Kendall broke Sumner's resolve and a grin, probably similar to Percy's, wrapped around his lips. "Alright, alright, Kendall. Crooner? So you guys must have last names that are your occupation, right?" He pulled his hand away and he dipped his head to Kendall. "I'm sorry to hear about that (boy/girl) you sang for. There have been people I haven't been able to save. The first one was actually my best friend."
"Dad," Percy said carefully.
"I know, it was our own fault, though. It's obvious that our two races have been battling for quite some time, of course we would have known some casualties." Sumner shrugged and leaned back. "We should go back, Percy, you're practically falling asleep on your feet."
"Kendall's going to have nightmares tonight because of you," Percy pressed his lips tightly together and he looked down at Kendall. "I'm not leaving until he stops looking like he's about to have a heart attack. Sorry, Dollie, for talking about you like you aren't here. Are you okay?"

"I'll be okay," the pemanu muttered in a quiet voice, trying to move away from Percy so that he could stand. Kendall looked up at the two with a small smile only after he brushed the sand and fur from his clothes. "It's okay, Percy, I'll be fine. You're dad's right though... You should go and get some rest." With a chuckle, he added, "And you probably have to get back to training, okay? Otherwise you'll never be as intimidating as your dad." His bright blue eyes, mixed with flecks of bright orange and purple, darted away for a moment, calculating something silently before looking back at the navajo warriors, though he only spoke to Percy. Kendall just felt more comfortable addressing his friend. Even still, he continued to smile lightly. "Do you need a lift back or can you manage?"

Percy stood along side Kendall, but he felt a bit of a dizzy wave. Fatigue rolled off of him in waves and he had to put a hand on Kendall to steady himself. "Not today," a yawn left Percy. "I already trained earlier today." A grin lifted his lips and he watched Kendall, always feeling sad and reluctant to leave him. "No, I'm good. We can manage. Alright? Be safe." With a small chuckle, he grabbed a few pieces of his fur off of Kendall. "Alright, Dollie Bird. Good night. I'll see you tomorrow."
"That's debatable." Sumner walked over and picked his son up, princess-style, with a groan. "Alright, little Percy, we should get going. But I don't think I can carry up all the way like this. Want on my back."
"Mmhmm. I thought I was getting too heavy," Percy grinned.
"If you gain anymore muscle or brain, maybe," Sumner chuckled and set Percy down. Playfully, Percy leaped on his back and the two laughed as Sumner stumbled forward a few paces. Soon, they were settled with Percy on his back. "As much as I'm fine with you, Kendall, I'm not ready to see you in your pemanu form. Alright? So, you're okay with getting back?"

Kendall gave a small nod. "I'll be okay. I think there's another way I can get back anyway," he smiled. As far as he knew, though, the only way back from here was to fly. But, being considerate of Sumner's wishes, Kendall would just wait to transform and fly back then. "It was nice meeting you," said the singer as he politely dipped his head. Standing up straight, Kendall waved to Percy. "See you tomorrow then..." And with one last smile, the pemanu turned and skirted away from the father and son pair. No, Kendall never felt bitter at his own family situation, but remembering how playful Percy was with his father, longing filled his chest, pressing painfully against his ribs. It would have been nice to have at least someone like that to go home to, or even care. But at the end of the day, longing got him no where. At most, Kendall had his friendship with Percy, and that was enough.

Percy turned his head and watched Kendall as long as he could until he disappeared from view. A long sigh left him and his brows pressed together. "I always feel lonely when I leave him." He murmured and then pushed his face into his father's neck. "Dad, I'm sorry I kept this from you..."
"How long? Well, my guess is for at least five years." Sumner murmured as he walked up to the cliff. "Percy, I know you really like him, but... at some point you're going to have to stop. He's either going to realize it and stop coming, or you're going to get into a battle with the pemanu swine and he's going to hate you."
Percy clutched tightly onto his father and his brows fell together. "I don't.." He shook his head. "Can't we just take one day at a time?"
A long, hard sigh left Sumner. "Fine. But this doesn't mean you're still not in trouble."
"Daad!"
Training had left Percy sore, tired, and even a bit irritable. There was two years of hard training in his canine form, and he had mastered all techniques, due to hard training and even slimming off a bit of time with Kendall, which devastated Percy. His father, though, had insisted. And today he received the title. "Champion".
It was hard work. Very, very hard work. There were several trials, several people he had to defeat. Now, sore, with gold champion bracelets (this may change) on both wrists, he was Percival Champion. Of course, there had been a ceremony that Percy had to attend, and a banquet for him. The odd ball was a Champion. A full fledged warrior.
And Percy couldn't wait to get away.
Tired, sore, and even a bit sweaty, Percy slipped away from the last bit of the celebration. He hoped it wasn't too late. He hoped Kendall wasn't worried. He hadn't even gotten that far before he heard someone clear their throat. Wincing, he turned to see his father standing there with his arms crossed and a brow raised. "Alright," Sumner smiled softly. "Go on. Be careful though, alright? Tell him I said 'Hi'."
"Of course, Dad, thank you," Percy breathed with a grin. He quickly moved through the darkening forest. He sprinted through the darkness and then to the secret path that led down. As soon as he hit the ground, he said, "Kendall?" He spoke quietly, worried.
