The massaging felt good, so good that he had to hold back a chuff. He shook out his fur and immediately shot after them. Hunting with someone else was new, which meant that he had no idea what to do. He did admite the way Mimi and Damos moved, but it only made sense because they shared the same mind. He opened his senses and shut down his thoughts. Quickly, he sprung through the forest. All sorts of smells tickled his nose. Pure freedom warmed his muscles, and he felt like he was flying.
This is what everyone was missing. They didn't understand what it felt like to fly through the forest, to have their claws rip through the dirt, but to be as quiet as the wind. He caught the faint scent of deer, and had lost track of Mimi and Damos. Springing over a fallen log, he made his way down the trail. As the scent became more fresh, he slowed down and made sure to be silent.
Sometimes he practiced the art of sneaking by sneaking up to wildlife and watching it. He came up to a small clearing and crouched. A small group of deer gathered in the meadow. He caught the site of a few doe and forgot about his hunger. It was foolish, but he couldn't kill the babies. Nor could he kill the mothers, so it left him weak-hearted and hungry. Instead of bombarding on the scene, he gently laid down and set his head. Maybe Mimi had a better stomach on killing things.

The pair had moved silently through the forest, trying to flank the herd of deer they had stumbled upon. Normally Mimi had no qualms with hunting doe and their offspring, but today was different. She did not feel quite as feral. Not to mention that she was sure neither a doe nor her offspring would truly fill her. Instead she eyed the younger bucks, the ones not quite adults and yet not quite children either. Her orange eyes scanned the herd looking for the perfect prey. It came in the form of a young buck, one of his knees bent slightly the wrong way. Mimi was sure that a previous fall had ruined his leg. She gestured to Damos, indicating which deer was the weakest and slide off his back. I'll give the signal, then you scatter them. With that she melted into the underbrush.
Once she was situated in line with the buck she signaled to Damos. He burst from the trees, teeth gleaming and his hackles raised. Startled the herd bolted, all moving together as one unit. Mimi rushed from her place, forcing her target and a few other deer to break off from the herd. Damos closed in from the side and with Mimi's help they surrounded the buck. Normally, there would have been a large amount of wolves that would hunt together, but Mimi and Damos had perfected a way to hunt with even the fewest number of hunters. Despite their perfection, there was still great danger in hunting with only two.
Though the buck was not quite an adult, its horns were still quite formidable. Angered and desperate, the buck lashed out nearly clipping Damos on his side. Seizing her opportunity Mimi leapt at the creature. However, the buck was quicker and succeeded in slicing open her arm. Mimi rolled to one side and readied her knife, waiting for the buck to charge. Damos stood ready to tackle the beast away, should the buck dare to charge.

(please excuse any powerplaying //sobs)
When Zachariah saw Mimi and Damos, he came up to a crouch. His muscles tensed and he watched them. Panic shot through him when he saw both Damos and Mimi tear skin on the buck's horns. Without much thought, he sprung from the bush and shot towards them.
He felt like he was flying as he ran. Adrenaline shot through him as he cut between Damos and sprung at the buck. The animal twisted to try and escape, but Zachariah managed to catch his leg, and his jaws caught the buck's neck. Granted, he never would have been able to do this so quickly if Damos and Mimi hadn't stopped the animal.
He felt his jaws slip, but he and the buck collapsed to the ground, him in top. Zachariah breathed heavily as the buck tried to get up from underneath him.
Cloudy apologizes.

(It's fiiiiine~ No worries, either of us controlling the buck doesn't matter. He's gonna be dinner anyway XDD)
Damos lunged at the buck and sunk his teeth into the back of the buck's neck, avoiding the thrashing buck's antlers. He used his stance to prevent the buck from breaking away. The more the buck struggled the deeper Damos' teeth went. As the thrashing died down Damos loosened his grip. He glanced at Mimi, concern clear in his eyes. Mimi you're wounded. Is it bad?
Mimi straightened up and glanced at her arm. She frowned, not able to get a clear view of the damage. From what she could feel it may have only been a flesh wound. Don't worry, I think it's only a flesh wound. It doesn't sting that badly. She made her way over to the pair and bent over the belly of the buck. With a grunt she sank her knife into the buck and began to carve up the meat. "Thanks for the help, Zach. I didn't think this guy would be that difficult to kill, with his leg being all crooked." She chuckled at her miscalculation. "My mistake, I guess I'm out of practice."
Damos trotted over to her side and began to tear into the raw meat. Mimi made a face at him and he flicked her with his tail. What? I'm eating for the both of us. He paused in his eating to look at her.
No, you're going to make me sick is more like it you jerk. She playfully shoved him away. Oh move over, you old mutt! Us regular people would like to eat this stuff cooked. Despite herself, she cut off a tiny piece and bit into the meat. She definitely preferred cooked meat over raw. She turned to Zachariah. "I dunno if you want to eat this stuff raw or not, but I'm going to cut this up so we can at least have leftovers."

