"That didn't sound very-"
"Dad," Melina said in a quiet voice. "I'm really okay. He's not biggy, okay? I promise... I'll be okay." She now spoke quieter to not disturb Sakari. "You should go... but... how is she?"
Desna paused and glanced at Melina, his eyes searching hers for a moment. "Your mom is feeling a lot better. In fact, she told me that she wanted to go out and track down a large stag." Smiling lightly, Desna pushed his mask against Melina's. "My baby girl, you're free to come to us any time. I promise..." He stood and walked towards the door. "I brought some food... for the both of you. Good night, Melina, my sweet, perfect, smart-"
"Goodnight, Dad," Melina mused quietly.
Taking that as a dismissal, Desna left the hut.
Melina sat where she was, staring down at her hands. She had two choices. Admit defeat and wallow in her self pity, or brush it off. With a sigh, Melina slowly moved to sit up and looked over at Sakari. "Alrighty!" She said, trying to sound chipper as usual, "you grump. What corner are you condemning me to?"
Eska quickly hurried away and grabbed Pana's things. With that done, he quickly left the village to go towards the abandoned one. Walking around in the cold wasn't his favorite things to do, but he wouldn't complain. Plus, there was no one there to complain to.
Amorak searched his brother's gaze for a moment before nodding his head. "Alright..." He said quietly, his voice crackling lightly. Hidden beneath his mask, Amorak smiled lightly at his brother's protective words. He almost teased Saghani and asked him if he wanted to lead him to Sakari's hut, holding his head, but he didn't have the heart to do it right now.
He walked over to Saghani and paused in front of him. "I..." He looked up at Saghani once again. "I'll be back..." He only hesitated for a moment before giving his brother a hug.

"Over there," he growled, motioning to the place where he first had Dusty stay, and then Pana." Sakari ignored her light tease, not wanting to deal with her calling her father back, or more complaints about him to the elders. Though there was nothing left for them to do regardless. Confine him, sure. But they could never strip him of his title no matter how much they despised him. No one else could heal or see worthless visions. He had no relatives that could do so and no children that could replace them. And that made him smirk darkly, the only way he could still spite the elders. "Like I said before, don't touch anything."
(Skip for Eska?)
Saghani couldn't help himself as he wrapped his arms around his brother, trying to pull him close. "Just make sure you don't get lost, alright? Or I will hold your hand and lead you everywhere," he mused softly, lulling his head against Amorak's. Despite the tease, there was always that trace of fear that could be picked up in the young man's words. Saghani really was terrified of losing his brother again.

"Oops!" Melina gasped, sounding as if she just did something terrible. "I just touched the floor. Is that okay? Oh my goodness, I keep touching everything and doing absolutely no harm to it." She smirked over at Sakari defiantly. "Look, sir grumpy. If this has any chance of not being completely miserable, you gotta understand. I'm not going to get in your way. I am not going to mess anything up. Just think of me as a movable statue." She walked over to the corner and shed off her boots and a pair of gloves. She had three on, in case anyone was wondering. Then, she walked over to the basket her father left and took out some food for herself, and some for Sakari, before retreating to her area and sitting down on the bed, mindlessly eating. If she was going to have to stay quiet, this job might be the worst.
It was already nearing the worst. Melina rubbed her eye under the mask, remembering when her father took her to go see Sakari's father. All she really remembered was the wonderful smell of herbs. It still smelled good.
(No. I will write it all out.)
After walking through the snow for sometime, Eska made it to the abandoned village. He glanced around until he saw a hut lit by light and he made his way over to it, knocking on the door.
(Jk that was a skip)
Amorak blushed and felt a smile curve his lips. "Don't tempt me to get lost," laughter threaded his words and he slowly pulled away from Saghani. "I am not sure how long Sakari is going to have me, so you can make dinner for yourself." He spoke very quietly and stepped out the door, glancing at his brother. "I… I love you, Saghani. I will be back…" He then stepped away from the hut and over to Sakari's. If Dina doesn't mind, then little Amorak knocked on the door, ready to get an onslaught of Sakari's grumpiness, which he might have not received directly, but probably had witnessed.

