And this was the reason why Shetani didn't interact with her sister much. Biting her bottom lip, the young leader glanced to the side, unsure of what to do. Then the young leader decided she didn't want to deal with it anymore today. "Alright, Imani. Alright. I'm gonna go rest. I'll leave the beads her." Shetani stood carefully, being careful about putting weight on her injured leg. She ran a hand through her gray hair, letting out a sigh. "Don't let Mom touch them if you leave them there." And with that, the leader dismissed herself and went to where ever she stayed in the house, feeling tired.

(I'msorrytoreplylikethisagain, poor poor Imani... if you wanted, Imani could finish the beads during the night and the sneaked it in her room. If you wanted, Shetani could feel bad and go try and see her, if you think she would do that, and maybe she sees her gone and goes looking for her? And maybe we could use the drabble idea with Imani "talking" to herself?)

[[SKIP]]
That night became one of the most miserable nights for Imani. She messed up. Her tears continued to pour, and sleep continued to escape her. Instead, she stayed up and decided to finish the beads. Just by looking at the beads, some part of her had felt a connection to this strange man. She wondered what each bead meant, and they were worn. With careful inspection, she was able to put the beads almost back in the same way they were before. Almost.
With the beads done, she still couldn't sleep. Guilt gnawed her, and so did her misery. She felt like she had to assure her sister that the "crazy" woman wouldn't hurt her. With a shaky hand, she wrote, "I apologize greatly for last night. I promise to bother you never again, and I finished the beads for you. I'm so sorry. --Imani" She had to rewrite five times. Once she finished, she dropped off the note and beads, just inside Shetani's room so their mother wouldn't see.
With that done, Imani decided to take a walk. She sneaked out her usual way. As soon as she was out and alone, everything eased away. Her guilt eased slightly, but she still felt miserable for ruining her chances. "What's with the pout?" A voice sneered, Imani ignored it. Voices were easy to ignore, and hallucinations were too, if she kept her head down.

It wasn’t long after Imani had left the note and the beads that Shetani woke. The young matriarch sat up, tiredly rubbing her eyes and lazily fixing her hair, though it still didn’t look very neat. She stood carefully, her leg still causing her a mild pain, and as she went to step into another room, that was when she noticed the beads and the note. Seeing Amadi’s necklace fixed made Shetani smile but reading through Imani’s note had the opposite effect on her.
At first, it caused a sort of anger to flare through her. Was it wrong to get frustrated with her crazy sister? It probably was, but she was young and had little patience as it was having the rank she did. Even still, as a leader, she had to make things right. Shetani decided that was what she was going to do. So, she left their home, searching for her sister in the dimly lit caverns that were their home.
“She wasn’t even bothering me,” Shetani muttered to herself, clutching both the note and the beads. “She just started freaking out and I tried to help and she freaked out even more.” After a sigh, she let the anger fade away as it wasn’t needed. All she needed was to reconcile with her sister. And hopefully run into Amadi, if he was still around, to give him the beads. Part of her looked forward to seeing him again, hoping greatly to bump into him once more.

Perhaps at this time of day, the oasis was free of all people. Imani found this area calming, so it was ideal when her emotions were as off the wall as they were. She sat down on a rock and peeled off her shoes. With a smile, she dipped her toes into the water. If she could have favorite hallucinations, one of them would be a small boy. Granted, he was male, but it didn't matter so much because he appeared to be around seven.
The weirdest part about him was that he never wore his mask. Imani didn't know why her mind would do such a thing, and it use to always shock, especially since he was one of the first hallucinations she saw, but now she can grown use to it. His reflection appeared in the water. Credit to her, she didn't jump. "You look sad," the boy said quietly.
Imani turned to look at him. His eyes were large, and black like her own. He had tan, dirty skin and sandy hair. His clothes were raggedy, but he always held a smile. "Do I?" She said quietly. "It's not like I don't have reason. They should just lock me up." She peered back into the water. The boy frowned in sadness. Imani let out a shaky breath. "I messed up, I really did. I hate..." She covered her ears and closed her eyes. "I hate this. I hate being crazy, I'm so alone. I'm not crazy, okay!?"
She whipped up to look at the boy, but he was gone. A small whimper left Imani. She reached under her mask to wipe away the tears that clung to her eyelashes. Reaching over, she grabbed a rock and skipped it across the surface of the water. "Who wants to be friends with a crazy anyways?" She muttered to herself.

