Sweat built up on his forehead, probably from a mix of infection and pain. Aaron let out a shaky breath, continuing forward. If he could get help, or... His eyes slid to Nate. Of course. Of course. He shakily slid to the concrete and swallowed. "Nate," he choked, reaching out for him. "Nate, I..." He closed his eyes, taking in a soft breath.
The damn jackass who nailed Aaron was going to pay. If... if Aaron survived this. "I just need a few moments." Just a little bit to breathe. His head swam a bit, and he tried himself it was because he was just a little light headed. Just a little. Aaron shouldn't have fought back. He should have just given up and went to the first phone, cancelled his credit card, and phone, and...
He opened his eyes and shook his head, "Nate, buddy. I'm not doing to well. I..." His jaw ached. Aaron didn't have anyone to send Nate to. There wasn't anyone to ensure his little kitten will be safe, that he wouldn't ever go back into slavery. That he would be loved. And Aaron didn't want to send Nate off. No, he didn't want Nate running blindly away from him.
But... maybe there was a shop, or a friendly person, willing to help. Someone...
No. Aaron wouldn't do that to him. "Nate, come here. We're going to talk." And come up with a plan. There had to be somewhere if... if something happened to Aaeon. His gut twisted uncomfortably.

Nate was, naturally, horrified. Though young, he was smart enough to realize that if Aaron didn't get proper medical help, he would die. Aaron had 'died' once. Nate wasn't sure if he could go through that again. Aaron was, as he had begun to learn, the only person in the world that he could trust. As instructed, the small anigma stepped closer to Aaron, perhaps reaching out for something of Aaron to hold onto be that his shirt or his hands. He was already crying as tears clouded his vision. "A-Aaron, n-n-no," the boy stammered, as if that would be enough to help Aaron. "P-please, I-I can g-go get help!" Not that it was a good idea, considering what happened the last time he had run off looking for help. "I-I c-can find s-someone.. I-I can g-get a healer."
(Dina learned that stuttering and speech issues are not caused by outside issues/factors like she originally thought so both Cyril and Nate's stuttering issues are irrelevant unless they actually have a speech impediment.)

With the magic power of just saying "no", Aaron's leg stitched itself back up and he was cured. He pulled Nate close with a childish giggle and kissed Nate cheek. "You did it! I'm safe! Now Hiro won't have to molest you!"
Aaron grasped more tightly onto Nate. His gut twisted with a new feeling: unease. "Nate, I don't... I don't want you to get hurt again. I..." He reached up to gently hold his head. What other options did Aaron have? Maybe a little longer. Just a little longer he could walk. Maybe... "Nate, if something happens to me, find the nicest person you can. Stay as a cat. Alright? You stay as a cat until you think you find someone trustworthy. Then transform and ask them for help. There are organizations, for former slaves, and..." He swallowed. "For now, I-I am going to try and walk a little more, okay? And you go just a little bit ahead. Just a little. If there's anything weird, you run. Don't worry about me, just run. Transform and run." He slowly shifted, with a groan, and tried to stand up again. His body shook with pain and exhaustion. "It's okay to cry, Nate," Aaron said softly, because he always remembered people telling him not to cry, and he didn't like that policy. "Alright? Just know... just know that... I love you."

The small anigma choked on a shaky sob and, maybe, lulled his head against Aaron. The more Aaron spoke about finding someone else to take care of Nate, the more helpless he felt. He didn't want to be with anyone else except Aaron. "O-okay," the boy sniffled and pulled away from Aaron. He lifted his small hands to wipe away the tears that continued to crawl down his cheeks. "I'll g-go on a-ahead." And try to look for help. Somehow. He took light hesitant steps away from his caretaker and glanced over his shoulder as if it was the last time he'd see Aaron, before Nate hurried from the (alley?) they took shelter in. The anigma began to shake as he emerged onto the open streets. His heart began to beat viciously against his rib cage as the child was consumed in a sea of people.

Something tugged in Hiro and he felt the hunter in him want follow it. His pupils dilated, and his hearing opened up to search. He heard it. A shaky breath, pattering feet. Fear. No one was chasing the source. Or at least, nothing he could hear. He heard a groan. But it was hard to distinguish noises from the ones right next to him. A swallow. A shift of feet-
"Hiro?"
Surprised, Hiro flinched out of his thoughts. His eyes snapped towards his father who watched him closely. "There's someone..." His eyes narrowed down the street and perhaps he spotted movement. "Him. He's terrified."
"When's the last time you've gone hunting, Hiro?" Kasimir asked, his voice thick with disapproval.
Hiro flinched again and brushed past his father. "We should see what's the matter." His eyes flickered towards Noah, a silent question for him to come too. He headed towards the small figure.
(is this okay?)

