"Yes, it isn't too hard and its a skill every Verengeith must learn- eventually. I promise it won't be anything too difficult." Rucian said nonchalantly and blinked at Calix stoically for a moment, "You may address me by my name, Rucian."
Seraphina returned with a tray of drinks and snacks, there was a range of teas and hot water to make them in and some tiny treats to snack on. She set the tray in the middle of the table and sat beside Rucian, flicking her blond hair out of her face and raising her eyes to Calix as she picked up a cup.
"Thank you, my love." Rucian breathed and for a moment, he relished in the fact Seraphina was beside him. Her presence, as close as he could get it, was always welcome. "I've offered to train him how to summon later on. Can I request your help with that?"
"Of course." Seraphina nodded and sipped her tea. "Summoning can be tricky, but it gets easier."
"Hmmm, Indeed." Rucian agreed and poured himself some tea, picking off a few sweets to snack on as well. "Now, Calix, if I may. How old are you? And where are you staying currently? If I am to train you, I request you be close by. If you are closer, it would be easier-"
"If I may," Seraphina interrupted, "He can just stay here. It would be the easiest then. It wouldn't be taxing on either of us since there is so much room here." she shrugged and sipped her tea once more. She glanced away from Calix and into her cup, seeming to watch the steam roll off of the liquid with enjoyment.
"Hmmm...Quite. I support the idea. Would that be alright with you, Calix?" Rucian asked and his eyes became guarded again, intensely locking onto Calix's face as he watched him answer the montage they just threw at him.

"Oh, no," Calix muttered, "I really couldn't," but he muttered this very quietly, just as his king had said his thanks to Seraphina. Call him by his first name? Not yet. He waited for the two to finish talking, and he really shouldn't have because Rucian's full blown gaze on him made him want to squirm. His own guard dropped and a blush returned to his cheeks, warming him up.
Reaching forward, he poured himself a small glass of the hot water, only so he could wrap his fingers around the cup and feel it's warmth. Swallowing, Calix spoke softly, "I am..." He paused for a moment, having to think. "Around two-hundred and forty six...? No. Two-hundred and forty seven.." Calix stared down into his water, his pulse never easing down to a normal pace. He really wouldn't be surprised if he had a heart attack. "A-And... I don't have a home." It's too much, and Marcellus didn't leave me a dime. A sigh left him. He said home like a lame-ass. House. Not home. Now he sounded like a stray puppy.
Now it was time for the hard part. Staying at a king's place? He squeezed his warm cup and swallowed, "S-Staying here would be a great honor, and I will try a-and not bother you." His cheeks were as warm as the cup. It wasn't like he could refuse, could he? "Th-Thank you," Calix squeaked, and then he cleared his throat to add on, "But I left my belongings in a hotel, so, if I could go get them..."
Calix dropped his elbow on the table, letting go of the cup so his head could fall into the palm of his hand. Ah, there it was. He was waiting for the anxiety to reach him. His breath quickened, and he stared down at the water which shook because of his movement. I'm staying at the king's place. He's going to teach me. Oh, gods. Closing his eyes tightly, he made himself straighten. He looked out at the gardens again. Oh, look. Pretty flower. And a butterfly too. What's a king? Nothing, now clam down, Cal, calm down...

"Remembering your age can be difficult but over time I think you'll learn that it just sort of comes...Well, with age." Seraphina spoke, chuckling slightly at her lame ass joke.
Rucian, after having met Seraphina's eyes with an amused gleam in his own gem eyes, turned his gaze back to Calix. "Hmm..You're young still, perfect for learning.." Watching with carefully guarded eyes, Rucain's interest peaked at the mention of no home. "....Hmm...We'll have a servant sent to retrieve your things. Of course, you could always accompany them along if you'd like, as well."
"Would you like me to take him?" Seraphina asked, glancing at Rucian curiously. She raised an eyebrow in question and shifted ever so closer to him.
A light breeze blew through the pavilion, kicking up the stray strands of Rucain's hair and dancing with him as they twirled about in the air, inflicting the appearance of more illumination upon his body. If Calix was paying attention, Seraphina's gaze would turn sour for a moment as she watched the hair be taken away by the breeze, but the look soon melted as Rucian spoke.
"No. I want you here." Rucian said clearly, closing his eyes as he took a sip from his tea."We have things to discuss, you and I." his voice grew a bit darker, the shadows in his eyes growing darker as he opened his eyes and glanced at her firecly.
"But those are matters to attend to later. Now, Calix," Seraphina switched the subject and turned to Calix, the hint of annoyance fleeting from her face. "Would you like to wait here for your things or accompany the servant who will be sent?"