Perhaps it had taken Shetani some time to track down her sister whilst sneaking passed guards and other members of the tribe. There may have been no need to sneak around, but she didn't want the guards or others to get the impression that she was up to no good. Anything would be better than to have her mother on her case again. Besides, what if there were more monsters lurking about? She didn't want her sister roaming around. How should she even handle the situation? Should she be the matriarch? Or should she be the sister?
After some time, perhaps the young matriarch made it to the oasis, having perhaps tracked her sister there. And, if Cloudy wants, perhaps Shetani spotted her sister close to the water's edge. "Imani!" She called, climbing over the rocky surface to get to her sister. "Imani, you shouldn't be sneaking around like this!" The intensity of her anger surprised herself, so she took in a breath to calm herself before speaking softly. "It's not safe to be by yourself."

It's not the smartest thing to yell at a rape victim. Imani recoiled and pulled in his legs. "I-I'm sorry..." she muttered miserably. "I'm sorry, please... please don't..." All her words were quiet and probably were unheard. Hesitantly, she peeked up with Shetani. Tears were in her eyes and her body was shaking. Imani took in a few gasping breaths and then looked up at her sister. What is she doing here? Imani stood, allowing anger to strike through.
"I think I know, out of anyone, how dangerous it is to be on your own," her voice came sharp, like it once had been before it happened. Imani instantly recoiled, "I'm sorry," she let out a sob. "I didn't mean that, please, forgive me..." Imani crouched down, sort of in a bow to Shetani. Exhaustion suddenly pooled over her. "I'm sorry... you don't have to worry about me. Shetani," Imani spoke shakily. "I walk on my own every single day. If there was any danger, I know good places to hide."

A sudden wave of frustration and anger boiled over in Shetani. This was impossible! Much like a stubborn teenager, she wanted to throw something and stomp away from Imani, leaving her sister alone. Oh, it was such a strong desire to walk away that her legs shifted in anticipation to leave.
But, the young leader took in a deep quiet breath in order to compose herself. She clutched tightly onto the beaded necklace she was still holding, the one that belonged to Amadi. “Imani, I don’t want you out here. I don’t care if you’re used to it. If one of those monsters appears again and you hide and it corners you, you’ll be killed. That’s it. Hiding won’t help.” She stepped closer to her sister and knelt down, now speaking in as soft of a voice as she could muster. “Please, it’s alright. Just come back with me and maybe we can go on a walk later, together. Okay?”

"So you want to lock me up too?" Imani's voice came out thick. Tears filled her. She knew Shetani's reasoning, but it all meant the same: keeping her locked up. "So I can be some responsibility that you have to walk every once in a while?" Imani folded up at wrapped her arms around herself. The sobs that were working their way up her throat. Turning from Shetani, she stood. "Fine."
Imani in all honesty felt too tired to argue anymore. She felt as if her very soul was weary with life. And she was tired of apologizing. "I don't want to return yet, though. Do you mind if we walk, then, for a little more?" Imani spoke tiredly and weakly, knowing that Shetani could easily deny her. "It's fine if you just want to go back." Imani turned to watch the water, breathing shakily.

"Imani, if you want to run into a monster and get yourself eaten alive, then great," the younger sister muttered, now really wanting to walk away. The way Imani jumped from one mood to another really aggravated her. Maybe Shetani should leave. Maybe she should leave. "This is a new problem and I want to make sure everyone's safe." Purple eyes darted back up to the older sister, the burning anger dying down.
Shetani let out a sigh and stepped away, lifting a hand to rub the back of her head. "Come on," she said to her older sister. "Let's just take a walk so we can head back.. And.. Thank you for fixing the beads." A smile lifted her lips again as she again caught sight of the beads she held. "I hope I can get these back to him sometime.." Shetani acted like a little girl, giddy and excited at the idea of seeing the strange man who saved her again. She has a crush but in reality, she just wanted the D.
