Dusty's form melted into that of a snow leopard. He padded after Kiya and then quickened his pace to a light run, that way he wouldn't tire himself off too quickly but it was quicker than just a slow walk. If Dina doesn't mind, Cloudy is going to skip some time. Perhaps, the couple reached the abandoned village, well into the afternoon. Upon reaching it, Dusty grew taller and stood as a human, breathing heavily as he stared at the place of their condemnation. "Did we leave anything in the hut before Ponyo decided to ruin our fun?" His words were crude, but only for his anger at Pana. Dusty's lip turned down. They could have left meat, or other supplies. But did they really want to go in?
His eyes flickered over to Kida. "What do you think?"

"I don't know," the huntress answered, stepping into place beside Dusty as a human. Her own breathing was light and quick, but silent. "We could have left some meat here. After all, it's not like Pana gave us enough time to collect everything before we headed back. Kiya glanced over at him, her brows perking. "We could either check or we could just go get some more." She shrugged her shoulders. "But I'm sure an animal has already carried it off by now. We can just set our stuff in here for now, go hunt, then come back and stay for the night. Does that sound okay to you, or do you have another plan?"

Dusty pressed his lips together. "I'm not saying anyone would, but we're fair game to the tribe now. If they wanted to... they could hunt us down. I think, for safety's sake, we should choose a hut that's... different, and further away from the tribe." He opened his mouth to ask her what she wanted and shook his head. "We have to stop tip-toeing around. We need to make decisions, and learn how to make them fast... and smart." He reached up to cup her face and smiled softly at her. "I'm jealous they all got to see your beautiful freckles..." He gave her a chaste kiss on the nose before heading further into the abandoned village.
Cloudy assumes that they probably used a hut near the edge, or something.

Kiya had to take a moment to extinguish the blush that scorched her cheeks; Dusty was always so gentle and charming.. She followed him, mentally disagreeing with his comment about her freckles. More like a blight.. "This village is abandoned for a reason, Dusty. No one comes here, not usually, at least." Her gaze swept over the huts that adorned the desolate village. "And we will make decisions, Dusty. I just want to get settled in for the night and get some food before nightfall. Then we can decide what to do from there, okay?" All Kiya really wanted was to hide under a blanket while a fire's gentle heat warmed her. And food. What teenager didn't want food? Maybe, if Cloudy wants, maybe she honed in on another hut that was near the edge of the village, one they hadn't stayed in before. The huntress reached out for Dusty's hand, trying to pull him towards it. "Here, we haven't stayed in this one. Let's stay here for a bit. Sound good?"

A more at ease and happier smile widened Dusty's lips. "Alright..." He allowed her to lead him, feeling the tight knot of anxiety lessen a bit in his chest. He watched her with a curious gaze before turning it back towards the hut she was leading them to. "Do you want me to help with hunting, or would you rather I gather wood, and other things that might be useful?" He pressed his lips together and wondered if he should scour the village for things. Probably not.
If they reached the hut, Dusty probably moved to walk inside first, to make sure things were safe. Not because he was a man, but because he was a gentleman. He would do it for Kiviuq, Eska, or even Sakari.
After making sure the wood wouldn't give out from underneath them, he set down his traveling bag.

Since the hut seemed safe and Dusty had done so, Kiya also set her bag down. With a light smirk, she spoke again, "No, I don't trust your hunting skills enough yet. You just gather supplies and I'll go hunting." Her smile fell. "Or, I guess you could come and we could split up. We might catch more that way," her voice broke off as Kiya was lost in her own thoughts for a moment. She wouldn't admit it, having been out in the woods by herself on numerous occasions, but this was different now, it was.. well, scarier. With monsters and the rest of the tribe now their enemies. "Yeah, I think we should do that," Kiya spoke again, glancing up at him. "Let's both go out and then split up. Not far, but just enough for us to have a greater chance of catching more. Does that sound alright with you?"
(So, when they go out, this is when they run into Pana, right? Or is that for a later occasion?)

