Her eyebrows furrowed at his comment and if she could, she surged forward to catch either his collar or shoulder or whatever she could grab if she could. "Listen, don't get in my way and you'll be alright," her words came out in a harsh snarl. Her bear mask fit her personality well. And with that, she let him go and stormed passed him as quickly as she could, eager to get their hunt over with.
Sakari can't really stand in one spot for long so he probably sat down as soon as Kiya came in. He eyed his friend, looking as if he were seeing an alien. But his gaze dropped and he found himself staring at the fire. "No, Eska, I can't. I can't be happy or friendly to someone I'm supposed to spend the rest of my life with that I don't want to. No."

Dusty felt his mouth twist up in anger, his eyebrows furrowed but he did nothing but tread after her. Kiya. Kiya Kiya Kiya... Before the fifth step after her, his annoyance had mostly left him. A part of him understood, he wasn't the ideal hunting partner. As soon as he caught up, he glanced at her, "Where to first?"
Eska let out a long sigh, shaking his head. "Getting out of this... Sakari, it's not a choice. You should stop seeing it as a sentence and more of a life-long commitment to a friend." Then, he leaned back and pulled his mask away, only to reach up and rub his eyes before placing it back on. "How are you? Is your leg treating you alright?"

"We're going to the lake to hunt first," she announced but didn't bother looking back at Dusty. She figured she'd be doing most of the hunting anyway. With this in mind, Kiya was totally prepared to ignore Dusty's presence through the entire trip. "Then the river, where ever we can find food."
Since they were friends, Sakari lifted his mask to glare at the chief. "You don't understand, Eska. What do traditions mean if they only make your life worse? Why do it if it doesn't make anyone happy?" Such a good shaman.. Pissed at his tribe's own traditions. Oh well, he sighed, leaned back on his hands and shifted his legs. "It's been fine, if not agitated from all these snowstorms we've been having...."

It was probably more than easy to ignore Dusty. Already he wondered if he should just sneak away and let Kiya take care of it--thenhe shivered and remembered his brother. He didn't even dare to think of what his brother would do if he found out. As smoothly as pulling on a coat, Dusty shifted into his leopard form and dashed in front of Kiya. He paused for a moment, giving her a daring look before turning and rushing out of the village to head towards the lake.
Eska reached up and pulled off his own mask, to show Sakari his own worn face. "My friend," Eska started in a quiet voice. "Our parents are the ones who birth us and raise us. They fight hard through the winters to raise us. Who am I to step up and break something so sacred upon our tribe. Destiny is said to have been laid out for us..." His eyes cut through his gibberish and gleamed with painful sorrow, his eyebrows gently pulling together. "I made a friend and love in my betrothal. And she is gone. With her leaving, it made me who I am, as painful as it is. Perhaps there is destiny for you with my brother." With that, Eska turned his head away, to hide the emotion on his face.

Kiya glared angrily at Dusty but followed suit, transforming into her own leopard form because it was much easier to travel through the snow. Though the irritation that flared from her could definitely melt the snow around her if it could. How are these two ever supposed to fall in love? Oh well, it will happen. Shadow says we can skip to them getting there and hunting and the moose incident can happen~
"Whatever you say, chief," Sakari murmured, glaring now at the fire. "I'm just not very happy with destiny as you could say.." Instead of going on with his own angry problems, the shaman suppressed said feelings and his anger melted into a soft sympathy as his eyes flickered over to his friend. "How have you been, Eska?" It was more of a question asking if he was still hurting or something. Shadow doesn't know..

In the thick of trees, the hunter tread the snow carefully. His bow string pulled slightly for movement. If sabotage wasn't always his goal, he wouldn't be too bad of a hunter. But passing the test meant that marriage with another man became definite, and even if it cost him his pride, he'd rather be unbound to another. As he stepped forward, movement startled him from behind. He turned and accidentally let an arrow loose as he stepped back.
A fox scuttled from out underneath a bush, sprinting past Dusty's boots. "Oh. Those monsters have be on a buzz..." Dusty muttered to himself. He turned on his heal, only to slip on the ground where he stood. Behind him, a small steep of snow gave away, causing him to fall down with it. Landing in the snow on his back, Dusty fought for a few moments to regain his breath. Then the snow beside him shifted. Shaking out of the snow rose great antlers, and attached to an even greater moose. "Oh for Cadoc's-"
Immediately the moose reared up and out of the snow. Dusty abandoned the snow and made a run for it, but the moose quickly caught up. The great antlers struck hard at Dusty, catching his chin and ripping the mask free from his face. A yelp left Dusty as he too was thrown into the snow, his heart hammering in his chest.
Eska paused, raising his face to Sakari. "I am breathing, Sakari. I am fairing. Each day I get better, and I swear that to you." Eska then tried to brave the tiniest of smiles for his friend, to ease his worries. "How are you, Sakari?" His light purple eyes fell away towards the stranger. "Your leg, is it bothering you?" Eska reached up to rub his hand across his face, as if to relieve the emotion from it.

