Sakari followed his friend back into his hut and when he arrived inside, he found the woman where they had left her though now she sat up, holding her small son to her chest.
The newborn infant was now sound asleep and the mother found herself worried. Her little son was so weak, so sickly.. What if something were to happen to him while he slept in the most peaceful of innocent dreams? Even still, none of this worry could be seen as it was hidden well by her mask that the members of her tribe all wore as tradition. When the two men came in, Tikani turned her head towards them and listened to their words. "No, I don't.. Go ahead," she said quietly, urging them to announce their decision. She thought about begging, seeing as how she thought they couldn't possibly take her back in, or at least begging them to take her son if she had to leave.

Years of watching his father and ruling himself, Eska learned how to read words without expressions to give away their meanings, he also learned how to feign emotion. Taking an even breath, he nodded, "You need to recover. We are not heartless. Seeing as what had happened was not of your own doing, then their should be no reason to send you to a crude death, nor your son. Sakari will need room for when others have injury, or sickness. This means that you will need someone who is trustworthy to take care of you, and who will not feel the burden of extra mouths to feed. You will stay at my home and I will take care of you. You won't have to worry about anyone hostile, no one would dare try anything, unless they think it worth the consequences."
Eska dipped his head, "Sakari will of course visit often. Do you have any objections?"

It took a long time for words to form in the young woman's throat. For a long time, all she could feel was surprise, shock. She could stay? "N-no..." Tikani finally mustered. "No, I don't..." She felt her eyes water in both defeat and relief. She could stay in the village but either way she would be alone raising a sickly little son, with no husband to help.
Finally remembering her manners, Tikani dipped her head in a sort of bow and remained as such for a few silent moments. "Thank you so much... for letting us stay.. Thank you."
Sakari stepped forward, watching the scene till he broke the silence that he found to be suddenly extraordinarily heavy. "Eska, do you wish to move her to your home now or should we wait?"

The chief considered this for a few moments before dipping his head in a nod, "If you think she would be alright to move then yes. She might as well get use to the hut." For a few moments he paused; was the hut a mess? Usually not. A scowl wrote on Eska's face. "And a roommate. My brother lives with me too. If there's a mess, it's his fault." One might remember a time, when Eska wouldtease his little brother, even without him around, and pull a laugh from his listeners, leaving Dusty red-faced and stuttering.
Easing his tone, he said, "But we will try to make things as comfortable for you as possible. And your son." With that, he gave a glance to Sakari. "How should she be moved? Shall someone carry her and the other the child, or do you think she would only needaid?"

The shaman gave a shrug, momentarily stepping to the side so he could fix some of his stock that was in disarray. "That depends how she feels now, if she's up to walking now or if she's too tired." Sakari glanced back at Tikani. "Well, how do you feel now?"
"I don't really want to bother you anymore than I have-" She began, now feeling uncomfortable with all this unnecessary attention.
Except the Inu shaman was not about to have any of it. He dismissed her words with a wave of his hand. "No, don't worry about it. I understand if you're tired and if so, Eska can carry you," his voice seemed to carry to playful smirk as he glanced at his friend. "And I can carry your son or you can." He beckoned his friend over. "Come over here, Eska. Let's start moving her now before it starts to snow again."

Eska caught onto the smirk and it nearly triggered on of his own, but he was unsure of Sakari's motives. "What a pushy healer." With that, he carefully went to Tikani's side. "I don't wish to make you uncomfortable." His light purple eyes searched Tikani's. "Since we will be spending time with another, feel free to ask any questions and ask me for anything. I hope my carrying you does not cause you discomfort." He reached a strong but gentle arm around her back then braced her. Carefully, he moved to make her stand.
Holding her up, if he could, he reached down to catch Tikani under her knees to carry her. "Now, how is that?" His breath, only slightly labored, was the only sign that gave away his effort. "Well, Sakari, shall we?"

Tikani was fine in Eska's arms and said nothing, nor complained. I mean, if you didn't have to walk anywhere either, there's nothing you'd complain about. Instead she shifted slightly before settling down. She was too tired to say anything anyway. And the lil babe slept on, not at all concerned with what was going on in the wide world.
After grabbing a few supplies to leave with Eska, Sakari went to hobble out of his hut so they could make the journey to Eska's hut. "Do you know if your brother is home, Eska?" But he was hoping that Dusty wouldn't be there. He didn't like interacting with his betrothal-save for times when they planned ways to further delay their wedding- and would be even more awkward with the chief around. Poor Dusty and Sakari.

Eska followed after his friend, tilting his head in curious gesture. "That is something I am not sure of." He took a couple steps in the snow before he heard approaching steps. He glanced to the side and caught the familiar mask of a fox. His foot steps were careful as he approached, as if he were trying to read the air for any tension.
"So this is the Monster Bringer?" The male tilted his head.
"Don't call her that," Eska growled. "Her name is Tikani. Our new roommate. Tikani-"
"I'm Irdlirvirisissong-"
"Bless you," Eska said lightly. "Tikani, this is Dusty."
"Eska for Cadoc's-"
"You didn't make a mess of the hut, have you? Run ahead and clean up a space for her. Take out an extra bed for her." Eska nodded ahead.
A groan left Dusty, "I didn't make a mess, Eska." He sighed and shook his head. He headed ahead of them, muttering angrily under his breath. For a small awkward moment he gave a small wave and muttered a hello to Sakari.

Perhaps Sakari acknowledged the greeting with a nod of his head but he couldn't help but chuckle. "Bless you," he repeated with a small laugh. "Oh Eska, we can always count on you to remind your brother of his place," but that too was a joke. He soon got down to business and perhaps started walking again. "If you insist on taking care of her yourself as well, I brought some herbs for you to use for when I am busy or it isn't time to check on her. I will visit daily but you should use these in the morning." Another smile that carried on his voice. "I hope you can manage that all by yourself."

Hearing his friend laugh made Eska's own lips twitch up slightly. He felt more mischievous, his old self flickering through him at Sakari's teasing words. "Oh I don't know, Saka, you know how simple minded I am. It might be too much for me. I would ask Dusty but you and I both know that he is..." He let his voice drop off to let the other two fill in. Then, with more seriousness, he said, "Will you show me how to use them? Here we are." He nodded toward the great hut that was that of the chief's. In it, Dusty scrambled to make a bed for the new comer.
