"Nice place," Sakari mutthered though he had probably seen the hut and been inside it many times before. "And my offer to trade places still stands, Eska." But then his air of seriousness returned, momentarily of course. "Yes, of course I will show you how. It is easy though, Eska. I wouldn't give you this task if I thought only someone with experience could do this." Shadow doesn't know if the huts had drapes or doors but whatever the case, maybe Sakari held the 'door's open for Eska so he could step inside with ease. Tikani, though, had probably fallen asleep or at least half asleep for her hold on her little son was still strong.

A snort--the closest thing to a chuckle from Eska--left the chief at Sakari's words. "Thanks. I did some remodeling." He nodded his thanks to Sakari and stepped inside. Dusty just finished with the bed and started picking up stray clothes, throwing them into baskets. He glanced up at Eska, waiting for approval. "Good job," Eska murmured, ever so gently placing Tikani onto the bed. "I will set something safe up for the baby-"
"Baby!?" Dusty whimpered. "Oh come on! Eska!"
"Sleep with Sakari then if it bothers you," Eska arched an eyebrow under his mask as he moved the blankets around Tikani, not bothering to wake her again.
Dusty quieted right then, as if Eska had threatened to cut his head off if he didn't shut up. It worked just as well. Then, ever so gently, Dusty said, "Babies are cool." He finished cleaning up the hut and crossed his arms, purposely avoiding Sakari. "I mean kids, who doesn't love them? Alright, big bro, what else?"
"Sakari, how is it these herbs are put on?" Eska sat up, glancing up at him. "You two could at least pretend to like each other."

The shaman shook his head. "No, it's hard to even pretend, Eska." He limped forward and took a second to set himself down. Adjusting himself now, Sakari set the herbs down by the sleeping Tikani and he lifted the blanket to reveal her injured leg. He went on to instruct the chief how to put the herbs on that would continue to help fight the infection. And when he was done, Sakari adjusted the blankets and stood. "And I will work on making something for the child that will help him fight off sickness, which will be a challenge since he's too young for solids. Just keep him warm and out of the cold, but let him breathe too.."
Before he could go on with anymore information, there was a knock on the doorway of the hut. It was Kiya, having returned from the patrol/look out herself or simply relaying the news. She knocked only because it would be terribly rude to barge into the chief's home. "Chief Eska?" The huntress called, carrying her unarmed bow in one hand. "I have the report from the patrol that had been sent out."

Eska swallowed arguments and listened to his friend. He nodded and made sure to pay attention, storing it into his memory. The knock at the door made him rise to his feet. "Yes, Kiya, you may come in." He glanced over to find Dusty building up a fire before hestepped over to the doors and held one open for Kiya. "What is there to report?"
"That you're terribly over-cautious and way too commanding?" Dusty muttered, picking at the coals.
Eska glanced back at Dusty, "Perhaps you should hunt more. Before any argument, shush, please, for a moment. Far more important matters are going on than your wants, Dusty." A sigh left Dusty and he ignored his brother, poking at the fire, muttering to himself about wanting to patrol or fight.

Kiya stepped into the hut and dipped her head politely to her chief. "We haven't spotted any monsters since the incident, Chief and we haven't encountered any on patrol." She lifted her head up when she was done giving the report. For a moment, her flushed green eyes drifted over to the sleeping form of Tikani, as well as the sleeping baby that rested soundly on his mother's chest. Kiya thought about asking Eska if he was worried at all that the newcomer would draw the monsters closer to the village but she thought better of it. Instead, she asked. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

Eska turned his head away, thoughtful. "If there is noth-" Dusty let out a yelp, back peddling from the fire. He shook his hand and growled under his breath. "Come here," Eska ordered his younger brother. Knowing better than to fight with his brother now, Dusty complied and gave his hand to Eska so he could examine it. "Be careful, would you?" The tenderness in his voice caused Dusty to smile.
"So no more monsters? Need any more patrols?" He let his eyes flicker to Kiya.
"No, in fact... Kiya, if you are not too tired, would you go out hunting with Dusty? For the newcomer. I don't wish to leave the two alone for too long," Eska glanced over at her.

What? Hunting with Dusty? The one who failed terribly every time it came to proving whether or not he was ready to be considered a man? Oh, this was quite irksome... But Kiya could say nothing now, no. Not in front of the leader and the shaman. Hiding her begrudging feelings, she could only say, "Yes, of course. We can leave right away if he doesn't mind." She was already ready anyway, still carrying her bow around and her quiver of arrows strapped to her back.

(LOLOL Kiya!)
Eska nodded towards her and glanced at Dusty who glared at him. "Would you stop treating me like an inconvenience, chief?" A snort left Eska, he shook his head and walked over to Sakari, standing next to him. "Alright, I'm ready. Kiya, right?" Dusty pulled on gloves and reached for bow and some arrows. "You don't have to do this. I'm fine with wandering around."
"I actually want food this time, Dusty," Eska called to him.

Except Kiya didn't answer him and walked out of the hut, dipping her head one last time to the chief and shaman before leaving. Once outside, she sighed quietly and allowed her shoulders to slump. This was going to be disastrous because he'll just get in the way. You know, typical 'I'm one of the best hunters' attitude just showing through. Remember she fan be a bully to people though so good luck, Dusty.
Even the shaman had visible doubts but maybe Sakari knew Dusty wasn't that bad of a hunter because most of the time, the bad hunring was just sabotage. He laughed softly though, muttering joking words quietly to his friend. "If he does bring anything back, we'll know who it really was."

It's alright. Dusty is a good sport, especially growing up with Eska, but since his brother was out of sight, the childish atmosphere left him. When he got out and saw her slouching, his eyes narrowed. He stopped right next to her and said softly, "Well should we be going? I can tell you are so excited." A sigh left his lips as he walked ahead of her. This is going to be just great.
Eska felt another almost-smile twitch his lips, "Ah yes. He probably is glad that he doesn't have to hunt with me. It mostly ends with me losing my patience." He stretched then shook his head, glancing at Sakari. "I know you aren't quite at terms with it all, Saka," Eska said softly, if Sakari was sitting, he lowered himself down next to him. "And you don't want to talk about it... but you should at least be friends with him, if nothing else."
