Under the surace, a young orca swam through the water. A smaller flash of white swam around the orca, all of it a game. An excited cry left the orca, and the two raced to the surface. In a powerful explosion, the orca and the seal broke through the surface. Mid-way through the air, both sea creatures fell away and turned into two children. Laughter raised the air, the two children fell))0 back down towards the water but one didn't make it. The child with white hair smashed into a floating barrel. A painful cry left him before he slipped under the water.
The other child crashed into the water and the hastily broke the surface. "Kida!" He cried. Before he could dive underneath the surface, the white-haired child broke the surface, coughing. He swam over to the barrel and clung onto it. Quickly, the black-haired child swam to him, worry shining in his eyes. "Kida, are you okay?"
"Stupid barrel... who leaves a barrel in the middle of the ocean?" Kida grumbled quietly. With his brother's help, he pulled up onto the barrel and straddled it. Then, he lifted his shirt to glance at his chest. "Only a little bit of bruises. Kyru, I'm hungry," Kida complained.
A grin lifted Kyru's lips. "Well, where there's a barrel, there's a ship, right? I wonder if there was another pirate attack. Come on, Kida." He dove into the water amd transformed once again. A groan left Kida. He slipped back into the water and swam after his brother. As soon as he had a hold on Kyru's fin, Kyru began swimming through the water. It didn't take them long to see the remains of the ship. Shielded by floating pieces of wood, both Kida and Kyru, in human form, surveyed the scene. Kyru glanced at Kida, "Stay here, I am going to see if there is anything good to eat."
Kyru dove into the water before Kida could complain. His stomach growled quietly as he swam through the debris. He finally made it to one of the more larger portions of the floating ship and waited to make sure the coast was clear before crawling onto it. He crouched down and glanced around, looking for food. And then he spotted it. Oh glorious food! Apples!
Excitement drove Kyru towards the stacks of left-over food. He grabbed an apple and threw it into his mouth, and with his other hand he searched for anything else that he could steal for Kida.

Along the disheveled wreckage and the floating make-sift ranks composed entirely of wood walked a man. Limped was a better work to describe the way he walked. He limped carefully from one piece of wreckage to another, his heart sagging, like his shoulders. The ship was destroyed, much of the crew had been lost. They were stranded at sea. What hope, if any, was left?
The man, the captain of the ruined ship, let out a defeated sigh. For a moment, he stopped walking and feebly let his head lull back so he could glance up at the sky. What for, exactly? He didn't know.. A sign, another ship, something.
Suddenly, a strange new smell filled his nose, mixing with the already present scent of the salty air and sea. Curious, the man glanced towards where he thought the smell was coming from. From where he stood, jagged, splintered wood blocked his sight. He then decided to take it upon himself and began walking towards the source of the scent.
When he had finally made his way over there, the sight surprised him. A child? Where on earth had this child come from? There was not a moment to spare, the little demon was stealing their food!
The captain stepped forward even more, his olive green eyes narrowing. "What do you think you're doing, kid? That's the only food we have left!"

Kyru didn't jump, or even act guilty. He stepped away from the food and took another bite out of it before lifting the rest of the apple up for the man to expect. "Do you want some?" A bright grin liftes his lips, but his heart raced. From the looks of the man, he didn't appear as if he could harm Kyru, but Kyru found his heart racing. He tried to rearrange his messy, wet black hair so he could look up at the men and get a better look.
Well, if the man didn't look good, Kyru didn't look any better. The child wore raggedy clothes that were soaking wet and falling off his frame. His bright blue eyes danced to the side as he tried to see if Kida could be seen. Kyru couldn't see him, so he guessed that his brother stayed hidden as asked. He then glanced back at the man and took another bite of the apple. "You can have the rest," Kyru promised as he took another bite, chewing and swallowing quickly. But not before long, only the cob was left. Kyru stared at it, and then lifted it as an offering to the man.
"Oh, oh! This your food?" Kyru wasn't stupid. He was buying time. For what? He didn't know. Kyru eyed the cob and then decided that he wanted to eat the whole thing. Now all he had to offer the man was a stem. "This isn't a good share... okay, how about," Kyru took out another apple. "We share this one!?" He grinned up brightly at the man.

Despite the child's grin, no such grin lifted the edges of Marco's lips. He fought off the urge to sigh and knelt down carefully, wincing as he adjusted the arm he kept tightly wrapped around his chest. "Kid, I'm not in the mood to play games. My men and I need that food. It's all we have left." He used his good hand to motion to the area around him. "As you can see, we're in no position to lose anymore."
His gaze flickered back to the boy, but his gaze softened. The pirate captain couldn't muster up the strength to yell at a child. "Just.. just take that apple then and get out of here. I have enough to be concerned about." Marco stood again, but let his gaze wander from the child to the vast sea that surrounded them.

