"Of course I don't understand, Imani! I don't know you! And you don't tell me anything!" She wanted to stand but despite the situation, she found comfort in Amadi lightly leaning against her. Shetani dropped her anger, he tone softening because yelling wasn't going to solve anything, no matter how much she wanted to. "Imani, I'm not trying to belittle you. I'm trying to make sure you stay safe. You seeing things? I didn't know that. But if you know you can take care of yourself, then why am I always afraid the guards will bring back your broken mangled corpse? If you think you can handle yourself, why is everyone always worried about where you run off to? Imani, I just want to understand. Why did you let me drown in something I wasn't supposed to do if you can take care of yourself?"

Imani let out a long sigh and ran her fingers through her short hair, messing it up. After a few moments of wallowing in her frustration, she dropped her hands to look at Shetani. "Because I can't take care of an entire tribe. Not anymore. Shetani," Imani stepped over to her sister before hesitating. Lightly, she placed a hand on her sister's head and looked down at her. "I see things that aren't there. I used to be able to control…" Her voice shook and she took back her hand. "I could control it and act normal. I can't anymore. I'm not strong… Not anymore." Her eyes were full of sorrow as she watched her sister. "I'm sorry…" Imani paced away from Shetani again, reaching up under her mask to get rid of her tears. "I-It's… It's really hard to talk about it. I know that's not a good answer, but it's all I can give you " She felt too many emotions--guilt, fear, sorrow--to really discern any of them. "I'm sorry..."
