"Yet? You're quite the mischievous little troll, aren't you?" Anderson mused as he filled his cup. He moved away to grab himself a cap and a straw. "Make him something? Perhaps I could though I don't know what else I could possibly do." Especially if Anderson already went out and made kids for his brother and Clyde. How could he possibly top that? "One step at a time. I'll get him a slushy first." Anderson took a sip of his slushy, feeling a wave of cold wash over him from the drink. "You could always get one for your brother. Maybe that'll help with your negotiations."
"My, what a little imp I've taken in," Gabriel mused in a quiet voice that was growing tired. "Can you believe this mischievous little thing, Timothy? Perhaps we shouldn't get him any dessert the next time we go out for dinner. Ah, but maybe it's time we all headed off to bed." Despite himself, perhaps Gabriel found the strength to pull away from Malcolm and pulled himself up to the head of the bed where he pulled the blankets aside. "Come on, Malcolm, you first." His ghostly gaze flickered over towards where he assumed his son was sitting. "And Timothy is more than welcome to lay on the bed with us tonight if he so chooses."

(I am going to BS this so my apologies.)(There is also going to be a lot of powerplaying, I'm sorry-)
Kaleb somehow managed to get the door open with each hand full of a large slushee. He peered inside the room, with a gentle, "Kenny?" Before he could seek out his brother, Aeryn popped in front him, bouncing on her toes. "Hello Aeryn," Kaleb said brightly. Sometimes it was weird to think that he was an uncle, that Aeryn was his niece. It was even weirder to think that Elizabeth was his niece.
A wide grin filled her lips and she asked, "Is that for me?"
"No," Kaleb winced. "I'm sorry. It's for your dad! Aeryn, can you do a big favor for me? Will you go hang out with Grandpa? You, Austin, and Mithai? I think Grandpa really needs some company right now."
"Okay!" Aeryn turned and tried to gather her brothers. "Let's go, let's go!" She said brightly. "Grandpa needs us!"
If Dina wants, perhaps the children all rushed out of the room.
With a shy smile, Kaleb closed the door behind him and he headed over towards his brother. He wordlessly held out the slushee for Kenneth, as an offering.

Honestly, it probably never took much for Austin and Mithai to follow Aeryn. Austin would follow his sister anywhere and Mithai was only old enough to understand that his siblings were leaving the room and that he had to follow them. Kenneth, on the other hand, had been fighting for sleep when Kaleb had entered the room. He bit back an annoyed his, opting to clench his jaws for a silent frustrating moment before the muscles laxed. "I'm not in the mood," the ketsuki muttered, his voice as tired and drained as he felt. Which was odd, considering he had no reason to be tired.
No, he did have a reason. He did know.
Kenneth reached out for the slushee and set it on the nightstand beside his bed. "But thanks.. Is Anderson really in need of company or did you want to talk about something?" He asked, ever keen. Because, he figured, there had to be a reason as to why Kaleb sent his children away.

Kaleb felt shy. And awkward. He shouldn't. This was his brother, but he couldn't help but feel like a bother. "Dad," Kaleb quietly corrected from 'Anderson', "could always do with company. But... I did want to talk to you." Kaleb bit his lower lip, and tried to summon confidence. Part of him wanted to just cry and plead for his brother to be in a better mood. But he reminded himself that he was over eighty years old. Instead, he crawled onto the bed beside Kenneth and sipped at his slushee. He breathed in, nodded to himself, and looked Kenneth in the eye. "Kenneth... I want to make a deal with you. Or... to play a game of sorts, okay?" His heart stuttered in his chest. "It's really, really important to me that you do this. I know... I know I'm bothering you, but... please?" Kaleb took in a deep breath, trying for confidence he didn't have. "I just... you get to ask me any question. Anything at all. And I'll answer it. I explain everything, the answer will be thorough, and..." Kaleb's hands tightened on the slushee. "I'll be honest. But then I get to ask you a question, okay?" Kaleb's voice shook and his eyes watered. "Okay? You have to be just as honest... just... please?"

Kenneth's brows fell, suddenly feeling perplexed by his brother and this... game. The ketsuki pulled himself up, resting back against the headboard. "But how do you know I'll be honest?" He growled. This was all irritating him. He just wanted to sleep. "How do you know I'll tell you the entire truth?" He snorted, folded his arms across his chest. The only way he was going to get some sleep was if he complied to Kaleb's request, no matter how silly it seemed. "Alright, I'll play along, Kaleb, but I want to go first." His blood red eyes honed in on Kaleb, narrowing slightly. And for a moment, Kenneth wondered if perhaps Kaleb knew, knew something was wrong. "My question for you is why are you doing this, right now? Playing games?"