Thank Cadoc someone knocked on the door, it spared him from replying to Melina. "If that's Amorak, you can come in," he called over his shoulder. "If that's anyone else, I'm going to start taking appointments, so come back when this is someone else's problem." Oh Sakari. But by then, Sakari had his herbs organized and a list compiled of the herbs he needed the most. If he could escape during the middle of the night to get away, he would. But his leg wouldn't allow him to get very far.
Kiya was more than likely the closest to the door when Eska knocked, perhaps there intentionally in case Pana returned to his normal abusive self. The huntress stood and stretched before making her way to the door, pulling it open. "I figured it was you," she said quietly. "But I guess it's still weird being all the way out here and having someone knock on the door.." She didn't really give Eska the chance to respond. "So I guess you have all of Pana's stuff then, huh? Oh, sorry. Want to come in?"

Amorak found himself smiling as he stepped into the hut, peering over at Melina curiously before glancing back at Sakari. "You should start charging too..." His white skin pinked at his audacity to speak. "Make them pay for your labor." His smile dropped and he looked down at his feet, wringing his hands as he stayed near the entrance. "Why.. why did you need me?" His eyes narrowed in on Sakari's leg before once again flickering over to Melina who stared directly at him.
His skin went deep red.
Eska barely had time to say anything at Kiya's quick speech. He smiled and waited until her last word came out and he was just about to shake his head when he heard a sudden shift of movement, and Dusty's hiss of, "Don't move you stupid buffalo!"
"I suppose I will... I won't be staying long." Eska stepped into the hut, if allowed, and saw Dusty barely managing to hold a feverish Pana up. His brows fell together. Reaching up, Eska pulled off his mask. It felt weird to be surrounded by those without their masks and to still have his on. "Pana? You should be-"
"Sakari," Pana gasped, searching Eska's face. "What did they do to him? Is he alright? His leg-" Worry stormed in Pana's chest. He needed to know if Sakari was alright. That's all his feverish mind really allowed him to process at the moment.
A smile curved Eska's lips. "Sakari is being babysat by a guard. His leg is acting up, but he is fine. Get some rest, Pana."
Pana's brows fell together in defeat and he nodded. With Dusty's help, he moved behind his own cell and slipped back into bed.
Eska set the bag down and looked over at Kiya. A sigh left him and he shook his head. "You know how you don't really know a person until you see the monster within them?" His eyes filled with sadness as he though of his father--not really a monster by Keelut standards, but a different man than who he thought. Eska glanced in Pana's direction. "Maybe there's something opposite for that."

Sakari let out a sigh. "I'm sure Eska told you, but Pana's gone." It wasn't difficult to hear the sadness in his voice. "So, I will probably need your help a lot more now, if you're willing to, of course." He turned his gaze back towards the store of herbs. "It might be too late now, but tomorrow, I need you to go out and help me restock my supplies. I can't really go with you, especially with with my leg acting up. When you can, will you and your brother head out and gather the herbs I need?" Sakari mentioned Saghani because Amorak would need a warrior with him and what better person for the job than his older brother?
Since Eska was in the hut now, Kiya slowly made her way over to the small group, folding her arms across her chest. "Maybe, but I wouldn't count on it," she growled lightly. Pana was obviously not Kiya's favorite subject. Living under the same roof as him was not a good feeling. What was the point in living in exile to get away from Pana only to wind up back with him? "You should just take him back to the village with you. He'll be welcomed back, I'm sure.."

Amorak nodded and walked over to Sakari, bravely settling himself down beside Sakari. He looked at the herbs and searched through them with his gaze before returning them to Sakari. Perhaps he's helped Sakari enough to learn some of the basics. "I... I will help. Of course... I can become an assistant." He folded his hands in his lap and looked down at the floor.
Sakari had helped him so much. Wasn't there a way Amorak could help him, too? "What herbs..." His voice fell away and he had to clear his throat to gain it back. "What herbs do you need?" He looked up at Sakari to search his eyes.
Taking in a breath, Amorak clenched his fingers and swallowed. "Sakari... d-do... do you need s-some t-t-to talk to?"
Gods, that was too much for him to say. His heart drummed in his throat and he was a little hard to control his breath.
Eska furrowed his brows and shook his breath. He leaned closer to Kida, motioning Dusty over. After his brother was closer, Eska lowered his voice to a whisper. "I don't know what the elders are going to do to Pana's father... by law, they should force him out of the village. But... he's unstable. So I'm not sure what they're going to..."
He searched Dusty's eyes, searching for understanding.
"So, basically," Dusty whispered, "Ponyo's daddy is going to bitch slap him again if he goes back, but Ponyo's daddy might as well bitch slap him out here. Why not let him stay with Sakari? I mean, at least then someone will like him-"
Eska sighed, cutting Dusty off. "Sakari is trusting you guys to look after him. Look, he's not going to hurt either of you how he is." He frowned and looked over at Kiya. "I know it's hard for you, but if you guys want to survive out there, you need to work together. Having two warriors and a hunter is a lot better than having one warrior and a hunter. Plus, Pana knows herbs. He's a walking junior shaman."
Dusty snorted, but then shrunk away when Eska gave him a menacing glare.

