(I AM GOD)
(XDDD)
In response to Annabelle, the lynx snorted and turned his head away from her. Ain't no one gettin' past me. She's a wolf, Chance. And she had this weird look on her face. Will you tell her I'm not just a cat? I'm a prince. I'm a king! Tell her I'm the mighty ruler of cats everywhere! I am not a cat. I am lynx. The only response Jax got was a snort.
Relief filled him when he saw their familiar faces following after him. His eyes locked on Annabelle when he noticed her deepened scowl, instead of continuing forward, he moved to step beside her. For a moment, he was going to put his hand on her shoulder, yet he decided not to. Something told Chance that it would set her off, plus he wasn't one to be all touchy and feel-y with people. "Do you know him?"
With a last minute pause, Chance felt amusement filter into his face, "And Jax says he's not a cat, he's a lynx."
Perhaps, while Annabelle was answering or not, Chance turned and continued his pace, trying to stay in ear range of her as he continued down the trail. His eyes flickered towards Mimi, "Does Damos know the scent? Is there any way he could track it, Mimi?" His eyes fell forward as he watched the crowds.

Her brown gaze flickered to Chance. She opened her mouth to answer him, but stopped. It could have just been her imagination right? There's no way that the group she was thinking of could possibly be the same one this man belonged to. But he smelled so similar. She sighed. "It's possible." She glanced at Mimi and Damos as they weaved through the crowd. "If this is headed where I think it is, you may want to tell the little girl to stay low." Annabelle mirrored his amusement and a smile softened her features. She chuckled, amused that her comment bothered the lynx so much. "Aw, does kitty not like to made fun of?" Mimi glanced over her shoulder as Chance approached. "He caught a scent, but he said it's really strange. He can't really tell what it is, but it's strong enough to follow." She leaned closer to him, keeping her voice low. "He also says, that he noticed Annabelle smells a bit like them. The scent is very stale on her, but it's similar to the one we're following. What do you think it means?" (Gonna add in the baddies ) "Well? Did she see you or not?" A man with golden eyes approached the thief. He grabbed the edges of his overcoat, resting his thumbs in the inner pockets. "I told you, that we needed to give her reason to leave that damn shop; bring her into the open. If she didn't see you, our plan has failed." He fingered a small pistol loaded with silver bullets in his pocket. "The werewolf is not here, but you are. You do remember how the SilverBacks deal with failure, don't you?"

A smirk hooked the corner of Chance's smirk at Annabelle's snide comment. "No. I really wouldn't upset him, especially not about his legs. He's abusive." Altaira... she's even more beautiful when she smiles. With a soft pink to his cheeks, Chance saved the image to memory, it would be one of the few things that he chooses to never forget. Her first comments had him a bit worried, upon approaching Mimi, he stepped closer to her and analyzed her words. The amusement fell from his face as he began to think. "Alright," he spoke quietly. "I want you and Damos to be..."
His voice died away as thoughts prickled him. Pausing, he turned to watch Annabelle, closely. In one of his "solving" moods, he didn't really register that he was staring at her. Carefully, his thumbs ran over his cards. "Hmm..." he switched out his cards, thinking as he replaced the queen and ace with a two of spades and a five of diamonds. "Mimi," he spoke quietly, to her only, "I think that if they smell the same, they might be the same race. Is that possible? Maybe not. Or, because they could be working together, but that would be way too complex, and I don't have too many enemies."
Then, a smirk tickled his lips, "Never mind. I forgot about my card playing days. I have a lot of enemies, but none that are this smart. This leads me to think that if she has some familiarity with this man, he could be a past customer and comes often, but the look on her face says otherwise. I am lead to think that they could be... looking for revenge. What better to draw someone out than a thief? The only problem with that would be that the thief didn't catch her attention in the least, so that leads me to think that it is a past customer." Now Chance tore his gaze from Mimi, softening up. He reached forward and wrapped his arms around her. "Be safe, Mimi. I want you to stay close to the ground and out of danger. If there is gun shots or anything else and I'm down, I want you to run, okay?"
With a pause, Chance glanced up at Annabelle too, "Be safe, okay? If anything happens to me and there isn't a way to handle it, run. I can hide myself till help comes, if it is needed." With that, he patted Damos' head and turned to continue down the trail.
(Mmmmmkaayyyy xD)
The man whitened in fear, he quickly jiggled the bag, "Look! Look sir! I-I d-d-did it! I stole lots! O'course she h-had t-tah of seen me! I even r-ran into th-this stupid man! She has tah be o-on my trail now!" He licked his chapped lips in fear, letting out a shaky breath. "D-Don't worry." The whimp even started to have watery eyes. Even if he showed all of this confidence, fear hit him hard in the chest and quickened his heart. Sweat climbed on his forehead and gathered on his palms.

