Clyde stood straighter and his eyes passed over at August. "How many children did Kenneth have?"
A snort left August and a small smirk curled his lips, "You knew so quickly that she was his daughter."
"How could I not? She looks the mere image of him--sorry to discuss you as if you weren't here, Mrs. McCarther," he paused and glanced over at Charles. "McCarther?"
"Ah, yes, I took her last name," Charles smiled lightly. "I had no reason to keep mine."
"Of course. Must keep the McCarther name alive and all. Your small little family is free to stay as long as you require, Mrs. McCarther." Clyde couldn't help but feel all relaxed anyways. He paused a few moments and then took a few steps closer to Elizabeth, his eyes on the child before him. "I understand how difficult it is to take care of children. I can't imagine having to deal with so many..." He glanced up at her and gave a sharp nod before stepping away. "Feel free to use the kitchen if you need for you children." He stepped towards the chair and paused, glancing over at Elizabeth. "Don't feel rushed. Take any rest if you need it."

Charles, you're such a bitch.
Elizabeth's fur seemed to lie flatter when Clyde said it was alright for them to stay. In fact, she looked almost relieved, enough to show Clyde only a pinch of how tired she was with taking care of three kids. Remembering to be polite, Elizabeth dipped her head. "Thank you, Mr. Tudor. I promise we won't be any trouble." Maybe she gave a small smile as she said, "I look like Kenneth, but I can assure you I'm not like him.."
(So, are Clyde and August and any of them aware that Elaine's kid even died? In Clyde's house? I was just curious. XD)

Poor Charles.
Clyde seemed to relax a bit more when Elizabeth seemed less... hostile. He didn't smile, but he looked near to it. Except, the happiness that momentarily was around him evaporated and he gave Elizabeth the closest thing to a sympathetic look that he could muster. "Considering what your daughter must be going through, I don't mind at all if you decide to stay here a month or longer. My apologies... for bringing it up."
August glanced over at Clyde immediately, his brows raising in question. "Pardon me for asking, but what is it that happened?"
Clyde gave August a look at told him "you're being rude", but Charles spoke up before Clyde could make a noise. "Elaine... she's... her daughter has passed away." He glanced over at August, sorrow filling his gaze. (What? did this happen ->) "Clyde helped us arrange a few things, along with a small funeral." (<--I feel like this didn't happen. More people would have noticed.)
"Oh, dear Era," August looked at them, his brows falling together. "I am so sorry to hear of your loss..." He stepped towards Elizabeth, searching her eyes. "If there's anything I can do, I'll help."

(you're right, more people would notice that. But maybe it was a small little thing because Elaine probably didn't let anyone go, except her parents and idk who else.)
"It wasn't my loss as much as it was hers, August," the mother spoke softly, her gaze lowering. "And that's something you should say to Elaine, not us. If you did want to stop by, she's in the room next to ours." In a quiet tone, Elizabeth uttered, "she hasn't left her room for days.." (maybe. idk. or she just visits her parents) Perhaps a visitor who wasn't her mother or father would do Elaine some good. The ketsuki took in a breath, her light red orbs flickering up to Clyde. Once again, she politely dipped her head. "Thank you again, Mr. Tudor, for letting us stay." Since Elizabeth didn't want to dwell on the tragedy that continued to plague their daughter, she caught a glimpse of Charles before she turned to walk away.

(Well, maybe if Alec has been visiting her, she let Alec go, and wasn't she kind of friends with Hiro? But I'm not sure if she would allow Hiro to come, idk...)
Charles caught Elizabeth's gaze and then smiled lightly. "Thank you, Mr. Tudor." He stepped after Elizabeth, his eyes turning with sorrow. A long sigh left him and he glanced over at Elizabeth sadly. "Well," he said quietly to her as soon as they were free from the room. "At least we can get some chance to rest..."
August watched them leave before glancing over at Clyde. Clyde crossed his arms, watching August with a slightly troubled look. "I was going to invite you and Anderson to a fancy restaurant. I suppose I can ask Anderson to see if he'll go without you, because I highly suspect you're going to be getting to know this part of your family very well."
A smile spread August's lips, "Ah... well, yes. You know me so well. And I am sure Anderson would love to go. He enjoys being spoiled, and getting his mind off of his children will help him." Stepping over to Clyde, August trapped him in a one-second hug before turning to go after Elizabeth and Charles, and then he would introduce himself to Elaine...
"McCarthers," Clyde exasperated to Edwin.