As loyal as ever, Noah hovered after Hiro like a quiet ghost, always at his side. Even if Hiro was 'hungry', Noah knew his friend wasn't hunting now. Maybe because he knew how uncomfortable Hiro was still with his ketsuki nature. The quiet boy glanced around him as he searched for the source of fear that drew Hiro. There. He saw it. A small boy hurried down the quiet street searching for.. something.
Now Nate wished he had gone the other way to the other end of the alley. When he emerged on to the supposed quiet street, he stumbled upon a rather large group of people that seemed to be together. If it were even possible, his heart sped up at the sight of so many people in one place. He slowed as he tried to come up with a plan. Should Nate attempt to sneak around them or turn around? Did he have time?
"He stopped," Noah said. "Did you want to go talk to him?"
Dina apologizes. She's still tired and didn't think she could write Nate's freak-out all in one post.

What would be the best way to approach such a scared person? Hiro didn't know kids. He preferred them keep away. His mouth turned down and he half felt like making Noah approach the kid. He headed towards the kid, "Hello?" Were women more approachable? Maybe he could act like a woman.
Wow. No. He shouldn't. Clearing his throat, Hiro tried to soften his voice, "Hey, there," he headed towards the kid. "Is everything alright? We can help-" Perhaps now, if Hiro was close enough to perhaps recognize him. Hiro froze and his hand shot out to grasp tightly onto Noah's wrist. Choked, Hiro muttered, "Maybe you should talk to him."
(Optional: )
Kasimir slid past Hiro with a sigh and headed towards the kid. "Hey there, is everything alright? Are you lost?"

Unfortunately for Hiro, Nate recognized him as well. Noah glanced down at Hiro's hand but before he could ask what was wrong, an ear piercing scream shattered the once quiet atmosphere. While Noah wasn't as sensitive to sound as Hiro was, he couldn't help but fold his cute deer ears back in an attempt to block out the loud shrill sound. Meanwhile, Nate stumbled away from and fell to ground. Memories flooded back to him in that moment, when he had jumped in front of the knife to protect Aaron. And he could feel that agony all over again as that blade pierced his eye. The only way that this could possibly get any worse would be if Nigel's ghost appeared next to Hiro.

Agony shot through Hiro and he crashed down onto one knee, clamping his hands over his ears. His jaw clamped tight. Everything in him wanted to grab the kid and bite him but-
The scream was bad news, Jones. Aaron's heart stopped and he shot out of the alley way. Pain screeched through him, blinding him with a flash of white. He struggled with his breath, blinking to clear his vision. "Nate!" Aaron shouted. His vision cleared, just for him to lurch forward and wrap him up on his arms. He didn't see who the attackers were and curled around him, dropping to the ground. They were going to have to rip Nate from his corpse before the got to him.
Seth heard the scream and immediately headed towards it. "What the hell? Who the hell is torturing a kid? Better not be one of Kenneth's, or someone is going to die."
Rylan shifted towards the commotion, too. All alone. Probably annoyed that he couldn't finish his text to Elaine.
The first thing Kasimir smelled was blood. He turned and shouted, "Scott! Scott Daniels, I need you!"

As soon as he saw his brother break off into the direction of the scream, Chase decided to follow. "Where are you going?" He asked Seth as he trailed his brother. "You should let the others handle it." If there was a problem, there was no point in crowding. That usually caused more problems.
With Aaron as cover, the poor anigma pressed into the man. He continued to shake as he sobbed into (maybe) Aaron's shirt. So much for getting help. What was he going to do now? Aaron needed help, but.. Hiro's stupid face flashed through Nate's mind and his shaking grew worse.
"Scotty, I think someone needs help," Sam whispered to Scott as he was, quite likely, walking next to his brother. Maybe, if gorgeous wants, the younger twin gave his brother a light shove. "Go on, go be a super hero."
(Optional)
As he was likely near the front of the group anyway, a rather agitated Kenneth stepped towards Kasimir's side. His brows lowered. If they kept stopping, they wouldn't get to the ports in time to catch a ship. "Kasimir, what's going on?" The ketsuki muttered. "What happened?"