"I don't know about them being the same race, but they do have a similar smell to them. But if they were friends, I don't think she'd be acting like this." She mirrored his look as she worked the problem out too. "I think it might be safer to say that they knew each other. That much I think is true, but how they relate to one another I couldn't say." She glanced up at Chance with a smile. "Did I do good? Am I as good as Big Brother now?"
The crowd is thinning, you think we're getting close? Damos felt Mimi tighten her grip on his fur. He hadn't caught whatever Chance had said to Mimi, he had been far more interested in strange smells. Mimi, talk to me. What's wrong?
Mimi fingered the container of lavender, keeping her eyes glued ahead of her. She returned Chance's hug, breathing in his familiar scent to calm her. She couldn't remember the last time they had done something this dangerous. Helping strangers in need of assistance and risking their own lives. It sounded a lot more like when they had first met, and yet everything was so different now. There was a lot more at stake than the first time. Before they were simple strangers returning a little girl to her family, now here they were hunting down a thief for some woman they barely knew, or liked for that matter.
She would have liked to argue, but she knew it was pointless. Mimi knew how Chance got when it came to her safety. As much as she didn't like the idea of leaving him, she knew it would be better to go for help instead. She sighed, nodding her head. She glanced up at Annabelle, hopefully with her there things wouldn't go south.
Annabelle felt eyes staring at her and deliberately looked away. What is with these two? They act like they've never seen another woman, let alone a wolf. She felt her cheeks redden at the extra attention. "Why not take a picture, Pretty Boy? It lasts longer." She moved past the three of them and took the lead. She had a faint idea of where to go, but she really just needed her space. Especially after she heard Chance voicing his concerns about her safety. All this attention was chocking her of her air. She just wasn't used to it, nor did she quite welcome the attention. "Don't worry about me, just keep the girl safe. And don't you die either, Ace. She needs someone to go back to after this is done."
The man remained passive, merely staring the thief down. "For your sack I would hope so." He leapt down from his makeshift throne. Dust erupted from around him as he landed, his powerful muscles supporting his massive frame. "Arthis! It seems you have a chance to redeem yourself." He stepped toward a younger man. His one silver eye reflected the younger man's image. "And this time, you better hope to Altaira you don't foul this job up. Not only will we stripe you of the your heritage, but you will also be thrown out of the family guild. The Akuma will be the least of your worries after we're through with you, boy. Am I understood?"
((I don't know if you want to control Arthis, but if you do you can. FYI: He's a bit disturbed, as in he enjoys torture.))

Laughter passed through Chance's lips. "You are learning very well. Soon we will be the best detectives this world has to offer." He smiled and moved to continue on the path, his own eyes turned darker as thoughts stormed just below the surface of them. Past memories kept bugging him, little slips of couples. He once caught a drunk couple getting it on in his room when he was younger, that's the closest that he has ever been to sex, not to even mention a kiss. Perhaps it should be embarrassing to admit that he has never had a girlfriend, but he didn't care. All of his life he's never given it a second thought. Girls, or just people in general, were interesting subjects to watch from afar.
It wasn't as of he put himself higher than everyone, he just put himself as an outside observer. To his own loneliness, he realized that he would always be outside looking in. For a few moments, his eyes strayed to Mimi. Didn't she break the barrier though? Didn't she step outside and pull him in? No. No, she didn't do that. Nor did she stay outside with him. What she did do was create a bridge from the outside to in, and she traverses the bridge frequently and is always open. This bridge is open to anyone, Chance realized, who would be willing to traverse it.
Annabelle's comment about a picture made him smirk, "Please," he couldn't help himself, "my memory is far better than any shabby camera." Glancing over at Mimi one last time, he quickened his pace to follow Annabelle. To "Ace", he was about to open his mouth and correct. Then he realized that it was a nickname to his nickname. His mouth closed. The nickname caused a softer smile to trigger on his lips, but he quickly wiped it away and followed behind her.
Not before long, he noticed that they were approaching what might be the building, Moon can describe it, Cloudy has no idear. "Annabelle," Chance said quietly, reaching to stop her. All he did was tap her shoulder, he knew better than to grip onto her; something told him that wouldn't be a smart idea. He turned and waved Mimi closer. If they got closer, he lifted his hand and created some sort of shield. The shield bent the light around them, giving them an illusion that caused invisibility. "Alright, Annabelle, do you know them?" He whispered quietly.
(Iwilltry dkdkskaj)
Arthis watched the power man without flinching. His chin held high, he took a deep breath and nodded. Afraid? No. He was excited. This was his last chance, (Ba dum dum chh) and he wouldn't mess it up. At a far away glance, he might seem like an average person, but at a closer look, someone might be able to see the slight shine of abnormality in his eyes. "You won't be disappointed, sir." His feet shuffled a tad as he fought to keep his face placid.