Her joke made him ease up a bit. He couldn't really smile, but he sent her an amused glance. "I use my bondmate's birthday to remember," he said quietly. Calix felt like he was impeding on something when they started discussing darker matters. His heart beat more quickly. Even if curiosity burned brightly in his chest. He wondered why Rucian suddenly look ten times scarier, and even Seraphina had gotten darker. He grabbed a tea bag and put it in his hot water, playing with the water as they spoke. The discoloring of the water distracted him, to the point he didn't realize that he had been asked a question.
Looking up, a deep blush filled his cheeks. "Oh, what? Oh, stuff. Well, I have my violin, and just my bag, I didn't really unpack anything. I would go, but if..." Calix glanced over at Rucian, "my liege, you wanted to start the lessons soon, I am fine with staying." He shrunk down, only because Rucian still frightened him from earlier. If his tail were out, it would probably be stuck between his legs. "B-But if you, my liege, d-don't want to start right away, I am not saying th-that you have to start right away," Calix played with his tea bag.
Maybe it would be good for his heart to go away.

"Interesting...Violin?" Seraphina asked as a guarded look cloaked her eyes. She quickly cast her gaze away from Calix to study the garden nonchalantly. "I hear that's a wonderful instrument..." she muttered.
Upon hearing what instrument Calix played, Rucian's amused look returned and the darkness faded from his features, making him illuminate once more in the sunshine. He gave a knowing glance to Seraphina before he turned to Calix. "It can wait until you're all settled into your room. After that we will discuss training." Rucian decided after some thinking, "I understand you are anxious to learn and while eagerness is a wonderful start, I would like to make sure you are settled in."
While he spoke, he flicked his eyes up from his drink to watch Calix as he was absorbed in watching the darkening liquid in his cup.

Rucian's gaze was probably the worst gaze he's ever been under, probably because of all the power that Calix could feel radiating off of him. "I-I like classical music," Calix said quietly, swallowing thickly. "And violin is one of the instruments that I can carry around without that much difficulty." He looked down at his brown water. "Plus, I love the sounds that the violin makes." Now he really wanted to listen to classical music.
His gut jumped when he realized he had gone a while without even paying attention to Rucian. "I-I can, my liege, i-if you would prefer, just go in my o-own. I-It isn't that much, a-and I travel around a lot with it." He looked down at his clothes. "And I-I will apologize before hand, I have terrible patience... my liege, so I'm sorry..."
Calix tried a sip of the tea. Unsure if he liked it, he looked up at Rucian, "I am also a bit eager, b-because, my liege, I, um, have been on my own for a very long time. And I... hated my previous bondmate. I just... know what it's like to grow up the odd man out, and I don't want him, or her, to... feel alone, or even him getting sick, or not understanding and getting himself killed, or..." Calix pressed his lips tightly together, staring down at his cup again. "I'm sorry for going on, my liege, I hope you can understand my point..."

Twelve. Twelve times he had addressed Rucian as 'My Liege' or 'My King'. He was about to break the record. Perhaps a plaque was in the future to commemorate this wonderful event. Dedicated to their visitor, of course, and hung in the throne room. Maybe he'd even get it ingraved in the wall itself...Hmmm...He'd have to think more on what to do...
Rucian, masterfully hiding his smirk, couldn't help but notice the similarity in hobbies Seraphina and Calix had. Both played the violin, enjoyed classical music, even right down to the love of the sound the instrument made when played. They would make wonderful friends...And it would benefit Seraphina as well, due to her love for being looked up to by the younger portion of the Verengeith race... Hmmm...
On his own? Rucian blinked back to reality and thought about it for a moment. "If you insist. I will have a servant call a driver up to take you."
"Patience is learned over the years, with age, to quote a certain joke." Rucian reminded, referencing to Seraphina's terrible pun from earlier. Hearing the reference to her joke, Seraphina scuffed and shook her head, smirking into her tea.
"Don't worry about it, kid." Seraphina assured, waving her hand in a dismissing way, as if to clear the air of his worries. "There are plenty of Bondmates who have their differences and share a mutual hate."
"Do not borrow trouble that is not needed, young one." Rucian soothed in a calming voice, "But yes, I do understand. Your worries are legitimate and understandable. Bondmates are needed for our survival and with your past you know all too well what its like to grow up disconnected entirely from your own races culture and lifestyle. But all in good time, fledgeling, all in good time. We will get you your Bondmate soon." he assured.

