A laugh left Rylan and he said, "No! Don't. Sam won't ever stop." He let out a happy chuckle and said, "Well, I am fine on my own. I... don't think I would... be alright getting into a relationship right now." His eyes flickered up to Patch and he smiled and said, "I can understand why, by the way. You're perfectly fine. Alec's probably never going to be interested in any of that. He does love to show his affection, from what I've seen." He ran his fingers through his hair. "Does that ever make you... uncomfortable? Is it tough for you speak up for yourself? Probably..."
Seth's face twisted in distaste and he slapped his brother's stomach again. "Are you kidding me? No. Nu-uh. She would take that time to torture me. And she's just a princess." Rolling his eyes, he snuggled against Chase and let out a soft sigh. "Plus, neither of us could keep up with her workout. You can exercise with her on your own time." A small smirk curled his lips and he said, "You deserve better than her, Chase."

The human shrugged his shoulders, his expression growing rather solemn. "It does sometimes, speaking up I mean. I've just learned to be very careful about what I say, you know?" He reached for his other snack, probably something healthier like granola, and quietly pealed the wrappings open. "It's hard traveling around when you occasionally see how much people hate humans, a slave here and there, a sign saying no humans allowed, kind of always being reminded what I am. And with Kenneth already being a huge racist, I try not to say much in front of him. But Alec is usually pretty gentle. It's... not the kind of touch I'd flinch away from. It's just hand holding, hugs, things like that. Nothing to be too worried over."
The older brother let out a quiet sigh. He couldn't understand why he had brought Amara up in the first place, not when he knew how Seth felt about her. But he found himself unable to be angry about it anymore. Chase couldn't change how Seth felt about Amara but he could always wonder. "I don't understand why you keep saying that. You know I love her." A light smirk curled his lips. "And you know it's not like anyone else would be interested in someone who just reads books all the time. You should be happy I've found someone."

"Eloria's bad," Rylan said, softly. He smiled lightly and said, "Well, I suppose I should give Alec more credit. He would probably be able to tell if you're uncomfortable." Gently, he pinned his hair back again with the barrette. "Alec's good. He'll listen to you, Patch. He is always listening to you. And I can tell you that a lot people in our group wouldn't show hate towards those cute little round ears of yours." Rylan smirked softly and watched Patch for a few moments. "I don't think of you any less than I do of anyone else. Your race doesn't matter. So... if you need any help with the bigoted other idiots, I'm here." With a soft smile, Rylan looked down at his nails. Perhaps fairly chipped since the last time he and Elaine painted them together. "I need to get out of this little bubble of mine. To start looking after everyone else like Kasimir and Kaleb. It's just... really tough. I always wonder what the point is. Oh, lookey here. Ry brought the topic bad to his sad self. So sad, soooo sad." With a smirk he laid back and said. "Ugh, I just want Damien and Elijah's sorry asses to come back so I stop looking like such a sorry asshole." More meekly, Rylan added, "Sorry, Pat."
Sitting up, Seth frowned down at his brother. "Are you fucking serious right now? I'm going to-" A sigh left Seth and he shook his head. "First of all, you're attractive--because I'm attractive. Or was. Anyways, and you're smart. People go for that, a lot more than you think. People don't want some big dumb idiot that's all muscle. Not unless they're idiots." He leaned over to look down at Chase, his eyes sparking with anger. "You're so much more than just someone who reads books," He rolled his eyes. "Amara is... she's running away from her responsibilities. If she hadn't, maybe all those fangs wouldn't have been torn out. And she comes back to put a band aid on the situation and leaves, again. And when you disappeared, she-" Seth choked and shook his head. Cloudy had an idea but it disappeared so, Seth's slow brain slowly caught up and he gave Chase a shocked glance. "Wait, you love her? As in, the big L? Have... have you guys told each other?"