Despite himself and his foul mood, Sakari couldn't help but smile softly at Amorak's offer. "Take a deep breath, Amorak. Calm down before you give yourself a heart attack," he mused. "Thank you for the offer, but I really am fine right now. Let's just worry about this." It was then that the shaman listed all of the herbs that he needed. "Like I said before, it might be too late now, so you should head out tomorrow. Take your brother with you, maybe another guard too. I'd rather you coming back safe with no herbs than not at all. Thank you, Amorak. You can head back home now if you want to."
The urge to get up and leave was a mighty one. To a lesser extend, so was wanting to tell Eska to leave. The chief was no better than the rest of the villagers. "'Hard' is an understatement," she hissed. "It's like you welcoming Tikani's dad to live with you with open arms." But then Kiya relented, her head lulling to the side as she gazed elsewhere. There was a pause before she spoke again. Eska had done his best to help them before. "I'm sorry, forget I said that.. Just.. If you think we should live with him, then fine. I'll do this for you, Eska. Not for Sakari, and certainly not for him."

Amorak felt embarrassment swarm through him. He ducked down his head and played with a loose thread on his jacket. Mentally, he restated the herbs to memorize them. He swallowed thickly and looked back up at Sakari. "I-I will head back before Saghani thinks I got lost… He threatened to lead me by the hand everywhere." With a small smile, Amorak stood and he paused to look down at Sakari. "If… If you want company… or anything at all, just send for me." Nearly bursting out of his skin with embarrassment, Amorak scampered out of the hut.
A squeal sounded from the corner of the hut. "He is so cute! That was so cute! And he'll be back again, ugh…" Melina pushed her face into her new bed. "No wonder Saghani is so protective of him. Someone might steal that cutie away… like me." Of course, she muttered all the last part to herself.
Eska looked as if Kiya had slapped him. He let out a small growl of a warning. Except, he knew better than to yell at her. A sigh left Eska and he shook his head, glancing over at Kiya. He looked at her and then said quietly, "Well. Look at it this way. You're the best hunter of the tribe. You could easily shoot Pana if he tried anything. On top of that, you have my goofy brother who will make sure that Pana never does anything to you. If I didn't know these things, I would have advised Sakari otherwise." He gave Dusty a hug and let out a sad breath. "Keep my goofy little brother safe, okay, Kiya?"
"Stop calling me goofy. You're the goofy one." Dusty murmured.

Sakari rolled his eyes. "You know he's at least twenty, right? It's not like he's a child." He snorted, rearranging his herbs because he couldn't think of anything else to do. "Oh boy, I can't wait to see how much you fan girl when there's an actual child here," he grunted. "Yeah, I'll just have Eska bring Anyu over here sometime for a check up. That way you'll be able to see what a baby looks like too." Instead of mindlessly rearranging herbs again, the shaman took out some that he would actually need, deciding that he should do something about his leg.
Kiya seemed to unwind a bit when the conversation switched over to Dusty. She finally sat herself down a foot or two from Dusty and Eska. Enough to be near them, but enough to give them the two their space. "Of course I will. Goofy or not." Her voice was softer now. But, as if remembering something, Kiya stood once more and made her way to where she kept her stuff. She returned a moment later, carrying something small she had managed to catch earlier.* "Here," the huntress set the game down near Eska. "I caught this earlier.. Can you make sure Kiviuq gets it?"
*(Dina knows Kiya probably had no time to go out and catch something, but Dina thought it was a cute sentiment anyway)
