She shrugged. "I haven't been in this area for a while. But since work led me near this place, I thought I'd stop by." Her bright green eyes turned back to glance around at the home. "Because this used to be my home too." Aliyah looked back at Landon, smiling again. "You've done a good job fixing this place up. I thought it had burned down completely."

Landon shrugged at her compliment, sheepishly. He waited till she was done speaking before asking, "Do you want to see the rest of it?" He looked around him before glancing at her. "I'm still touching up on things, but feel free to look around. I fixed up the kitchen, and dining room. Most of the damage wasn't on the inside, but there are a couple rooms that collapsed..." He glanced at her. "You said work? Where do you work?" Landon probably hasn't seen much of the singer's face, and he most likely didn't remember the artist's name.

Aliyah nodded, perhaps leaning back against the wall if she was close enough. Ignore that part if she wasn't. Shadow doesn't know the layout of the home. "Well, instead of telling you, you can come see me tonight if you want. I'm in town for a concert tonight." Now, Shadow doesn't know if she'd be carrying the tickets with her. If she did, then maybe she went to give one to Landon, holding it out for him to take. why she carried them with her, Shadow didn't know. Maybe they gave them to her and she hadn't stopped at her hotel yet. Shadow doesn't know. "It's at the concert hall in the city nearby. You don't have to dress up, but maybe black pants and a dress shirt?"
Let the cuteness begin.

Landon reached out to take the ticket and studied it in confusion. It looked legit. A part of him wondered how many people would be there, and exactly where she would be in this concert. Most likely, she was inviting him, right? But this was where she worked. A singer critique? He watched her closely. Cloudy doesn't know the layout either. Just look at an orphanage layout. "Thank you, I've never been to a concert. And I will..." He glanced down sheepishly. "Clean up. When is it?"

She probably wouldn't tell him she was the singer. It'd be more fun if he found out later. Her smile brightened when he said he'd go, or if what he said really implied he'd go. This was probably the first time she'd ever really invited a friend- should she call him a friend- to one of her concerts. "It starts at 8:30 but try to be there a little earlier so it doesn't get too crowded and you can get to your seat." She fell silent for a moment, still smiling. Aliyah then glanced around, trying to catch a glimpse of the time by looking outside. Her gaze then flickered back up to Landon and her smile lessened. "I probably should go soon so I can get ready for tonight. So.. see you there?"

His brows lifted. "Oh, um, yeah. Of course, I will be there." Surrounded by strangers? At least it was a concert. Another hint of a smile lifted his lips and nodded his head. "Want me to show you out?" Landon headed out of the room. "I didn't mean to show any disrespect by living here." Heroes were suppose to be chivalrous too? Oh, wait. That was knights. Landon waited for her, and if she came, he walked her to the door and held it open for her. "See you." Now the hint grew into a smile--not a grin. No teeth showed, but it was a smile nonetheless.

Aliyah did follow him as he led her out. "No, It's okay. I understand why you stay here. If you were a stranger though, that would have been different." A soft laugh that faded quickly. She stepped out of the home, maybe, and looked back at him to wave. It would be nice seeing him at her concert, but would they ever see each other after that? She didn't linger on those thoughts and instead headed back in the direction of the city, now looking forward to the performance that night.
(What now?)

(Skip)
Just as Aliyah said, at 8:30, the concert hall filled with many patrons anticipating the night's performance. Soon, the large auditorium was filled and sooner, the lights faded and the concert began. A couple hours later, the lights faded back on and the performance ended with a final note and a roar of applause, whistles, and cries for an encore.
Now, the night was fading and the people left, heading home. The performer spent the last few minutes in the auditorium back stage in the dressing room, cleaning the make-up off of her face and changing. The other people who worked for Aliyah bid her farewell and left for the night. Soon, she was alone. No one stopped to wonder if they should walk her back to her hotel. It wasn't their fault, it wasn't hers either, no one ever anticipated any problems.
Finally, she was the last to leave. Aliyah took the back entrance, stepping into a quiet alleyway before closing the door behind her. She paused for a moment, pulling her jacket she wore tighter around herself in an attempt to keep out the chill of the night before heading back to her hotel for the night. The tired syreni wanted nothing more than to take a relaxing bath before heading to bed. Too bad she wasn't aware that a peaceful night was not at all in her stars.

Landon probably never had been more shocked in his life. The crowd? He hated it. But as soon as the music started, he found he could lose himself in it. It was her. Her voice. Her face. Watching her on stage made him feel so lame. The literally only accomplishing thing he did in his life was rebuild, slightly, an old orphanage then use it for himself. And there she was, on stage, with fans screaming around them.
Landon's sad eyes and lonely face lightened up a bit as she sang. He knew that most likely she couldn't see him, but he wanted her to know that he came, and that he was thankful for inviting him. The only problem? Aliyah being this accomplished in life made him feel very small, and even shyer. After the concert, he found that the guards wouldn't let him through. Apparently his ticket wasn't proof that she knew him, which annoyed and relieved him. Waiting out front wasn't really a choice, only because of all the people flooding the area. He squeezed through the huge crowd, and squeezed into one of the alleys. He didn't have enough guts to go all the way around. What did she think, seeing him alone in that old house?
One figure did have the guts. He stood in the shadow. Perhaps her lyrics offended him, or caused his sweet little daughter to do something stupid. Maybe his daughter contacted Aliyah, inspired by her work, and Aliyah gave her advice. Maybe this advice let the daughter to a dreadful end. In any case, he was angry. Homicidal angry. With a knife tight in his hand, he waited. Then she finally came out. He followed her, quietly, and then growled, "Aliyah (lastname), you bitch!" He rushed forward with his knife, clumsily of course, and decided to have fun. He smashed the butt end of the knife hard into her shoulder, if he could.

It should be known that Aliyah is not a fighter. She has no sort of skills in any kind of fighting or on how to defend herself, which was perhaps a foolish thing. The only prominent skills the woman possessed were her singing abilities and her swimming abilities, neither of which would save her from an attack, unless there was water nearby. Hearing someone call her name, then insult her, Aliyah turned to see the man. However, she was not prepared to be attacked with a knife.
It was the surprise that caused her to fall back, not the pain. The pain coursed through her a second later, though for the moment, her fear was more. Frightened, the singer tried backing away from the man wielding the knife. No, she wasn't feeling brave. She could only imagine what he intended to do with the knife. "P-please," Aliyah begged, feebly. "Please don't do this.."
(I'm sorry..)