Once again, Patch dismissed Rylan's apologize with a wave of his hand. "It's okay, Ry, you don't have to keep apologizing," he said with a small smile. "That's how people talk. I mean, we already know we both have problems." The human offered some of his granola to Rylan. "Anyway, I think it would be really cool if you started looking after everyone, tear down those walls we put up for some reason. Maybe you could have us all sit in a room and introduce ourselves and do stupid icebreaker games. I bet everyone would really like that," he mused. In reality, the human was a hypocrite. Icebreaker games were the worst. "Or we could do stupid team building exercises." Patch smirked at that. "Hey.. Speaking of Elijah. You know, I hate to ask, but I'm really curious. Can you really read his mind and he can read yours? I don't think anyone has explained to me how this connection of yours works. Or what it even is."
Dina doesn't know but she assumes the two have been saying they love each other for a while. Chase gave a small nod as he sat up. "I guess we have, we've been going out for a long time now. You know, dating and all that." He shrugged and, if gorgeous wants, attempted to pull Seth back down onto the bed with him with a rather wry smile. "You know, normal couple stuff. Dates first, not kids." His smile fell. "I know she's running away from her responsibilities but I can't force her to go back if she doesn't want to. Amara will have to make that decision for herself."

Patch's words had Rylan laughing. His mind turned with the image of everyone sitting down and awkwardly trying to do ice breakers. Though, Patch's question sobered him and he flashed him a smile. "Honestly, I am not..." His smile dropped. "Um. It happened one day. We were running away from someone, in the forest, I fell off a waterfall, had one of my seizures. But... Elijah was there. And after that, boom." Rylan sighed and played with a ring on his finger. "I can really read his mind. I can sort through his memories." Rylan looked over Patch, face twisting in thought. "It's different though. Different than my own thoughts. Kind of..." He closed his eyes. "Like having a radio run in the background. Sometimes I listen in, sometimes I don't. Elijah doesn't really listen in. But... I can project things to him. Make him listen. He can do the same. We... haven't really played with it much. I think Elijah would rather forget it is all there." A sigh left Rylan and he let his face fill with sorrow. "You kind of get really used to that radio. Now it's just silence. And... I hate it. That's why... I try to hard, to find him. Because..." Because without that radio, Rylan felt disconnected. He felt like he was withering away. His eyes flickered to Patch and he gave a small smile. "Elijah has amazing thoughts. Better memories. He's so emotionally constipated it's insane."
They probably have.
Seth refused to acknowledge it.
A stubborn sigh breathed through Seth's nose and he frowned, reaching to clutch tightly onto his brother. He shook his head and said, "Well, she's been nicer to you longer than I have." He felt his heart tighten at that thought. If it were between him and Amara, who would Chase choose? He swallowed uncomfortably. If he were honest with himself, Chase would choose Amara. Wouldn't he? "Um, just... um, make sure she treats you right. Because you're..." Seth felt his cheeks become blistering hot and he tucked in his chin, giving himself a bit of a double chin, and muttered very quietly, "You're my big brother and I love you. And I want you to be happy, and treated the best. Because you deserve it. And other stuff. And yeah. That's why." Clearing his throat, he pulled at Chase's shirt and said, "So, how's the weather?"

Patch sat for a moment in silence as he tried to imagine how it would feel to essentially share thoughts with people. What if he shared thoughts with Alec? He would probably only ever hear how hungry the little isoke is, or how he wishes he was chubby. And Alec would hear Patch's disconnected thoughts. If they shared memories, Patch wouldn't have to get Alec to understand what he had been through, not if Alec could see it for himself. A connection like that, he concluded, could surely only come with its ups and downs. But Patch understood Rylan, knew what it felt to be as lonely as he was. "Well, he'll be back soon along with Damien. I know we're still pretty far away now but can you hear anything from him?"
Seth is so cute, he really is. Chase tightened his hold around his brother having just barely heard Seth's quiet words. "Seth, you know I love you too, right?" He smiled softly. "Thank you for looking out for me. I'll be okay." If he could, Chase tried resting his chin atop Seth's head but Dina wasn't really sure the position they were sitting or laying in. "You know, Seth, you've come a long way from wanting to kill me and I just wanted to say that I'm really proud of you. I didn't think so at first but you're doing a great job raising Milo now and handling the twins. You've really turned your life around for the better, Seth."

