But before a tired Claus could mumble an incoherent reply, the angry bear had finally had enough. "Shut the fuck up!" Elijah finally growled, glaring daggers at Goddad as he managed to sit himself up. Even if he was awake, the poor malaki still felt heavy and sluggish. Not to mention the mild wave of pain that jarred through him at his sudden movements. "Just shut the fuck up. Shit, you're worse than my brothers, and they never stop their gods' damned shrieking!" Desperately in need of some place quiet enough to finish his nap, the giant stood and stormed from the room. Too damn bad they had taken his guns away. Too damn bad he had to keep waking up..

"Watch your back," Edmund growled, his eyes turning molten with anger, "because I'll be there and I'll shatter your kneecaps with a few bullets." Pausing, Edmund said, "Claus, keep an eye on Cyril-" then he ran from the room to make sure his son didn't tear apart the ship, or anyone else on it.
Laughing, Goddard eased himself down on the edge of the bed, folding his hands behind his head. "Well, they certainly have spark." He glanced over at Claus, and his usual mischievousness melted away, but he wouldn't allow worry to fill his face. Claus would only disapprove of it. "What happened to you, lad? And why is it you're just sticking to Marco's ship? Marco, of all the pirates."

Not that poor baby Cyril was doing anything. He was still curled up on his bed, his wings shielding him from the outside world.
Not that Elijah really could tear apart the ship or any of the crew members, but that wouldn't stop him from trying. The gunman stormed down the hall for only a few more moments until he stopped. With as weak as he felt, it was difficult to hold onto his anger and that allowed the rational part of him to realize he had no idea where he was going. Elijah stopped and glanced around with a characteristic scowl. He sat himself down against the wall because what else was there to do, if not sleep?
"Marco's the farthest thing from a pirate!" Claus snapped at Goddard as he mustered the strength to sit up. Even that proved to be a task. "You want to know the bloody truth? Some wanker made his way onto my ship and convinced my own crew mates that I wasn't being fair. Then they staged a bloody mutiny and now I'm shipless and crewless. And then I stowed away onto Marco's ship because I've nothing better to do where I'm treated like a bleedin' mentally handicap child," he hissed, but refrained from shouting because no one else needed to hear what had happened, even if they already knew.

Edmund stayed a few paces behind Elijah until he stopped. He lingered where he was for a few moments and sighed. Shaking his head, Edmund made his way towards Elijah, albeit tentatively. "I think it's about time we visited Damien, don't you think?" He watched his shoes, still trying to figure out how to interact with Elijah. "You might even be able to steal an extra bed and nap until that godsdamned bastard gets out of the room." Reaching up, Edmund attempted to fix his hair, mostly out of nervousness.
(Curious: I had always assumed that Claus ran to Goddard after he was betrayed, and Goddard nursed his wounds before Claus went back out? Did Claus not tell him what happened? Or am I not thinking correctly?)
Goddard pushed himself to sit up, watching Claus for a few moments. He remained quiet for a few moments before giving Claus a light smile. "I don't understand why you would stay." Leaning forward, Goddard began fiddling with his fake leg, shaking his head. "Seems as if we're both in a bloody mess." Glancing up at Claus, Goddard said, "I can't believe you've given up. You'll find yourself a ship in no time, and then a crew will be hot on your tail. I, on the other hand, have somewhere else in mind. After I deal with business here, I'll leave." He watched Claus carefully for a few moments. "And I can't guarantee you'll find me again."

While the thought of going to visit Damien was an appealing one, Elijah muttered, "He's bunking with some other fags," not that he knew that Percy and Kendall were actually homosexual, everyone on a pirate ship full of men were fags to him, "so someone will probably be there." Without much thought, poor Elijah couldn't resist the urge to lull his head into his father's comforting touch. Not that he wanted to attempt to figure out why he was so comfortable around his abuser at the moment. It was too confusing.
"What? Why? Where are you going?" Claus inquired as he rested his back against the wall the bunk bed was pressed up against. "You're not going back to your hoard, are you?" He scoffed at the thought. "And I don't have a choice being here and there's no way I could possibly start up another crew. Those twats took the best bloody ship I've ever flown and my reputation reputation is ruined. No sensible pirate would join my crew even if I did start one up."

