Anderson allowed a soft smile to curl his features. "Kally, I would have suggested heading back if I didn't want to go with you." He tried giving his son's hand a comforting squeeze. If gorgeous wants, maybe they were close to the hotel now. Just maybe the automatic doors parted for the two, leading them into the lobby. "And I think I've been to a fair before. At least once." He eyed Kaleb for a moment before his smile grew. "You know, if we're ever near one, maybe I could take you. Maybe we could even see if your uncles would want to go with you. We just won't ask your brother, he might bite our heads off."

A bright smile lifted Kaleb's lips and he swung his and his and his father's arm back and forth. "That sounds fun! And don't worry about Ennet, M-" Kaleb turned the word into a hum and pulled him towards the elevator. "He's..." Kaleb's brow furrowed. "You know Kenny, Dad." His eyes filled with humor and he pushed a button for a floor, after checking his phone twice. "Maybe having so many kids he's just catching cold after cold." His lips curled at the thought. After a moment, his eyes softened and he smiled again, "Uncle Clyde would be very happy to hear that you called him uncle~"

"Oh, I'm sure he would be~" The ketsuki mused as he, maybe, tried pulling his son into the elevator when the doors opened. "It's not the first time. You should see his face when we're alone. It's as red as in apple." Anderson let out a content sigh. "Clyde can be adorable sometimes. Like your brother, you know? Prickly like a cactus most of the time, an adorable kitten the next." His brows fell for a moment when the subject switched back to his oldest. "Ah, Kally. I know you're close with your brother so if you could perhaps find out if there's anything in particular that's bothering him. It's not like your brother to be this agitated for this long so if there's any way to help.. We have to look out for our benevolent leader," he chuckled.

Sorrow pulled Kaleb's face and he stepped from the elevator, letting go of his father's hand. "I've been trying. Everyone thinks I have a special key inside Kenneth's mind, but he's..." Kaleb walked along the hallway, keeping his head down so his father couldn't read his expression. "He's... built a wall around himself. And he's not letting anyone in." Kaleb glanced up at his father, his eyes shining underneath the hallway's low light. "When we were younger--he did, right? He... he told me a lot. He did... now he..." Kaleb's voice died. "I guess it's selfish to ask we be as close... b-because..." Kaleb shook his head. "We're kinda like strangers now, I guess. I don't know. A couple of months after not seeing another for years it's..." He stopped by a door and pulled out his phone. "I'm sorry, Daddy... for... for being sad." Kaleb paused to give his father a glance. "I don't want us to be strangers, either. Please?"

Anderson's brows fell at his son's words. He paused and knelt down in front of Kaleb. "Do you think we're strangers, Kaleb?" The father asked, softly. "I know things were different at first but we're getting there. Like you said, a couple months together isn't going to erase our years apart. But you're my son. No matter how old or tall you get, you'll never be a stranger to me." A soft smile curled the ketsuki's lips. He tried to gently pinch Kaleb's cheeks before he stood and stepped back. "Do you know what room they're staying in?" He paused in momentary thought. "Is this the same friend that we met back at Clyde's manor? That old ketsuki?"

Eyes watering, Kaleb threw himself at his father. He wrapped his arms around him and closed his eyes. His chest ached, and the cavity between his ribs felt empty. Small questions built up in his throat, How different are you without Mom? Do you think of me as a stranger? How can you be so sure? But those were doubts and questions to consider another time. Slowly, Kaleb pulled back and he reached up to quickly wipe his eyes. "Mmhmm! Clyde's favorite person~" He giggled and brought out his phone again. "I let Malcolm know I'm here, so that it's not a surprise. And I told them you were here too." Kaleb danced on his toes and shot a grin up at his father. "Malcolm tells me there's someone to meet~ And that Gabriel looks cute. I'm super excited!"
Reaching forward, Kaleb held his hand just inches from the door. He checked his phone, again, making sure this was the right suite, hotel, and address. With a bright smile, he knocked.
Rolling back onto his heels, Kaleb shot his father another excited glance.
(option a)
Then the door creaked open. A small head peeked out before the door opened up. "Kaleb," Malcolm said, a small smile pressing his lips. "Timmy and Gabriel are-" Kaleb rushed forward and wrapped his arms around Malcolm. A surprised breath left Malcolm, but his arms wrapped tightly around Kaleb and he smiled brightly. "Hello! You're doing well?"
"Mmmhmm! Is Gabe still sleeping?" Kaleb paused and looked up at his father. "I think you remember, but Malcolm this is my dad, Anderson!"
"Hello, sir," Malcolm outstretched a shy hand for him.
(option b)
The door pulled open and a figure stood, not all that tall, against the the frame. His sharp eyes cut from Kaleb to Anderson before they softened with understanding. "You're who Malcolm's talking about." His pale skin dusted red and he stepped back. "I suppose... you should come in first thing. Malcolm's sitting with Gabriel." He held the door open for them.