Mimi felt a smile tug at her lips in an effort to suppress her giggle. "Yeah, the best." She glanced up at the building that sat alone at the end of the docks. She frowned. A lone building at the end of a long uncrowded dock? It's just begging for trouble.
The quiet sound of laughter rolled in Damos' throat. At one point you would have welcomed the chance to explored something like that? What happened hm? Where did my little naive pup go?
Again Mimi smiled, lightly shoving her partner. She grew up you old badger. Man you keep acting like that and I'll be a preteen behaving like an eighty year old. She made a face as if to prove her point. The pair was quick to sober up, however, when they noticed the particularly large group of thuggish men roaming the perimeter of the building. More were scattered about the hull of the boat parked close to the dock. Mimi swallowed thickly and moved closer to Chance, drawing comfort from his presence. "There's so many of them. How are we going to get past them without being see?"
A small gasp escaped Annabelle as the light began to bend around them. She was quick to compose herself, however, and glanced back at the trio behind her. She watched the exchange between Mimi and Damos, taking mental notes. She knew the girl was nervous from her cautious movements. She turned back to survey the scene. Mimi was right, there were far too many of them to take them all on. Her famous frown returned as she began to work out a plan.
Chance's question halted her train of thought, causing her to turn to him. She paused sniffing the air. Her brow dipped even more when the tangy smell of the ocean assailed her most trusted sense. "I....I don't know. I can't really tell with the ocean. It's too strong of a scent to decipher anything." A voice caught her attention and she froze, her lips involuntarily folding into a snarl. "However, that is one voice I can not forget." Her brown eyes darted about the docks, searching for the source. Instead she found them a way in. "Come on, I see a way in. Stay low and keep moving." Without another word she moved off toward the far left side of the docks.
Mimi glanced up at Chance before moving to follow Annabelle. "I sure hope she knows what she's doing."
The man flexed his muscles. "I better not be, whelp." The towering man began to move away, barking orders at the underlings. "Let's move maggots! I want this place ready for that shipment to come in!" He turned to the nearest two grunts. "You two! Make another sweep, I want to make sure everything is in place and that this plan goes smoothly. Remember, capture the girl, kill her if she resists, and clean up before the shipment with the lab equipment comes in."

It was always to watch Mimi and Damos exchange a quiet conversation that he would never hear. Though, after so much time with Mimi and Damos, he basically guess what words were exchanged. The group of large men made him feel a tad bit inferior. But he had to admit that he's never been a "tough guy" and always avoided anything like exercise or violence, before Mimi.
And now, here he was, risking his life for a girl that didn't show too much hospitality. He knew better than to let his emotions run amok, only because Mimi was close and would be able to feel his nerves. The last thing that he would want to do is make Mimi more afraid than she already was.
"Don't sweat it. Annabelle? If this is personal... don't... well, be careful, okay? I'm here to catch a thief, not to clean up a dead body." He moved swiftly after her, his long legs moving into as much grace as his lynx counterpart. His eyes counted the guards, putting each into memory. "Even if we get inside... there might be more inside. And once we cause a ruckus, who is to say they won't come rushing in?"
Voicing his concerns out loud wasn't for Mimi's sake, it was for Annabelle. He wanted her to realize that it wasn't just her life that she was risking. Jax? How is everything? In response, he got a mental picture of Jax lazing in the shop, all snug and warm. Chance snorted, but the picture eased his worries.
His eyes flicked back at Mimi, "Yeah, me too."
The two grunts jumped at the attention of the large man. "Y-Yes! Yes sir!" He nodded his head nervously and turned moving to do another sweep. His partner stared into space until he slapped the back of his head and the two slipped away from the large man's scary stare.
Arthis smirked to himself, watching the ground. I'll see you again...