A deep blush filled Calix's cheeks. "Um, actually," he looked down at his lap. "Sorry for being difficult, my liege, but... I actually get car sick easily. But if you insist... the hotel isn't that far from here." He took another sip of his tea, wincing at 'kid'. Young one was find, but kid was close to child, and child reminded him of Marcellus. You stupid child! Calix ran his fingers scross the smooth feel of the scar on his right hand, thinking for a minute. When Marcellus died, it was the worst feeling Calix had felt, ever. It left him immobile. He blinked away the dark thoughts and swallowed. Peering up at Rucian, Calix blushed and said, "My liege, may I leave now? I don't want to offend you, b-but..." I think we've run out of things we can discuss.
He ran his fingers through his hair again, sure that it was curling, or at least becoming wavy because it had been a bit wet. Calix let out a breath, taking another drink of the tea. It was alright, he supposed. Not bad, and wasn't tea suppose to be healthy? In truth, he hadn't eaten all day, or even that much yesterday, because of his nerves. At least he was feeling a bit comfortable. "Thank you, again, my king, for... helping me. If there's anything I could ever do for you, I'm in your debt." In fact, he already started thinking of things he could do for the king to begin to pay his debts. Paintings? Would he like a painting? Or maybe even for him to play the piano, or the violin. "If you want, my liege," Calix's voice got small, his cheeks blooming, "I can paint you something. I'm not the best painter, but I would gladly try my hardest for you. I know it's nothing compared what you're doing for me, but... I don't have much else I can give you..." He swallowed down another "my liege".

And the new record was born. Seventeen. Rucian wondered if he could get three more out of the boy for a nice, even twenty. He figured it was better not to mention it...For now.
"Of course. You many leave. As for a price..." Rucian glanced away for a moment, "Cast away the worries, young one. Your anxiousness to get your things is apparent. Very well, meeting dismissed then." Rucian waved his hand and Seraphina stood, glancing down to Calix.
"I can show you the way out, if you want." she offered helpfully.

Calix nodded, swallowing thickly, "Thank you, my liege..." His voice wavered. He saw Seraphina stand and wondered if it was okay to stand before the king did, so he did so shakily. "If you could, that would be great, I don't think I could remember the way out..." He slid his chair back in place and took another sip of his tea, putting it back. "The tea was good, I would like to try more flavors, b-by the way, my liege," Calix slowly stepped away from the table and crossed his arms over his chest.
Glancing up at Seraphina, he dipped his head to show his thanks. He stepped back towards where he assumed he came in and then paused, glancing back towards Rucian. "This garden is truly wonderful... It would be wonderful to visit it again, it's truly inspiring, my liege." He stepped further away, stuffing his hands in his pockets because he didn't like being even just a bit cold.
[SKIP]
His backpack didn't hold too many clothes. Mainly things to keep him warm. Usually, he wore the same thing again, and again, and then washed it when it got dirty and wore something else. In his pocket, he had some cash, but he was running low again. Thankfully, though, he got a refund for his hotel room which meant he had more money to buy something a bit more creative while he spent his time with the king.
Spent more time with the king. Calix let out a sigh, glancing up at the blue sky. He was thankful it wasn't raining again. His heart hammered heavily in his throat, echoing in every step he took. If I'm like this every day, I'm going to have take some pills or something, really. In all honesty, a part of him wished like it was just something simple like "I summon you bondmate", but it wasn't. Worry squeezed his lungs and made it hard for him to breathe.
So many things could go wrong. Most likely, he was going to lose his patience and walk off, right in the middle of the king trying to teach him something. He would be disrespectful, or perhaps show too much emotion, or even yell at the king. That certainly would be his death sentence. Already, the king's home came into view and worry weighed heavily on his shoulders. His pace slowed a bit. Tightening his hold on his violin case, he stared at the house.
Maybe the king will stop being "the king" to him and become "Rucian". A deep blush filled his cheeks, and he hadn't even made it to the house yet. Dipping his head down, he walked towards the king's home. Was I suppose to call Seraphina something, and I didn't? Can I call her Seraphina? He just kept thinking of ways to freak himself out. Swallowing, he knocked on the door, and perhaps was brought into the main entry way again.