Lucky for little Dusty that Kiya was hunting nearby when she heard the commotion going on. Perhaps it didn't take her long to get where ever Dusty and the moose were. Of course the thought that first crossed the huntress's mind was how great it would be to bring home a moose. Oh well, anyway, it was time for strategy. Moose have rather bad eyesight so it wouldn't see an arrow or two..
Kiya settled into a spot further away but still close enough. She held up her bow and slid two arrows onto the string. The string was pulled and released the two arrows. Cloudy can decide what happens.
"Stiff, irritated from all the snowstorms we've been having lately.." Sakari fell silent for a moment until he was distracted by a soft sound. The newborn that was once sleeping peacefully on top of his mother let out a few whimpers, opening his eyes to this new world. He whimpered once more before he opened his mouth and began to cry out.

Just as the moose let out another angry yowl and moved to charge again, arrows sliced through the air and hit the moose--perhaps one clear shot through the eye. After a few loping moments, the moose collapsed to the ground. Dusty, on the ground, crawled back a few paces, breathing heavily.
Pain ached his side--cracked ribs? He didn't know. Already he could feel the bruises of the attack forming. Glancing around, Dusty looked for the source of the arrows. But he already knew. Breathless, he called, "Kiya!" Then he let out a breathless laugh, falling back onto the snow. "You saved me... I owe you!"
Eska gave his friend a sympathized glance before he heard the child. "Looks as if he is awake." He paused for a moment before moving carefully on his knees to lift the child into his arms. The hard edges of his face softened as he looked at the whimpering child, he moved back to Sakari's side and gently rocked the baby, cooing to it. To Sakari, he said softly, "How about a mask for the child...?"

Kiya lowered her bow and took a slow step towards Dusty. She couldn't hide her anger and scoffed. "What were you doing?! We're supposed to be hunting! Not messing around!" Even still, the huntress walked towards him and maybe offered him a hand up. "You're lucky you weren't killed right away, which how heavy and strong moose are..." Kiya paused for a moment before speaking again. "You might want to look for your mask before we go."
"But Eska," Sakari began, glancing up at his friend but then his eyes dropped down to the still crying baby. "That's something the mother and father of the child are supposed to do together." He crossed his legs when his limp leg was becoming stiff. "When she gets better, I'll sit down and advise (?) her." (Idk, we should work on their culture and stuff like that together so we know what we're talking about. XD ) Surprisingly though, the rocking motion seemed to soothe the irritated child and his cries settled down to soft whimpers. Even still, the little one had his eyes glued on the strange man that held him.

(I'msorryIcanonlydosomuchwithachargingmoose)
Dusty felt his lips turn down in his anger, his eyes narrowing up at Kiya, he was about to respond before he felt the nakedness of his face. Heat flared and crawled up his neck, reddening his cheeks. "Oh. Oh. Cadoc..." He rested his head in his hand before shaking his head. Embarrassment flickered through him. "G-Good idea. Yeah." Shakily, he stood up and brushed off the snow, moving past Kiya to look for his mask, then he paused and turned on her.
"Hey," his eyebrows pulled tightly together. "For one thing, watch yourself, would you? I haven't done a single thing to you." He stepped to move closer to her, face-to-mask, "Stop acting like I'm a child, because I'm not." He turned and stepped past the moose. "Take to credit that I am the chief's brother." His eyes glanced around for the mask.
(We do XD I dunno XD)
Sadness filled Eska's face and softly he said, "But I don't think this little guy has a father, Sakari." Then, he gave a soft smile to the child. "My my, aren't you a curious little one..." He sang a verse to a song softly to the child--one that his own mother once sang to him. After the verse, he tilted his head, "He's darling, isn't he, Sakari?"