Again she turned to him, this time her scowl aimed at him. "Look, I'm not stupid enough to involve you two in past sob stories. But the only logical place they'd put my stolen goods is in the cellar. That voice told me exactly who we're dealing with. I know these idiots and how they work." She paused, resting her back against a box. She peeked over the top, judging their distance.
Mimi made sure to stay right on Chance's heels. She didn't want to stray too far now that they had gotten this close, it was far too dangerous for a mistake. She felt Damos beside her. The fur along his spine stood on end. Damos what is it?
Something isn't right. This is too easy. I know we have Chance working to shield us from their eyes, and Annabelle is easily maneuvering us through the guards, but I swear every time a guard gets close, they turn the other way. As if on que a guard on their left quickly shuffled out of their way. See?
Mimi followed his gaze, watching the guard move away. A small frown pursed her lips. You're right... She turned to Chance, tugging on his jacket (Or whatever he has on DX). "Damos says, something isn't right."
"Not to interrupt you two back there..." Annabelle felt herself backing toward Chance, a snarl building in her throat. "But I think we're about to have company."
(Sorry it's lame, I didn't know how to start the action DX)

(No no is okay! I was over at my sister's ;~ Chance immediately stepped forward as soon as Annabelle stepped back. In his hands, he held his cards, his eyes narrowed. Two figures came into view, heading towards them. One had a lanky body, stubborn chin and charcoal-like eyes. The other had a thicker body, bear belly and thick, muscular arms. Well damn, both of them are more muscular than me. Jax's mental laughter echoed in his head, he ignored it and focused on the two towering men. "Well, well well..." the lanky one sneered. "Who do we have here?" "Two girls, a boy and a wolf," the fat one answered. "I can think of two I'd prefer not to see and two I'd have in bed." He smirked and winked at Mimi. "Ah, well, I know I am charming gentlemen," Chance dipped his head to them. "But I can assure you I'm straight. I didn't know you were into bestiality though, kind of is a turn off for me. How about this, you walk away, let us get her goods back, and everyone will be out of your hair." "Hey, hey, Dyl? She wasn't suppose to come with more people," the fat one glanced at the lanky one. "Well, yeah? Orders are orders, Owen. Just come with us, and we won't shoot your brains out." Dyl lifted two guns pointed at the two of them. "Or I shoot the little girl in the head." (Ish all gooood~ X3)
Damos moved beside Chance, his hackles making him appear larger than he already was. A vicious snarl rumbled deep in his chest. If he could talk, he'd be exchanging a few choice words with the men. Instead, he had to settle for a snarl and saliva dripping from his gaping jaws, which he wouldn't have minded sinking into the man's face or throat. Whichever came first was sure to be mauled. Mimi get back.
She didn't have to be told twice, she had already hidden herself behind Chance. She was trying to make herself as small as possible. The vibes that rolled off the men were terrifyingly similar to the monster that haunted the darkest recesses of her mind. She whimpered, on the verge of tears from the onslaught of emotions. Fear of what she was sure the men wanted to do with her, fury that was not her own, and the sicking nausea that surfaced from her memories. Mimi felt her body begin to shake as her muscles rooted her in place.
Annabelle's own growl rolled in her chest. Though hers was more beastly, more feral than Damos' own warning. She could feel the beast inside her, rattle against its binds. Despite its weakened state it was still a force to be reckoned with. And she was all too happy to let it out. However, exposure here was far too risky. With all the guards about and no knowledge of where the goods or Arthis was, they were just as blind as they were going in.
Then she felt shivering beside her. She glanced to her right, watching Mimi break down before her very eyes. She glared up at the men, focusing on the guns. Probably loaded with those stupid silver bullets. Not deadly, but still painful. Her brow dipped even lower. She felt herself moving toward Mimi. Her arms wrapped themselves around the smaller girl, protectively. Regardless of her previous attitude, she would not sit idly by as these abominable men sexually harassed a girl, much less a child. "I suggest you pigheads leave the girl out of this. Me you can have, but you leave the girl."