Despite his oh-woe-is-me mood lately, Edmund let out a small chuckle at Elijah's words. "I don't think company will ever stop you from taking a nap, Elijah." He dropped his hand to Elijah's shoulder and said, "But if you would rather, I can chase Kendall and Percy out of their room." He stepped away from Elijah and started heading towards their room, only pausing to look back at Elijah. "We also could just go hide in the cargo area. It's not as comfy as a bed though," he winced and rubbed his back at the memory.
Goddard wondered if he could get by with just ignoring Claus' first question. But he didn't really want to broach the subject with Claus' pessimism. There were different paths he could go down. He could point out Claus was being pessimistic, but... he wondered if that would bode well. Or he could just drop it, and feed Claus' festering need for knowledge. Answers to questions always lead to more answers. Pessimism it is. "Reputation?" Goddard raised a brow. "Of what? A ruthless pirate who gets what he wants? A man who could easily rule the world if he wished? A man who could look the Letha leader in the eye and probably steal Letha right from under his nose?"
Shrugging, Goddard shook his head, making a "tsking" noise under his breath. "The Claus I was charged with looking after wouldn't stop because of some bloke who spread some rumors about him. That's woman's work." With a glint in his eye, Goddard smiled lightly at Goddard. "I'm sure you of all people know that what you can accomplish is limited by what you want to work towards. Ah," Goddard scooted back to lean against the bed post. "I'm so happy to be dead and gone. Now I can live my life peacefully." He paused and looked Claus in the eye. "How are you doing, lad? Humor aside, all of this probably was a harsh blow below the belt."

Yeah, Edmund was right. Nothing really would stop Elijah from taking a nap, but of course, he would say nothing. Instead. Elijah snorted lightly and relented. He pulled away from his father and used the wall to help himself stand. "Fine," the bear growled. "Fine. We'll go to their room. So get up and take me there. But... don't leave me alone." Because the last thing baby Elijah wanted was to be left alone again.
Claus certainly wasn't in the mood for a motivational speak at the moment. Motivation didn't belong in the world of pirates. Ambition did. A lust for power did. He had that at one time, but poor Claus wasn't sure what to do anymore. Sure, he was throwing himself a pity party at the moment, but surely he would bounce back. He had done so before. Claus laid himself back down on the bed, pulling Marina close to his chest. "Oh, how am I doing? I want to know why you're avoiding my questions. "Where are you going? Why won't I be able to find you again?" He pulled the blankets away to peer up at Goddard with a burning gaze. "What are you planning?"

Edmund couldn't help but glance over at Elijah with a sorrowful glance. "You won't be alone any time soon, Elijah." He continued on his way towards the room. "I should probably send someone to get you food..." He reached up to scratch his chin. "Anything specific sound good? Baked mac and cheese does, but I doubt they have the stuff to make it. You don't get seasick, do you?"
"That's not how you are doing. That's more of just bitching on what you want." A smirk curled Goddard's lips and he said, "I'm not planning anything. I'm going to lay low, again. I don't want people after my ass." He watched Claus for a few moments before saying, "I have one leg, Claus. I can't really run that fast with one leg. But don't worry about me, because I'll keep an ear out for you, to help you out when your arse gets kicked again."

"No, I don't," he muttered in reply to his father's question. He had been on enough ships, even if he slept most of the time. "Mac and cheese is good." Shit, mac and cheese sounded great. Having been, maybe, starved during their capture, it was likely the pair were still skin and bones at this point, or at least they were working on getting proper food again. Because Dina is running out of things to say, she decided it was time for Elijah to become quizzical. "Did you really join a pirate crew??"
(I forgot if Edmund told Elli this or not, so ignore the question if Eddy already explained.)
'Which will happen again soon,' he bit back. There was no need to be that depressing. "Why don't you just stay here, maybe work for a bit until things die down?" He couldn't help but roll his eyes, because Claus figured Goddard had probably gotten into some sort of trouble over gold. It was always gold related. Always. "Did you come aboard Marco's ship just to tell me this?"

Snorting, Edmund said, "You can't be serious." He looked at Elijah, raising a brow. "First of all, Marco would probably throw me off his ship, because I would always question him, or get pissy. Second, I'm no pirate," a small wry smile lifted the corner of his lips. "Third, I'm not a seafarer. No... I'm..." Edmund shook his head, "I'm here because I'm protecting someone." He shook his head. "I don't know what I'm going to do after I drop all of you off. Maybe I'll continue to make sure he's safe and sound." Sighing, Edmund rubbed the back of his head, and perhaps made it to Kendall's and Percy's door. He drummed his knuckles on it and glanced back at Elijah.
Goddard started to laugh, and he laughed really hard. It took him a few moments to catch his breath, "There is no bloody way I am working under that poor excuse of a pirate!" He laughed even harder and shook his head. "After having control of my own ship, I don't think I could take anyone's orders again. And I did come aboard to tell you this, and to make sure that Marco wasn't keeping you captive and torturing you, among other things." With laughter still in his eyes, Goddard jammed his thumb in Cyril's direction. "Do I have to worry about that lad sticking his nose in places it shouldn't be?"