(option a because Malcolm is so fucking cute)
Gods, could his small son get any cuter? Though, he smiled, figuring that if August was there, he would wrap the small child in his arms as well In fact, Anderson was surprised August hadn't tried visiting Nate yet. But a little Clyde did need someone to take care of him. "Ah, I remember you," Anderson chimed as he reached out to shake Malcolm's smaller hand. "It's nice to see you again, Malcolm. How have you been?"
"It sounds like Kaleb is here," Gabriel muttered from his seat on the bed, lifting his small hands to wipe away the lingering exhaustion that still clung to him. If Timothy was near him, the old ketsuki flashed his son a soft smile with a hint of a smirk curling at the edges of his lips. "Timothy, are you ready for everyone to discover that you're my son? It's not too late yet. I suppose I could open the window for you if you still wanted to escape." Though, it would truly be too late for the both of them if- well, when, actually -Ruse found out about Timothy. Despite himself and all his anxiety and cautions, Gabriel felt a spark of pride at the thought of showing his son off. It was something he had never been able to do.

(Clyde: I-... excuse me? I need what? I was fine, for three hundred years. Unlike you.)
Malcolm shook the man's hand and smiled shyly. "I've been great... because of Gabriel, and Timmy. They... they are really nice." His eyes flickered over to Kaleb and he nodded. "You can come inside. It's good to see you again, Kally."
"You're so cute Malcolm!" Kaleb chirped brightly. "Still very well dressed."
The boy blushed deeply and smiled shyly. "Thank you... come on in."
Timothy leaned against the wall next to the bed, a blush bright on his cheeks. There was no use saying he wasn't anxious, because his body screamed it. His eyes cut towards the voices and he shifted on his feet. "It's not that... I'm ashamed to be your son. It's not that. Definitely not that." He was afraid of not being good enough to be his father's child. As weird as a concept as that might be, Gabriel was a legend to him. And he was just... him. "Just... new people." He muttered under his breath.
"Gabriel!" Kaleb's voice through the room and he let out a high-pitched noise. "Oh, stars! You're--you're so cute! Gabriel!"

"I can't begin to describe how alike we are," Gabriel mused to his son before his ghostly eyes flickered to Kaleb. "Good evening, Kaleb. I'm glad that you made it." His eyes flickered up to Anderson who, as expected, stepped to his son's side. "And.. Mr. McCarther I presume. How are you? And how is Clyde?"
"Well, lately, he's been just about your size," the ketsuki mused.
"Oh?" Gabriel perked a brow.
Anderson shrugged his shoulders with a small smile. "I can't really go into details about what happened. Just that he's small, adorable, and I get to dress him up in children's clothes."
"Ah, I certainly understand that," the older ketsuki huffed. Certainly did he understand being dressed in children's clothes. That was all he had been able to wear. Not that he liked being the size of a small child. But.. he couldn't deny that it was nice being carried everywhere as if he were truly that small again.

Kaleb grinned brightly at the mention of Clyde. "You're both so cute!" He scrambled over to Gabriel to give him a quick hug, before he stepped back to stand beside his father. Because if it were Kaleb, he would feel awkward standing alone in a room of strangers. "Uncle Clyde's been super docile lately," a smirk twitched Kaleb's lips. "Maybe you'll get along. A little." He pinched his fingers together.
A snort left Timothy. Then his cheeks flushed deeply when Kaleb's eyes flickered towards him. Pushing himself off the wall, Timothy ignored the trembles of anxiety in his chest and stepped up towards Kaleb. He held out a hand and said, "Hello, I'm-" Timothy Harrison? Gabriel's son? Was it too weird to introduce himself so casually? Was it too weird to say a last name that Gabriel didn't associate with himself?
"Nice to meet you," Kaleb said slowly, an encouraging smile pulling his lips. "Kaleb McCarther."
"I-I hadn't meant to stammer," Timothy stammered hoped his hands weren't clammy. He pulled his hand back, his stomach churning uncomfortably. "I-I-"
Malcolm snickered. He scrambled onto the bed and wrapped his arms around Gabriel. "Someone's shy..." He sang softly.
A deeper blush filled Timothy's cheeks and he cut a glance towards Malcolm. Honestly, he should just jump out the window now. That sounded like a good idea. He flickered his gaze towards the window and briefly gauged the distance, and wondered if it would kill him.
