"If your best interest was in the people," Apanu snarled fiercely, "then you wouldn't have been beating Keelut! This punishment by no means will hinder your ability to 'help' the people. I think your judgement of that has clearly been incapacitated, so as of now, your right to vote has been temporarily taken away, if there are no objections, of course."
"Apanu-" Keelut began.
"You of all people should be outraged, Kiviuq," Apanu snapped.
Shaking his head, Kiviuq stood and walked over to Sakari. "Everything is only temporary," he murmured. "The more you fight, the worse it is. Sakari, I know your reasoning, but just back down. I'll help you back to your hut."

"I don't need your help," Sakari barked, stepping away from Kiviuq, his face twisted and reddened by anger. And fueled by it, the shaman stormed out from the elders' hut, if he was able to get away. Though, he more or less limped. Despite his determination to head back home, Sakari was stopped as soon as he was outside. He took in a shattered breath as white hot pain pierced his leg. Clenching his teeth, Sakari suddenly wondered if his hut had always been so far away. One slow agonizing hobble forward told him he should have accepted Kiviuq's helps. Gods, it hurts... Through it all, Sakari couldn't help but wonder who they would order to guard him. He wondered if people in the tribe would be too afraid to approach him now. He sighed, his breath turning to steam as it met the icy cold air. Apanu was right..

Melina had just returned from calling off the search party, only to hear someone rush out of the hut. She turned her head to see Sakari, just in time to see the terrible limp. "Wow, hey," she stepped over to him, making sure that he was on her sight-seeing side, and she held up her hands. "I can be your personal crutch back to your hut, if you want. As long as you don't elbow me in the face again. I already have one blind eye, I don't need two." She smiled lightly at Sakari, even if he couldn't see it.
She heard someone else leave the hut, and she heard a sigh that was very recognizable by now. "Hey Grumpy Badger."
"Melina..." Kiviuq sighed. "Help Sakari to his hut, would you? Eska started a cat fight with Apanu and I..." Kiviuq paused. "Melina. You're on guard duty-"
Melina let out a whine, "But I promised I would have dinner with my father tonight. Kiviuq, please, can't you ask someone else?"
"Look, Melina. Sakari has been ordered to be guarded every hour. I'm giving you that job. I'm sure your father will understand." Kiviuq stepped back towards the hut, disappearing into it.

Sakari found hard to suppress a growl, or the urge to snap at the two of them. He didn't need some guard getting in his way. He didn't need to be watched twenty-four seven like some child. But he did need help getting home. "Just take me home," the shaman mumbled, refusing to look up at either of them. "Then you can have dinner with your father later.. I don't really plan on going anywhere later. Not that I can. Not only am I confined, but I won't be able to walk for a while." He glared at the ground. "I'll spare you the boring duty of watching me endlessly sort herbs and wwhat not." And pack Pana's belongings, but Sakari couldn't say that and he didn't trust either with that information. They might squeal to Apanu..

Melina let out a long sigh. Great. Her eyes narrowed at Sakari, but decided it was best not to answer him now. She figured watching him by the hour meant that.. she had to watch him every hour. A part of her wished that Kiviuq hadn't disappeared back into the hut, so that he could explain it to her better, but she knew better than to question the elders. Especially Kiviuq. "Come on." She murmured, stepping to Sakari's side and wrapping his arm around her. "You might have to use me more of like a crutch. That's no problem. It's hard to squish me." A smile quirked the corner of her mouth. "I don't think this watch is going to be permanent. You'll get stuck with some other guy, most likely."
Perhaps, if Dina wants, they started heading back to the hut, with Melina being especially careful. "But hey, look at the bright side. You have a grunt now. A grunt that you can order around and help you with work." She let out a soft giggle.

Sakari was quite wary at first about using her like a crutch, but seeing that he had no choice, he wrapped his arm around her and counted the seconds it would take to get home. When she spoke, Sakari glanced up for a moment. "There's nothing I need you to," he grunted. "I already have someone to help me," Sakari said, only if Cloudy, at this point, had Amorak already helping Sakari at this point. "And warriors helping with shaman work is always a bother. Don't worry."

"Are you always this cheerful?" Melina inquired, and then she gasped, "You're a grump like Kiviuq, aren't you? You're a grumpy owl!" She found herself giggling. Her giggles calmed and she spoke soberly, "Okay, I'll stop trying to cheer you up... I just..." Melina shook her head, deciding it was best to remain quiet. If Dina would like, they could have made it to Sakari's hut. Melina perhaps helped him into his hut.

If they had entered the hut, Sakari tried to pull away from Melina. If he had been able to pull away, the shaman plopped down onto the floor, a shaky breath leaving him as he stretched out his injured leg. "I know you're trying to make light of the situation, but just stop," the shaman hissed, out of both anger and pain. Sakari carefully folded his leg, his arms lightly running over his leg in an attempt to feel for any kind of damage in the bones or muscle. Gods, he wanted to sleep for a very long time, not be bothered with all of this nonsense. "Since I'm not able to go anywhere, then I need someone to fetch Eska for me and bring him here.."

Melina opened her mouth and was about to point out that she shouldn't shirk from her duties, but instead let out a long sigh. "The chief is probably still-" she cut herself off from saying something crude and instead shrugged. "Alright, but if you leave this hut, I'll report it, and then you'll have a multitude of guards staying with you. Plenty of other men for you to-" She cut herself off, once again, and slipped out of the hut without another word.
Instead of going to find Eska right away, she jogged lightly back to her father's hut, where she informed him that their lovely dinner would be canceled. He insisted on bringing food over for her at Sakari's hut and to pay the shaman a visit. Melina advised highly against it and made a joke about the shaman not getting any, which was why he acted like he had a stick up his ass.
Either way, Melina then went to find Eska.
Eska had finished his skirmish with his disowned father and stomped angrily back towards his hut. Fury burned in his bones. He couldn't believe how angry he was. How could that man treat anyone like that? He hated Apanu. Hated him.
The worst part was that Eska used to be a lot like him.
"Chief, sir," Melina's preppy voice caught Eska and he glanced over at the guard. "The shaman would like your company."
A sigh left Eska. "Of course, thank you." He walked back towards Sakari's hut and then entered. When he saw Melina was still with him, he motioned for her to stay outside. After closing the door, he growled, "Sakari, that man is an asshole."

The shaman managed a smile when Eska came in and it grew at the comment about Apanu. "I could have told you that, Eska." He sighed, lifting a hand to push up his mask, Sakari's face softening with sympathy. "He's not turning out to be the man you thought he was when you were younger, is he?"
Sakari shook his head slowly before his gaze fell. "Not that that I didn't deserve it. He's right, Eska... I'm sure a lot of people would still prefer my father over me. Especially after today. Now I'm nothing but caged criminal who has to be watched every single moment." He clenched his teeth. " Not that Keelut didn't deserve it."
There was a pause. "I can't really move around right now. Can you help me pack up Pana's belongings?"