But imagine the possibilities, Patch. Getting to peer into that little genius mind as he solves equations, comes up with ideas. Then Patch could tweak those ideas--they would never need paper again. Or speaking, really.
A soft sigh left Rylan and he smiled quietly. "No. I even know what direction to search into now, but he's still a little far--but he reached out to me, that one night. It... well, anyways. Searching for his connection is... exhaustion. I worried the Daniels--and continue to worry them--(maybe) with that. But the stupid thing is, he doesn't care. Elijah doesn't care a single ounce for me. And here I am torn apart with out him." He smiled vacantly and sighed. "Oh woe is me, oh! The pain, the sorrow-" He giggled and flashed Patch a smile. "Enough about me complaining. Do you think you're going to tell Joziah, and Seth?" Rylan searched Patch's eyes before he quietly said, "It must be hard to trust people."
Embarrassment crashed through Seth and he rolled to cover his brother's mouth with both hands. The crippling feeling took over him for a few moments before he let out a choked sob and said, "You... I blamed you for them. I blamed it all on you, and I thought if I could get rid of you that they would love me. But they wouldn't. They never would. And I realized that. And, realized that you had always been trying to reach out to me. So, shhhhh, shhhhhh, please. For the sake of my sanity, don't tell me you're proud, or anything," his eyes filled with tears and he whispered, "Damn it," under his breath. "Look what you did with all that surprise cheese! What an ass!" Moving to sit up, Seth held his face in his hands to try and compose himself. "You do this on purpose." He choked, accusingly.

Patch let out a dramatic sigh and finished the rest of his granola snack. Hopefully that would hold him over until lunch. Or whenever Alec returned. Knowing Kenneth or the old ketsuki, that wouldn't be any time soon. Gods above, next time he should just ask Alec for the money before he left. Or asked the ketsuki to get a single room for Patch. Sometimes, there was a part of Patch that wondered if Alec needed him anymore. The little isoke had all the family and friends he needed now. "It will always be hard to trust people as long as I'm hu- what I am and we're seen as we are. I don't know. My brother tried to gauge Seth yesterday about how he felt about the issue, but I still don't think I'll tell them. Not until I know how they feel about the issue."
The older brother couldn't help but think about how adorable Seth was. If he could, Chase sat up with his brother and tried to wrap his arms around Seth once again, smiling softly as he did so. "Seth, I'm sorry. I didn't expect you to get so teary," he mused softly, trying to lean his head against Seth's. "But I just wanted to tell you. I was sitting here thinking about it this morning and I didn't want to forget." Quietly, to Seth, Chase whispered, "They didn't deserve you, Seth. You're better than them, pudge and all." With a chuckle, the older brother tried to pull away. "Alright, I'm sorry. I won't say anything else."

"From my not-so-professional eyes," Rylan said gently, his lips curved softly. "I would say that Seth can't really afford to care. He was in a gang. I would be surprised if he held any judgement towards other races. Joziah, on the other hand..." A sigh left him through his nose and he stared thoughtfully at the ceiling. "He was isolated in a way, growing up. I can't figure out exactly how. His family's relationships left him bitter. He probably entrusts a lot in you, and Seth. Especially Sage--oh. Anyways. Watching you eat has made me hungry. But I'm too lazy to actually get up. Ugh." Rylan smirked softly and said, "I wish Sammy was up. I could give him a sad face text, and he would probably he ecstatic that I am actually showing interest in real food." With a soft giggle, he added quietly, "'Mommy needs food.'"
"I'm pretty sure in that big brain of yours, you woulda realized that-" Seth swallowed and shook his head, turning to bury his face into Chase's neck and muttered, "It's the pudge that sells it. You ass." With a soft smirk, he shoved Chase down and said, "Mi! Time to attack! Get Uncle, right now!"
"Rawr!" Milo immediately abandoned playing with Zachariah, and crawled towards Chase. He curled around Chase's head and started giggling, "Rawr! Rawr.... Hi." He kicked out his legs, not hitting anyone, and buried his face into Chase's hair.
Smiling, Seth rubbed at his eyes and used Chase's stomach as a pillow. "Do you really think that I'm doing an okay job, with Milo?" Worry filled his eyes as Milo started giving Chase's brows kisses while muttering eating noises. "I mean..." A sigh left him. "I feel selfish sometimes. Because I know he needs me. And he can't leave. But... um. Yeah."
