The pirate opened his mouth to snap at Marco, and then paused. His face paled and he quickly stepped away. "M-Marco, of course." He stepped away, casting one glance at Charlot before quickly scampering away. Anger boiled in his gut. If he didn't go back with Charlot, then he didn't get his guaranteed freedom. But then again... he lay low for a long while. Pausing, the pirate glanced back at Charlot. "They'll soon figure out I didn't get you." With that, he walked away and hid into the crowd, grumbling angrily to himself. Who would want to protect a skinny stupid man like that?
Charlot didn't move. He stared at Marco, not understanding. Numbly, he took out his phone and began dialing his father's phone number. It went to voice mail. Laurence pushed himself under Charlot's arm and wined softly, looking at Charlot with sorrow. Laurence looked up at Marco and flattened his ears, pleading him with his eyes to help Charlot even more.

The captain couldn't restrain himself from glaring down at the dog, but it was only because he was pissed. "Come on, Charlot," he growled, going to hook his arms under the other's shoulders. If Marco had been able to, he tried dragging Charlot away so they could head back to his ship. Marco couldn't help the growl that rumbled in his throat. Angry. Always angry. And pissed. "You and this crew and this fucking island are (is? grammar? how do?) the reasons I went home. I'm sure you resistance dogs knew that. I went home and then they dragged me back, Charlot. And you know what? You're in the exact same position I am; you let them dig your grave for you. There's no way out. No matter who you're affiliated with. No matter your intentions or morals. You're trapped."

Charlot mindlessly listened to Marco's words, not fighting against him. Tears filled his eyes and weak sobs began to leave him. No words came out of his throat; he had nothing to say, or to respond. His body shook with grief and he numbly said, "That... that is in... the records..." He was having trouble focusing on one language, all different sorts of words jumbled in his brain. "I think I said... something of the like before, and... you tried to kill me."

His jaws clenched as anger fired through him. Charlot had missed the point. But the man obviously seemed too out of it to understand. Marco sighed, dropping his anger and the subject. "Forget it, let's just get back to the ship before something else goes wrong.." And if Cloudy had no complaint, then maybe the captain was able to bring Charlot back with him to the ship with no problem. Maybe. "If you need some time to pull yourself together, you can stay in my room for a while. No one will bother you there." Meanwhile, he began wondering what it would be like to sleep on the deck. Or the hallways. Just put a sleeping bag there and never bother crawling out again. Yes. Perfect.

Charlot looked up at Marco, searching his eyes. "Thank you..." Charlot said dumbly, not entirely sure of what to say. He looked down, miserably. "I'm not sure what use I can be to you..." He shook his head. "Perhaps a throw rug. Laurence would make a nice rug."
Laurence let out a small growl, but it was lighthearted. The partner understood that Charlot was running on absolutely nothing at the moment and was saying anything other than: He's gone.
A sob shook Charlot and he tried to hold it in, shaking his head. Perhaps, if Dina wants, Marco had brought Charlot to his headquarters. "I'll... I'll wait for your return and then perhaps we can see if there's anything I can do..." He muttered on to himself, shakily bringing himself inside Marco's room. It probably didn't take him long to bring himself to the ground and hold his head.

(LOL Marco's gonna sleep in the hall and it's gonna be great and he's just going to be curled up in a sleeping back and his crew will be so confused. But then he'll wake up cranky because his back hurts.)
"I guess we'll see," the captain muttered quietly before stepping from the room, closing the door behind him. He suddenly paused, hand still clenched around the metal doorknob, eyes locked on the closed door. Not that the resistance man was in the shape to go snooping through his room, but Marco was worried about what would happen if Charlot lifted the rugs and found ghastly claw marks everywhere. He probably wouldn't care. And surely the Resistance knew, didn't they? They knew everything else, whether he wanted them to or not.
Marco let out a disgruntle snorted and stepped away from the room. It didn't matter. It wasn't important. What was important was getting away from the islands as soon as possible. Marco trekked down the halls of his ship, heading back up to the deck.

(And then Kiya will sleep with Charlot and Dusty will be so pissed)
Percival quickly ran down where he was pointed to and nearly ran into Marco, but he skidded to a stop. "First, I heard-" He realized how informally he was talking and quickly held up his hands, a blush scattering across his cheeks. "Excuse me, Captain Marco," he dipped his head down and then glanced up at Marco. "I was wondering a couple of things, if you didn't mind me asking. Kyru would like to see his brother, and he would like to know where he is, and I was wondering... I heard some of the guys saying that they heard the weird guy with the dog is back on board?"

(LOLOL oh, a nice lovely French guy. Just what she needs. He'll be more of a pleasure than Dusty. LOL )
Marco stared at Percy for a good moment, his brows folding. "Kyru doesn't really need to ask if he can see his brother. Never has before." He shrugged it off. "Kida is probably still watching over the stowaways. If he listened to me of course." Marco began walking forward, motioning for Percy to follow him. "There was some sort of.. confrontation down on the docks. Charlot hadn't even been off the ship for five minutes..," he growled. "So, instead of leaving him there, I brought him back onto the ship and I guess we'll have to see how things go.. If we ever stop in Eloria, we can just drop him off there."

(LOLOL LOL except Charlot has less experience than Dusty. He's just an insanely good kisser.)
Percival fell in step beside Marco and couldn't help but smile lightly when he heard his story. Instead of commenting on his happiness that Marco was such a soft-heart, he looked forward and nodded. "Well, I can keep an eye on him until then, if you want. The others might no appreciate a Resistance member on the ship, so you might have to make him swear in front of everyone not to betray secrets, or something like that."
He couldn't tell Marco that Kyru was actually hiding a present and couldn't ask Marco directly, or he would see the present. He needed to find his brother to give Marco the present.
Percival's brows shot up as soon as he made a realization. "You brought the guy into your cabin..." He turned to look at Marco quizzically. "What happened?"

(Good enough, good enough.)
(Should we have them go find Kida, so we can include the cute scene of Kida and Xan, and possibly awkward Cyril?)
"You have to know every detail, don't you?" Marco noted. "But I don't really know what happened. Another pirate had cornered him and I chased the man off. And he said something about 'them' knowing the pirate hadn't been able to get Charlot. And Charlot's depressed about something. I'm not a detective, Percy. I don't have time to connect the dots. And he's not in the mood to be interrogated. So I decided he'd be better off in my cabin in the meantime. So no one will bother him."
