina furrowed her brows- her hand still clutching Rucian's. "No, no one told is to- Calix-!" she stopped, her face growing angry. How dare he say such a thing!
Expendable?
Not airing about him?
For gods sakes that not was blind!
"Calix-" she behave but Rucian placed his free hand in her shoulder and shook his head.
"Calix," Rucian spoke calmly, his green eyes landing on the door. "How do you know that if you won't even speak to me?"
Erisanna frowned and wanted to reach for Calix- but was unsure. How...why was he sad? He still hadn't told her what happened.
"Please open the door, Calix." Rucian knocked again, his voice light and calming- a sincere tone to it.

Calix paused and glanced back at the door. His eyes flickered up at Erisanna. He couldn't face them after saying something like that, but he couldn't ignore a direct request from the king. Frozen where he was, he looked into her eyes and swallowed. Tears leaked from his eyes and he slowly turned to the door, limping over to it.
With a shaky hand, he slowly pulled it open and kept his head down. He turned from them and limped. "I'm sorry..." Calix whispered. And he slipped into the fort because he still felt childish and couldn't face them.
He hid under the blankets and let his tears go, and he curled up. Like a little bitch.
Cloudy is so sorry.

Erisanna, unfortunately, was of no help to Calix at this moment. She wasn't sure which side to abide by- she had known Calix more than the others- but the others were royals. Did she just ignore them?
Well...It shouldn't matter that they were royals and upon deciding this, Erisanna hadn't moved to open the door.
Rucian, upon seeing Calix look so broken and then limping, did the most unkingly thing he could possibly ever do.
He crawled in after him.
If he could, his arms found Calix and lifted him into a hug- doing his best to comfort this little broken, sweet, precious baby. Not that Rucian had the words Seraphina did but he'd be damned if he didn't try his hardest to be there with a comfortable silence.
"Calix...You are not expendable." Rucian whispered, "I care about you- as if you were a member of my family. Even in the short time I have come to know you...I care for you, Calix." he murmured and rested his head above Calix's, his hair long and flowing, a large curtain fanning out against the floor.
Seraphina, who had crawled in after Rucian, sat by Calix with a small smile, her hands folded into her lap.
Rucian had been the most eager to see Calix- and she knew he had truly developed parental feelings toward the young Verengeith- but the moment still shattered her hearts into tiny pieces.
Erisanna, wanting in on this hugging action, crawled selfishly into Seraphina's arms and clung to her, her bright blue eyes watching Calix and Rucian with interest.
They honestly seemed like a father and his son...

As soon as Calix felt arms around him, sobs let him and he turned to push his face into Rucian's chest, to muffle them. He clutched tightly onto Rucian's clothing, unable to hold in his childish whimpers. The king's words didn't help, and while his mouth had been incapacitated by tears, his tail wrapped around Rucian's leg. "I'm sorry," Calix whispered through his tears, his childish sounds quieting. "I'm so sorry..."
"I-I was so scared," he whispered. "I was so scared and there was nothing I could to..." Calix pulled himself closer to Rucian and reached up, slowly wiping his tears, but they kept sneaking out of his eyes. "I'm still so scared... I'm scared..."
There were all his questions answered. Rucian cared for him, and even came after him...
Gods... he was such a lousy idiot.
He wished he could build up the confidence to say something, to say that he cared about Rucian too, or that he saw Rucian as a father, but he felt so selfish for his earlier words he felt as if they would sound childish and useless now.

Rucian couldn't help but frown at Calix's tears- and his words, they were crushing. The emotion so clearly displayed on his face...
It was saddening.
"I know...I'm sorry.." he whispered. They were words he had spoken not too long ago but now saying them to someone else and them having a different meaning- as words always did when said to different people- Rucian found himself feeling guilty all over again. "He's not going to get you again...I promise you that."
And Rucian meant this. Never again would Rorik touch those he loved- in fact, he'd already sent out a demand for Rorik. Anyone who knew or saw anything would be brought here and questioned- and if they got Rorik himself, well..
He may not leave alive.
Even if Rucian had been known for his mercy. This...Soiling the love of his life, his friends and now the one he felt a fatherly love for?
Rorik must have been out of his mind.
Or trying to prove a point.
Nonetheless- he'd succeeded in upsetting Rucian. The lion was finally awake now and hungry for blood.
But in this moment he comforted Calix, shushing his cries and attempting to ease his fears.