Anxiety plucked through Kaleb. He swallowed and reached a shaky hand out to grasp his brother's hand and gently squeeze it. "Because I trust you," Kaleb's voice cracked again. "To tell me the truth." He breathed out and let another wave of anxiety pass through him. "I wanted to play this game, so you… you would tell me what was wrong. Because something is wrong, Kenneth. I don't know what, and…" He looked into his brother's eyes, uncertainty shining in his own. "You don't trust me enough to tell me. I don't know why, but you don't. I don't understand because I'm your brother, and I… I just want to be here for you, and you… treat me like a stranger and I don't want that." Kaleb let out a choked breath and he let go of Kenneth to blink back his tears. "Please… please tell me what's wrong? I'm really, really worried. And the… the way you're acting… it hurts me." Kaleb tried to suck in another breath and he shook his head. "I just… want to help you…"

Kaleb's words settled heavily onto Kenneth, weighing onto his shoulders the same way this strange sickness did. A shaky breath tumbled passed his lips and he found himself looking away from his brother. He had to tell Kaleb, didn't he? He had to. Because Kaleb was right. Kenneth was treating Kaleb like a stranger and it wasn't long ago that the two had been close. Of all the people Kenneth had pushed away, had hurt, he had never meant to hurt his brother, not someone who had been so close and loyal to him. The ketsuki let out a heavy sigh, lulling his head back against the wood of the headboard, gaze downcast. "I'm sorry, Kaleb," Kenneth finally said. "I.. wasn't trying to hurt you or anyone else. I've just been so tired lately. I don't know if it's the sickness or..," his voice trailed off and he swallowed, unsure of how to continue. "I don't know, I don't know why I hid it but I'm so tired of being in pain all the time.."

"Pain?" Kaleb whispered. He quickly set his slushee aside and leaned forward to grasp his brother's hands. He held his brother's hands to his chest, worry shining bright in his eyes. "Kenny, what's hurting you?" His heart stammered in his chest. Though, despite his worry, Kenneth could probably feel a bit of happiness in Kaleb. It wasn't because Kaleb was a sadist. No, he was just happy his brother had told him. In fact, Kaleb didn't think he would. "Kenny, th-thank you for telling me," Kaleb whispered, his eyes filling with tears. "Thank you." Something hurting Kenneth would make a lot of sense. A lot.

Kaleb's happiness was the last thing on Kenneth's mind. There were definitely more pressing matters at the moment, one of them being that it was too late to back out now. Another being that he wished he had kept his mouth shut. Clearly it was too late for that. Kenneth threw the blankets that were covering him aside, shivering despite the room not being cold. The ketsuki hesitated, his gaze lifting to Kaleb once more before lifting his shirt to reveal the wound that had been a constant source of pain and aggravation. The wound was a bright angry red now, swollen and warm to the touch. The skin around the infection was red with red spots dotting much of Kenneth's side at this point. (Also probably really fucking nasty looking but I'm not going to look up those pictures again no thanks) "This happened a while ago," he hissed as another shiver broke through him. "At Clyde's, when all those men attacked. I couldn't... haven't bothered getting it looked at." Because he thought it would heal and go away on its own.

Kaleb reached out a shaky hand, but did not dare touch the wound. His eyes widened and he gave his brother a glance before covering his mouth with a hand. "Kenny, that... that really doesn't look good. It's... it's infected. You know that." Kaleb gently pulled his brother's shirt back down, and tried to pull the blankets up and around him again. His heart raced in his chest. "It's... it's not too late to get it checked. Kenneth?" Kaleb's mind raced. If he had gotten a scratch, would he have it checked? Probably not. But if it got this far...? Definitely. Kaleb didn't understand why his brother was so stubborn. Part of him wanted to be angry. Right now he needed to focus. "I-I'll look it up, to see if there's something..." Kaleb pulled out his phone, and he shook his head. "You... you don't want to go to Scott, do you? Or... to a clinic?"
"Hey." Hiro rolled onto the same bed as his father and poked his side. "Hey."
Kasimir smirked, waking from his nap. He peeled his eyes open, "Mm? Do you need something?"
"Maybe a new shirt, but, that's not why I'm waking you." Hiro tucked his legs underneath him and looked down at his phone. "I... really didn't mean to, but, I heard Kaleb talking to Kenneth. It's about why he's been so pissy lately. You know." Hiro shrugged. "I thought you might want to know." He looked at his father. "I can't really tell much, from what they're saying, but it sounds like Kenneth got stabbed and didn't say anything. And not it's infected. And it sounds bad."
"Dear gods," Kasimir threw himself off the bed. "Holy shit! The smell-" Shaking his head, Kasimir racked his fingers through his hair and gave Hiro a side-eyed glance. "Thanks... Hiro." He leaned over and gave his son a quick kiss on his brow. "I..." He sighed heavily through his nose. "I'm going to go tell Anderson. Because the gods know if I go dish out Kenneth right now, he'll make me stay quiet about it."
A smile filled Hiro's lips and he raised his brows, "Want me to bite you before you?"
Kasimir blushed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I have reason to fear that man. No, I'm fine. Unless you need some blood...?"
"No," Hiro shook his head. "No. Go ahead."
"Alright. Noah, please keep an eye on them," Kasimir said as he headed towards the door.
"I'm the oldest," Hiro muttered.
"Noah, don't let the children have too much candy," Kasimir smirked lightly as he left the room. Closing the door behind him, he paused in the hallway and took in a deep breath. He heard Hiro's laugh from inside the room, and knew it was because of the spark of fear that rose in him. Damn it. It shouldn't' be so frightening, to visit a friend's father. His cheeks filled with warmth as he remembered the 'mishap' he had with Anderson. Gods. Maybe he should send Hiro. Taking in a deep breath, Kasimir pushed himself down the hall. Within moment he found himself at their door.
Gods it would be just his luck if Clyde answered. He raised a hand and knocked on the door. Just tell him, then head to Kenneth. That's all. Just tell, then leave. It won't be anything.