Kyru instantly felt the grin on his face dim. He watched the man in front of him, and as the men's words went on, he began to feel guilty. "You shouldn't strain yourself if you're hurt." Kyru said quietly. He glanced around them too, and then glanced up at the man. He moved forward and wrapped his arms tightly around the man. "Thank you, I'm sorry about your-" And then there was a splash. Kyru flinched away from the man so he could get a better look, but it was too late. A flash of white leaped onto the wood and then skidded to a hault by their feet. The baby seal cried out happily and shifted into a boy, who then took a bite out of the apple in Kyru's hand. Kyru frowned and said, "Are you stupid, Kida!?"
"Not entirely," Kida said through a mouthful of apple. Kyru gently handed the apple to his brother. "That actually hurt my stomach, I think it's because of earlier. See the bruises?" Kida pulled his shirt up. His stomach was now splotched with dark bruises from when he landed on the barrel. "Apple!" Kida savored and took another bite. A shiver shook his body and he pressed himself to Kyru's side to hide from the wind.
"Kida! I told you to stay? What if I was captured? Or worse, dead? You would have fallen right into a trap! Don't you even listen to me!?" Kyru sighed at his brother, unable to stay too angry for too long. He glanced up at the man. "Thank you for sparing food, I'm sorry for stealing. Is there anything you need? Help? Do you know where the closest land is?"
"Mm," Kida let go of Kyru and lazily threw his arms around the man. "Thank you for apple..." Kida mumbled, seemingly in heaven with his fruit.

As carefully as he could, Marco tried to pry himself away from the white-haired twin. Suddenly being hugged by these children, strangers, was a bit unsettling. "If I knew where the closest land was, we wouldn't be here. Instead, we're stranded in the middle of the sea." If Marco had been able to pull away from Kida, then he just went to sit down again, for a moment surrendering to the exhaustion that had settled upon him, weighing down his shoulders. "There's nothing you can help with unless you can get another boat to come help us.."
And then, he suddenly realized something. His gaze darted from Kida to Kyru. "Wait.. What are two kids like you even doing out in the middle of the ocean?"

Kida frowned when the man pulled away, so he turned to his brother. Kyru took the man sitting as an invitation to sit down himself. He did so by the food, but then he thought better of it and scooted so he sat in front of the man. Or, near him. The man couldn't reach out and hit him, but probably kick him. Kida shivered and clumsily crawled into his brother's lap. Kyru instantly wrapped his arms around his brother and tried to warm him. Now Kida took the opportunity to look at the man, "We swam! Mmhmm. A long time ago there was a scary storm and Kyru and me got lost. How long ago was it, Kyru?"
"I don't know," Kyru tried to squeeze the water from Kida's clothes. "How old do we look?"
"I look twenty!" Kida smiled brightly.
Kyru let out a giggle because of his brother's silliness, but he then realized that they just gave confusing answers to the man. "I'm Kyru, this is my twin brother Kida. We're anigma. I'm an orca, and Kyru is a seal." Then his stomach gave a large growl. "But I eat a lot. We could probably find a ship for you."
"Kyru?" Kida mumbled, turning his face into his brother's chest. "I miss Mom and Dad..."
Kyru's grin dimmed and he pushed his face into Kida's head. "I know." He whispered this, not wanting to pull strangers into their problems, but how long had it been since they had someone else to talk to? "You're the nicest person I've met raiding ships~" Kyru complimented Marco. What a compliment.
(Ignore the longness, it's because I have two charries xD)

Why did it hurt him so much to watch these children be sad and miss their parents? Was it because his scars were still bleeding? Was it because his own little son was dead? Poor Marco bit his lip and glanced away from the two for a moment. "I'm glad, I guess.. If that's the case, then you'd never have guessed you stumbled upon a pirate ship." The captain snorted with disgust at his own words. Even still, being associated with pirates was not something he wanted. "I'm Marco Nolan... Nice to meet you, Kida and Kyru."

"Pirates?" Kyru glanced over at Marco and raised his brows. Not that one could really see, his hair was too long. A smile tugged at his lips, as if he were laughing at the word pirates, but that wasn't it.
Kida had his own trying-not-to-laugh smile. Except, he could resist, "Your last name should be--"
Kyru covered his mouth and let his head fall back with laughter filling his throat, "No, Kida. No, shh... I was trying to resist. He probably gets it all the time." Kida sleepily let out a giggle and closed his eyes. "Are you going to sleep?" Kyru watched his brother. Kida gave a small nod and smiled before letting his body still. "Okay, Kida, you can close your eyes for a little..." Kyru then glanced back at Marco. "Marco," Kyru looked around him. "Who is the captain? I don't want Kida to get hurt, and I'm not sure if he--" Slowly, Kyru glanced back at Marco. "--would be as accepting.... as you. For stealing food." He opened his mouth and took in a breath as if he were going to ask something, but then he let it close and allowed Marco time to answer.

The captain didn't look as amused as the kids had been. Really, it wasn't like he didn't know what they were going to say. A deep frown had set in but he said nothing until he figured they were done. And then he heard Kyru speak his concerns about the captain not being accepting as Marco. "I am the captain," Marco muttered, bringing his knees up and wrapped his one good arm around his legs. "You shouldn't be worried. The crew knows better than to try anything, so they won't." Or he would probably kill them if they did try anything. He shrugged. "You're just lost children looking for food. Rest, if you want. None of us are going anywhere."