[SKIP]
A few days afterward...
The monster was gone! Dead! Gone! For good. All gone. He was gone... The village was safe now. Why didn't they understand? Their blank masks annoyed him, but it didn't matter. He finally avenged his two sons and his wife! They were avenged, and now the village was safe. They didn't understand now, but they will! When they will come to understand this glorious day and thank him!
"...for future knowledge, it is important to decide this now," within the elder's hut, the cackling elder spoke with strict seriousness.
Kiviuq sat with complete and utter boredom. He stared at Apanu, who in turn glared fiercely at him. In truth, Kiviuq found complete and utter glee, not that he would ever say so, that Apanu became increasingly annoyed at Kiviuq staring at him. A childish game, perhaps. But it was something to keep him occupied as the old people droned on and on and on...
"Wait, do you hear that?" Apanu cut in.
"This is the elder's hut, Apanu," Kiviuq muttered.
"Hear what?" Another elder inquired, and as soon as they were all silent, they heard it: laughter. And shouting. From one source.
"Oh thank Cadoc, I felt like a child getting lectured by his grandmother," Kiviuq stood. "A distraction!" He ignored any glares that might have been cast his way. The old cackling woman only cackled at his words. Kiviuq rushed outside, just as one of the guards was about to step in.
"Excuse me," the guard said, confusion rolling in him. "Great Elder, I think... it's Keelut. He's holding something in his hands... I think he's finally..."
Kiviuq rolled his eyes and continued outside, and there he saw the crazy man dancing in glee. For a moment, he saw the child that Keelut had once been. He shook his head and stared at Keelut in confusion. Behind him, he heard the guard say to the elders,
"He keeps saying something about... a monster."

While the news of Keelut prancing around with later dropped an eerie feel on some of the elders present, including the head elder, a mask depicting an owl concealed an onslaught of horror that had suddenly washed through Sakari. Keelut holding something.. Saying something about a monster. Oh Cadoc, no.. As quickly as the shaman had been able to stand, there were already some elders filing out, unable to restrain their own curiosity. Even the head elder couldn't resist. The head elder stood and made his way over, brushing passed the guard. When he saw Keelut, the older man wasn't sure how to react. Keelut has always been... off.
Sakari was soon to follow, stopping dead once he left the warmth of the hut. "Keelut," he heard the head elder growl. "What is the meaning of this? What's going on?" But all the shaman could focus on was what Keelut was holding in his hands, trying to tell himself it wasn't what he thought it was.
She had been stalking the creature for some time now. Food was more difficult to come by now without the support of the tribe, but that wasn't going to stop someone who had been helping bring back food for the tribe. As keen as a hawk, her pale green eyes honed in on the lone buck that padded through the snow covered forest, pausing momentarily so his large ears could scan the woods. It seemed even the wildlife was on edge. But monsters or not, a deer would keep them fed for at least a week and the fur would help too.
As the deer trekked further through the snow, Kiya followed quietly, her bow drawn and an arrow ready to strike. The beast paused, lowering his head to sniff at the snow. It gave a snort, puffing from his black nose only because it was so cold. But when wasn't it cold? Already her cheeks and nose were red, exposed. One of the disadvantages of not possessing a mask.
It was now or never. Crouched, the huntress drew back the bow string, the head of the arrow resting on the grip, ready to fire. A clean kill, straight through the eye-
And suddenly, the deer had jolted up right and galloped away just as quickly through the growth of the forest. Kiya let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding, feeling anger towards whatever had spooked her prey. Unknown to her, the hunter had become the prey. Distracted, Kiya glanced up through the canopy. Did she have enough time to go after the deer before it got too dark? Or should she follow. We need food, that was a fact. But I can't stay out here too long..
Lost in her thoughts, the huntress wasn't aware of how dark and eerie the woods suddenly began to feel, how a dark twisted creature stalked ever closer.
(Optional part)
Jaws parted, claws poised, the monster pounced with a horrid shriek. Kiya barely had enough time to glance behind her as a shadow as cold as death descended upon her.