Zachariah sat off to the side and began to rigorous process of straightening out his fur. He didn't think much of licking himself till he felt Mimi's eyes on him. Pausing mid-stroke on his stretched out leg, he glanced up at her, and then his body shifted into human and he stretched. "Oh, well, I think if I eat it raw, I have to stay as a tiger for a while, or I get sick if I transform because my stomach can't digest it as a human." He rolled back into the grass and closed his eyes, a small smile flicking onto his lips.
He then stretched his hands up and onto the grass, and dug his heels into the ground. And then he thrust his hips up and stretched. A groan filled the back of his throat and twisted his knees to the side before he collapsed. "I promise I won't be as lazy in the future, it's just so easy to not do things when everyone else does them for you." He laid his head on his arm and smiled up at Mimi and then Damos.
"I prefer to sneak up on them, quiet, and then pounce on them the second they're least expecting it. All lazy like," Zachariah smiled and closed his eyes.

Mimi giggled, focusing on her work. "Must be a cat thing." She wiped her brow but only succeeded in smearing both hers and the buck's blood across her face. She set her knife aside and reached down to grab a handful of dirt, which she proceeded to wipe across her arm. Despite her minimal medical care, the wound continued to bleed. She rolled her eyes and ignored the small annoyance, losing a little blood wasn't going to kill her. She continued to work on separating the buck's pelt from the meat. "Usually Damos and I only hunt herd animals so we never get the chance to sneak up on them. One mistake, and the whole herd will scatter. If either of us aren't in position to ambush a member then we lose a meal." She shrugged her shoulders and glanced over at him. "Maybe you could show us how to hunt like that. It seems easier and a lot less dangerous."
A smile touched her lips. "Don't worry about it, Zach. You just don't hunt the same way. I get it." She finally succeeded in cutting away the buck's pelt. She eased the skin from under the buck's body and set it aside. She eyed it carefully, trying to figure out exactly how she could make a bag out of it so that she could carry the rest of the meat.
With a sigh she turned back to the buck and began to carve out the meat. She signaled Damos over and motioned for him to place the meat on the pelt. "We might have to drag all this back to the campfire. I didn't bring anything to cook this with."

Zachariah moved over to Mimi, wincing at her cut, and slightly at his guilt because he forgot about it. A frown lifted his lips when he watched her put dirt on it. Without thinking much, he tore the a piece off of his shirt and then tied it tightly around her arm, if he could. "It could be a cat thing. My way is dangerous too. If my prey spots me before I'm close enough, it can get away, which is really annoying."
He then decided to help. "I don't mind helping you guys carry it back." Reaching forward, he went to help with putting the meat back onto the pelt. "Damos, when we get back I have something for you. And you too, Mimi. I can help you with your wounds."

Mimi paused in her movements to watch him bind her wound. She smiled gratefully at him and leaned over to give him a peck on the cheek. "Well, I suppose either way is dangerous. Hunting is risky business. But with rewards like this," She gestured to the massive amount of meat that was from the buck. "I'd say it's worth it."
She raised an eyebrow at him. "Oh? Is that so? Well then I guess we should hurry up then." She stood and touched his shoulder affectionately as she passed, making sure not to bloody his shirt. She walked over to one end of the pelt and reached down to grab an end.

Standing, he grabbed his end of the pelt and then slowly started to drag it back towards their camp. A blush had worked its way onto his cheeks ever since her kiss. A part of him wondered if he would ever get use to the fact that they were dating. He felt childish and giddy, but tried to keep himself composed.
"I agree." His stomach pinched in hunger and his teal eyes watched the carcass, pupils thinning. "What if," he breathed, "there was an ability... with two partners where when one is an animal, the other is a human, and when one transforms, the other does?" Zachariah smirked. "I wonder what you would look like as a wolf. Or what Damos would look like as a man."

"You know, I never really gave it much thought." Mimi tilted her head to one side as she thought about it. Most likely she'd look somewhat identical to Damos, seeing as they were, in a sense, the same person. Her eyebrows pinched together. No, she was sure they'd be different, despite them sharing one mind they both physically appeared different. She imagined herself with rich dark brown fur and red undertones. Her belly would be a combination between chocolate and red and she'd have black fur covering her backside. Oddly enough she also envisioned herself with a white nape right between her shoulder blades, loosely related to her white shawl no doubt. "It'd be interesting to know." She glanced down at Damos trying to envision him as a man. "Actually I knew a member of my tribe who could sort of do that. He could transform into a wolf and his partner looked like a much bigger version of him when he was transformed. But his partner couldn't transform into a woman, so I guess it's not quite the same."
She spied their camp between the trees and sighed with relief. To her it was as good a home as any and it felt even more so with Zachariah there too. "What about you? Have you ever thought of yourself as being another race?" She leaned closer to him. "What if you had a little partner too? I bet he or she would be cute. Just like you are." She smiled warmly at him and walked over to lake to clean off her hands.
(I just realized that would be a really cool RP too~)
