Basic Biology:
The Asura are said to be born from the dawn, the rising sun their father and creator. Their skin, the light that shimmers through out the day, ranges from pale peaches to yellows and perhaps even orange in some cases. A shimmer of gold is added to their skin when they're out in the sun.

Their bodies are golden, their features light and always the colouration of the sky. This means that they can have a range of colours for their hair and eyes- so long as those colours are always bright and have an association with the day. Their hair is almost always two colours and gives a faint glow. Their eyes do not glow but can have the same range of colours- and never will anyone find a full blooded Asura with any dark features. The only way one could have dark features is if it were half Asura.

The sister race to the Nocvi, their opposite, the Asura strive in daylight and are at their strongest when the sun is out. During the day they are awake- and the night they stay inside. The dark is not their friend and they are weaker during the time in which the moon is in the sky- without the sun, they are not as

Their structure is similar to both humans and elves- the sturdiness and strength of humans mixed with the charming bone structure and effortless grace carried by elves. Because of such an odd mix of structures, this leaves a very wide height range for the Asura- ranging from four feet even to the rare possibility of seven feet.

Asura, despite looking like the break of day, possess a few unique qualities. For a certain amount of time every day they are able to show another being something of their own creation- the other beings deepest desires- an alternate reality of sorts- or simply anything the Asura wishes to show them. These visions are called 'Oasis's' and can only last for a certain amount of time. They can be shown to more than one person, but the more people the shorter the Oasis will be and the more strain it will put on the Asura. To show someone their deepest desires or dreams- the Asura must be told of these dreams and wishes, must know what it is the other being is seeking to be able to show it. It is easier to perform an Oasis in the day time than the night due to the Asura's connections with the sun.

Along with the abilities to perform Oasis' there are a few other unique abilities the Asura possess. With their connection to the day and their ancestry from the sun, they cannot live without a sun blessed crystal gift made in the sunlight. Like the Nocvi and their moon metal trinkets, the Asura have sun crystal trinkets- and are made in a similar way, save for the difference of night and day when they are crafted. An Asura child must be of age- ten- to craft one and they cannot go without it. If they do, they become at their lowest point and some may even stop glowing- their colours will fade into darkness and in a sense their light will 'burn out'.

While night may not be that big of a deal for most races it is a disaster for the Asura. Well, not really a disaster, but it doesn't do them well to be without light for too long. They can get sick and as stated before- their light goes out, meaning that they fade when they are close to death. Eventually, in death, they disappear with the light or simply fade out into the night completely.

General Behavior:
The spotlight has a profound love for the Asura and in a sense it plays a big part in an Asura's life. They are the poster children for society, those that many look up to- which isn't difficult to do as they are almost always in positions where they are well known.

Always (seemingly and stereotyped) kind and polite, they are very charismatic- generally they are accepted in society and have a reputation for being the most generous and charismatic. This leads their behaviors to be very open and accepting.


Usual Habitat:
While the Asura are stationed mostly in Letha, many can be found in the other lands here and there. There really isn't a usual habitat for them, other than they are always found in the sunniest of places- as it is vital for their health.

Aliment:
Besides the common eating everyday, staying hydrated and having enough time in the sun, the Asura- just like the Nocvi- must have their sun crystal trinkets on them at all times.

Basic Social Structure:
Every Asura is free to run their life how they see fit and there is no basic social structure.

Family Life/Gender Roles:
There are no gender roles among the Asura- they are raised by whichever parents wants or has to take on that role and each family is free to run their home how they see fit.

Procreation:
Procreation is possible between two Asura and the product will be a full fledged Asura. A child of pure Asurian blood may be produced and unlike the Nocvi, there are no restraints or higher ups to keep their race controlled.
If mixed, however, the child will be only half of what an Asura is- meaning their abilities will be weaker and they will be able to have the very basics of a regular life style- meaning they will won't be so affected by the night. If an Asura should partner with a Nocvi, however, the child will be doomed from birth. The two opposing races- as different as night and day- will eventually destroy the child once they come to the age where they must become a member of night or day. Having both in their blood there will be no balance and they will be sickened by both, with no trinket available to help them.


Childbirth and Childcare:
An Asurain mother will carry a child for five months in total if the child is a full fledged Asura- if it is a half breed the child will be carried for as long as the opposite race's children are carried. At the age of 18 an Asura is considered an adult and will begin to shift into the life of an adult Asurain. They must craft their trinket in the day at the age of 10 so they will be able to withstand not being in pure sunlight a little longer.

Magic and Abilities:
Each and every Asura has the ability to create an 'Oasis'. This is an Asurian specific ability which allows them to show another being another place- show them an alternate reality or their deepest wish being fulfilled, or even something the Asura wants them to see. This requires the consent of the other being- and for cases where their dreams are going to be shown, the other must inform the Asura of their wishes so they may create them. This ability can only be used for a certain amount of time- two hours straight during the day and one hour at night- and they can show multiple people the same thing at once- but this is very tiring to them and wears them out more quickly so this isn't often done.

Legends and Folklore:

The Sun's Tears: A unique legend, many forget how it came to be. Many believe that one day, a red star fell from the sun and landed in the hands of a small Asurian child. Bewildered, the child looked up to the sun and saw that more red stars had fallen, as if tears from the sun itself had been gifted upon the earth. The ground touched by the red stars sprouted plants that grew 'sun plants'- plants that grew the sun's tears- and the Asura, blessed by such a gift, planted the sun plants all over. To this day each and every Asura keeps a Sun plant in their home and work space. They fear that if they do not that they are rejecting the sun's gift and will anger the sun.

The stars on these plants are tasty snacks and quite a sweet treat. Often there are treats made from the stars, dishes formed around it's unique delectable taste. Jewelry and clothing is made in resemblance to the star's- and on special days the Asura wear these items or wear red and have a red star printed on their skin somewhere visible for celebration purposes.

History:
No one knows how the Asura came to be, but after the night of the Nocvi, the Asura appeared with the dawn. They were accepted more than the Nocvi due to their racial perks and were quickly accepted into the world. While they made their way into the day to day life, they were rumored to be the embodiment of the sun's rays- and the Nocvi their shadows. This is not true, but no one can say for sure exactly why they are the sister race to the Nocvi- all they know is they are opposites and coexist, coming from similar roots- the sun and the moon.