Keelut bowed down to the elder and cast a glance up at him. "I've done it! I've finally got rid of the vile creation that has tormented this town for years. I should have done it sooner, seeing how much destruction its caused, I should have got rid of it! Maybe my family would still be alive if-" Keelut shook his head and then walked over to the elder, holding the two parts up to him.
The two objects fit together as a mask.
"That's Pana's mask," Kiviuq gasped. Of course, he wasn't too happy about it either. He fully deserved any "no shit" that anyone threw at him.
"The monster... is gone. Never to return. The village is safe now." He bowed down, gleefully. "No more! It will terrorize us no more! Dead and gone, gone and dead..."
After his banishment, he laid in the snow, believing he wouldn't ever be able to move again. But fear had him moving. He picked up his spear, wandering off deeper into the snowy terrain. Every noise sounded like his father, and he was afraid he would come back. His face was bruised, and he held a black eye. His nose had stopped bleeding a while ago, and even if he rubbed away some of the blood, some of it had crusted at the base of his nose.
Where to go? Pana couldn't risk going back to the village. Not as he was. A monster. Silently and brainlessly, he wandered through the forest until he came across a sight almost as worse as his father: Kiya. He froze in his tracks and hoped she didn't see him, but worried he had given himself away.
A deer that seemed to be what she was tracking scattered. Pana held his breath, halfway wishing his father finished him off. A monster... he had done this to Kiya. He was what-
A monster! Warrior instincts had him shooting forward, "Kiya!" He hissed, slamming his body into hers and bracing himself against the beast.
[Optional]
The beast's weight pushed Pana to the ground, and it let out a savage, unnatural sound. Fear pressed through Pana, but his instincts refused to allow him to think or second-guess himself. Under the weight of the beast, his spear broke in half.
The creature fell against the weight, giving Pana a chance to slip out from underneath it. But the beast was quick. It caught Pana's side with its poisonous claws, throwing him to the ground. Pana rolled and shifted to his feet, barely having enough time to lift his spear as the beast threw itself towards him once again.
Pana sliced his spear upwards, catching the beast's rotting(?) neck and slicing it open. The thing let out a terrible screech and threw another paw at Pana, one that he barely managed to roll away from.
(Yes. Terrible writing, I know... I am so sorry... I don't know how to write anymore..)

The head elder was lost for words, unsure of what to say. What could he say? What could they do? Keelut was far from sane. Should they send out a patrol to look for Pana? Or was it too late? He wasn't sure what to do.. But behind him, a savage anger was boiling over inside of Sakari. The desperate need to go find Pana was present, but a mere shadow in the wake of a torrent of anger. Sakari had never wanted anyone dead before, but suddenly.. suddenly every fiber in his being needed Keelut dead.
Without so much a thought for the consequences, only thoughts of avenging his little brother and spilling blood, Sakari pounced at Keelut with a roar. It was probably surprising to see Sakari move so quickly, but he had wanted to be a warrior first and foremost. If Sakari had been able to tackle Keelut to the ground (sorry for the powerplay), then what a sight it must have been to watch the shaman of all people start trying to wail on Keelut, trying to land heavy punches fueled by anger. "Fuck you, Keelut!" He roared, trying to bring his fist down on the old man. "Fuck you! You and your bastard sons never deserved Pana!"
It was all a blurr. After being shoved into the snow, after being rattled with fear upon hearing his voice again, Kiya had difficulty finding her bearings, despite the threat that lay (lie?) in wait behind her. She didn't want to turn around, didn't want to see him, not wanting him to be the last thing she ever saw. But, forcing herself to, the huntress glanced over her shoulder, her blood running cold at the sight of both Pana and the monster. Why was he here? Had he come all this way to finally finish the job Kiya had feared for three years? If Pana couldn't kill her, then surely the monster would.
But what a sad way to die, alone in the woods, being fed off by a monster. That thought alone scared her more than Pana and the monster combined. It gave her enough courage to spring into action, grabbing her bow that had been discarded feet away. Not yet, was all Kiya could think. Not yet. Not yet. As she had done moments ago, the huntress pulled back the bow string with not one arrow poised, but two, aiming for the monster. Kiya let go. The two arrows zipped forward, hurtling towards the black monster.
(Noooooo... It was gorgeous! My post is awful.. imsorry)
