Imani's lips pursed and she glanced away. She started pacing back and forth. "Maybe you can think of your favorite one and then you can tell me it later." Her feet came to stop and she glanced up at him, giving a small laugh. "I can tell you might come from a tribe like that. You look really strong and you act... confident." A smirk curled her lips. Proud, really. Nearing asshole, sometimes, but she wouldn't say that. "Will you be fine for tonight?" Imani searched her pockets and then brought out some of her tribe's delicacies, ones she brought around to feed her throughout the day, and then she placed the cloth on the ground with the delicacies placed on top of it.
She walked away so he could grab it. Sometimes it was best to do what her illusions wanted her to, because she couldn't really ignore them.

Cautiously, Areus reached forward to grab one of the delicacies, eyeing it for a moment. He couldn't figure it out.. Why would she give him food if she didn't think he was real? "Thank you," Areus nodded his thanks. Even if she hadn't given him food, exhaustion was starting to press down upon his shoulders. There would have been no hunting until he felt well enough to. The fish didn't count. "For helping me and being patient through all my questions. If you can handle one more before you leave, how can you tell what the time is?" Areus was only slightly aware of the problems being underground with no sky to get him through his daily routine would cause. Later, he thought.

Her shoulders lifted and dropped in a shrug. She ventured her eyes to his, having the ability to search his eyes for about fifteen seconds before having to drop them. "Oh," searching through her beads, she found a crystal and lifted it so that Areus could see. "This particular crystal changes color about every hour, so that's how we tell time... I actually should get back soon. And you look a bit tired." Her eyes searched his and she bit her lower lip. "You don't have any wounds that are infected, do you?"

"Not that I'm aware of," he muttered quietly, taking a moment to glance down at himself and his wounds, double checking. Areus glanced back up at Imani, smiling once again. "I'll be okay for the night. You should head back before you're missed. Good night and thanks again for your help." He nodded to her before turning away. Carefully, the warrior had gathered all that Imani had given to him as well as the fish he had caught to create a little treasure pile. Since Areus had already dismissed Imani and had turned away, the warrior peeled off his mask, rubbing his hands over his face. Cadoc, what a day it's been...

Imani opened her mouth to say something, but it vanished from her mind when she saw him reaching up to take off his mask. It didn't matter if he had his back turned to her, and it didn't matter if he had already seen her without her mask, she was blushing incredibly deeply. Quickly, she escaped the small tunnel and was down the hallway. Perhaps it was the fact that he didn't acknowledge that she was still there and did it that caused her embarrassment--or maybe...
She didn't know.
Shaking her head, she inwardly cursed herself for having these reactions to someone unreal. He must have been her imaginative friend because Shetani found her own friend--Amadi. Perhaps she should ask him to transform for her...

The following morning, Imani scavenged as much food as she could, placing all of it inside a small bag. One the things she stopped doing was asking herself questions. Instead, she just decided to actually do. After collecting food, she went through the different herbs she had, some of which she had for fast healing, and a bit for others that she had for when her monthly devil came.
With a bag all packed up, she slipped out of the hut and down the caves. Even if she promised not to question herself anymore, she wondered if her mirage would even be there when she brought all this stuff. Quietly, she walked through the pathways till she came across the particular one that she first ran into him.
Hesitantly, she stepped quietly into the area and whispered, "Areus?"

By the time Imani had arrived to Areus' new home, the warrior had, apparently, just woken up. He was always so used to waking up at the crack of dawn to begin a rough day of training. But, without that worry -or someone to wake him up early- lion boy had been able to sleep in. Waking up with a stone ceiling above him certainly didn't help. The warrior had at least sat himself up by the time she arrived. And by the time he heard her calling to him, Areus was lazily trying to fix his bed head. He lifted his gaze- one that was still hidden under his mask- to her and smiled tiredly. "Good.. morning?" He proceeded cautiously, unsure of the time. "Or afternoon.. I don't really know what time it is." Only for a moment, the warrior stood and began to stretch, something very routine back in his tribe. Areus cracked his back and stretched his arms before sitting down once again. "But the good news is is that my wounds didn't kill me, so I guess that's good." Cautious once more, Areus asked in a softer voice, "How are you?"

"Morning?" Imani said in fake shock, "Poor Areus! It's far into the afternoon, in fact, it's night time!" Then a giggle left her and she carefully walked over to him, but not too close. Slowly, she slid down and pulled her bag off her shoulder. "It's morning. Sorry for waking you.. I just didn't want to leave you hungry. Plus, I was carrying a lot and later in the day there are more guards..." She sifted through the bag and the took out two small pouches. "This is for pain... the brown one, and you should only have a small pinch, once a day, and this one is for healing and infection. You can have two pinches a day. The bluish bag. There is more food in here..."
Imani pushed the bag towards him and pulled away so he could grab it. She settled down, wrapping her arms around her legs. "I get my own food, so others won't notice the sudden disappearance of it. Did you sleep okay?"

"I feel like I slept on a rock," Areus muttered, pulling the food bag closer to himself. "Which I guess I did." Before he even began to eat, the warrior eyed the herbs with disdain. All he could remember was the foul bitter taste of the herbs his tribe's healers forced the warriors to eat. No. He would suffer through that later. Eating quietly, his amber gaze lifted to hers from time to time. Curious as ever, Areus could not stop himself from asking his next question, though he did so in a softer voice. "Hey, I really appreciate all of your help, I really do.. But why do you keep helping me if you don't think I'm real? Why waste herbs and food on me?" Hoping his words hadn't upset her, Areus began to eat quietly, his gaze falling.

A small laugh left Imani when he complained about sleeping on a rock. She watched him with open curiosity before turning her head away from him, curiosity burning within them. He seemed so...real. That was the trick of her brain, though. She couldn't fall into that. She couldn't let herself think he was real. Pressing her lips together, she shrugged. Another thing she could tell was that he acted cautiously around her. It wasn't that she was offended. In fact, it was quite the opposite. She was grateful. A sigh left her lips and she smiled lightly, "It's kind of like easing your demons. If you keep ignoring that you're sad, it will just get worse. My illusions are kind of like that. The more I try to ignore them, the worse they get... sometimes. But by helping you guys out, it helps my brain, I suppose? Because then after you're all healed, you'll go away..."
A sigh left Imani and she pressed her face into her legs, wrapping up in a ball. "I wish I wasn't..."
Demented.
A freak.
She remembered the blissful days when things were always true and real...

Silence fell over him as he listened to Imani, heard her explanation. Areus couldn't help but feel sorry for her. And worse yet, there was nothing he could do since she didn't believe she was real. It was odd. They hadn't known each other that long and Areus had already decided that she looked better with a smile. Her smile, her laughter. It was something to be treated like a rare gift. And it was something he'd rather see compared to the lonely person Areus saw in front of him. If he couldn't help her, then perhaps he could console her. "Hey," the warrior started softly, glancing up at Imani. "I don't think you're crazy."
