The norm? Imagine that. Not that it mattered, he was captivated by Kendall's blush. Gods, this pemanu was cute. Percival wanted to make him blush again. He found himself laughing at Kendall's claims. "Oh yes. I've been attacked quite a few times. It was a wonder I survived as a child, babies are considered a delicacy." Grinning, he shook his head. "No, I don't think we're savages. I don't really care about the others, though. I'm an odd ball. Not really superstitious or religious." Percival paused. "Oh, to prove my point, my father is my best and only friend." Now that sounded sad. Percival then gave a small smile. "Not that I really care. I'm fine on my own. But I suppose it can get lonely. How about you guys? Are you guys born in pairs? Do you have friends? A lover?"
Where did that last question come from? Percival thanked Ekek that he didn't blush.

"No, other than twins and stuff. Like me, I'm an only child." Kendall brought his knees back up to his chest so he could rest his chin on them. "Friends? Not really. I kind of like being on my own." He laughed again as he thought about his answer regarding a lover. "Most of the girls my age are more interested in finding a warrior, not a singer." Just wait till he finds out his future lover is in front of him. "What about you? When you say born in pairs, does that usually mean you have more than one sibling?"

"Wow," Percy's eyes lit up. "That's so weird..." He nodded in understanding about the girls. He never found any interest in them, or even guys for that matter. Everyone was boring. Except, well, Kendall. "I like being on my own, too." His headache was still there, but Percival found out that if he didn't move around too much, he would be fine. "Yeah. It's considered bad luck to have odd numbers. If a child's sibling dies, then they are given a tattoo, right here," he pointed to his chest, "to 'balance' it out. It's considered bad luck that I go out on my own, and I guess today it kind of was..." A grin lifted his lips. "Well, I guess I got to meet you, which is cool. I was born a twin. But my sister is nothing like me. We don't get along. I don't get along with my mom, either. So, you guys already learned how to transform? Or, what? How old are you?"

Kendall's own eyes lit up with fascination as Percy explained more about his culture and his own sibling. Maybe it did make him a traitor, but Kendall found that talking with this stranger had been rather fun. "I'm (20?)... We don't have any problem transforming but it takes us longer to learn how to fly, male especially since our wings are longer." He gave a sheepish smile, adverting his gaze. "I'm.. I'm just starting to learn as you saw." Kendall's gaze lifted back up to Percy. "Can you transform? What does your second skin look like?" Kendall had probably never seen what a navajo or naascha looked like transformed. He'd probably only heard stories.

A wide smile spread is lips. "Well, if I hadn't thought I was going to die, I would have paid better attention. I will say, though, that the feeling of flying was very frightening. But at least you could get me out of the gorge." He moved to get more comfortable, to sit closer to Kendall, but the action had him wincing. "Well, if you didn't hit my head.... I can't transform yet. It's hard to learn how to transform, but wait," he crawled closer to Kendall with much care and opened his eyes wide, pointing to his eyes. The splotches of deep brown were giving away to deep purplish blue and bright green. "It's a sign of maturing. We're being taught how to transform now." Leaning back, he winced, but grinned up at Kendall. "I'll show you when I first learn!"
His smile fell and he looked at Kendall, and then he pressed his lips together. "Would you, Kendall, like to see me again?"

Kendall wasn't hesitant in answering at all. He nodded, smiling brightly. "Sure, I think that'd be really fun." His smile weakened a bit. Just for Percy, he blushed again. "by the way, I think your eyes are really pretty..." His blush intensified and he became flustered trying to fix his words. "I-I mean them ch-changing color like that." Kendall shook his head, glancing away. "If you want, since were basically at the bottom of the gorge, I can bring you back to your side of the island if you want..."

Kendall was gifted a blush from Percy that flourished in Percy's cheeks. "O-Oh, thanks.." He smiled sheepishly at Kendall. He. Was. So. Cute. Especially when he stuttered! Nodding, Percival allowed a smile to split his lips. "Yeah, sure. As long as you don't split my head open again, that's fine." Pausing, Percy glanced at Kendall. "When do we meet again? How? Oh, and... can you sing for me next time we meet? If you... if you don't mind, that is. You probably don't want to give your singing away for free--oh! I could bring you lunch and show you navajo delicacy." Chuckling, he shook his head. "It won't be dead people, I promise."

"Or babies?" Kendall smirked, laughing softly. His smile brightened. "No, actually, I... I'd love to sing for you, if you want to hear, of course... I love to sing for people, it's what I do." Kendall stood, brushing the dirt off his clothes before he held out a hand for Percy, offering to help him up, his eyes glowing with eagerness at the idea of singing for his new friend. "We can meet again tomorrow, if you want. We could meet here or..." He paused for a moment, thinking. "There's a really small beach nearby, on our island. It's hidden under the cliffs*, I don't think anyone goes there. So we could meet there, if you want.."
(*Probably hollowed out. So like the sand part is in a hollowed part under the cliffs, but it still leads to water. Idk. It looked cooler in my head. Sorry...)

(LOOL Dina, that sounds perfect XD But how does my boy get down? Does he learn how to rock-climb?)
"Is it easy to climb down? You might have to fly me again." A grin lifted Percival's lips and he happily took his help and stood. He groaned and rested his head on the first possible resting place--Kendall's shoulder. For a few moments he stayed like that, waiting for his pounding headache to recede, and the room spun. Slowly, he lifted his head and smiled again. "I'll find a way, either by a ladder, or by climbing down. Well, there might even be a super easy way to get down. Let's go. I have a bad feeling that my head is going to really hurt. Hey, are you big enough for me to ride on? Or, talons only?"
(Do. Not. Be.Dirty.)

(Maybe there's a path? Like not necessarily a clean cut path, but it's a path regardless)
Kendall had flinched a little bit when Percy rested his head on his shoulder, feeling a bit awkward. But he said nothing and smiled still. "There could be a trail nearby. If not, I can fly you down." He smirked softly. "I guess it'd be good practice." Kendall stepped away for a moment, glancing outside the cave, wondering. Who had ever heard of a pemanu carrying someone on their back? It was unheard of, or probably really rare. They carried mostly with their talons. "I-I think I can try carrying you," Kendall said, looking back at Percy. "I'd rather do that than hit your head again," he said this with a sheepish smile. "Is there anywhere in particular you want me to drop you off at or...?"