"Well, someone has to be able to put up with you," Edwin mused, resting his head on the table once more now that the room had cleared. "It gets tiring after a while if it's just me. Besides, you say that but we all know how you really feel, right?" Oh Edwin, perhaps one of the few people who existed who could tease Clyde and not get his eyes scratched out.
"We'd be able to get some rest even if he said no," Elizabeth mused weakly. "Because I would have stayed anyway." Like father, like daughter. A small weak smile curled her lips, or at least attempted to, only for a sigh to escape her. "A nap sounds really nice.. Maybe when we put the kids down for a nap, I'll join them."

Clyde felt a blush feel his cheeks. "You're such a brat," the noble narrowed his gaze on Edwin and crossed his arms. "I don't even know why I put up with you--ah, wait. I do. You bring me good wine." Walking over to Edwin, Clyde pulled a chair right next to Edwin and then sat down, leaning over to Edwin. "If you didn't have my company, you would have been driven insane because you're father is so... energetic." Very lightly, Clyde's lips twitched. "But now I've been driven to punish you--you're a brat." Leaning over, Clyde wrapped his arms around Edwin, resting his head on his shoulder. Yes, this was punishment. "I suppose we should gather ourselves," Clyde murmured, "and go find Anderson. Then you should propose your idea to him."
Cloudy is wondering if at this point Anderson likes Clyde? She can't remember. Either way, at this point Clyde is still a bit shy.
Charles smiled sadly at his wife. Both of them were exhausted, but he couldn't help but feel guilty. Maybe he should get a vasectomy. Maybe just castrate himself. He winced at the idea. No, no he shouldn't. That would make Kenneth too happy. "Darling, I can put the children to bed. You should just rest."

Edwin didn't really mind the 'punishment.' Instead, he more than likely leaned back into Clyde, smiling softly. "We don't have to go now, if you don't want to. Mm, I don't even know what time it is. Growing up around a bunch of ketsuki is starting to make me more nocturnal, I think," he mused. "Your fault." But, since Clyde suggested going, the malaki complied. He tried pulling away from Clyde so he could stand.
Yes, of course Anderson likes Clyde at this point.
Charles is a McCarther now. Having as many children as possible is essential.
"No, don't worry, Charles, I can handle," Elizabeth smirked lightly back at her husband. "You can put little Troy down and I'll take care of (insert baby's name here) down for (his/her) nap." She let out a quiet sigh as they made their way down the hall back towards the room. "Maybe later we can have someone watch the kids and just go out somewhere.." They probably hadn't been able to much, not with their three children to take care of.

Clyde stood, shaking his head very lightly. "My fault? Oh sure, join the 'everything is Clyde's fault' bandwagon." With amusement in his eyes, he reached over for what was left of his glass and downed the rest of it before walking towards the door. "I wonder where the lazy little rat is..." Clyde murmured to himself, but he felt a but if sympathy for Anderson. If his brother was out and about, that meant that most likely he was alone... and he wouldn't feel too happy with his sons leaving. "Perhaps we will check their room."
(LOL)
"Alright, darling," a tired smile lifted Charles' lips, and perhaps he opened the door for his wife upon reaching it. "Your uncle seemed keen on wanting to help. Perhaps your grandfather might be, too. But then again, your father has made me frightened of all McCarthers, really, so we know who is going to have to do all the asking." Shutting the door being him, Charles walked over to wherever they might put one-year-old Troy to sleep. The child was already practically asleep in Charles' arms, sucking on his father's shirt for good measure.
If Dina wants to start this now, then perhaps August went up to the room beside Charles and Elizabeth's and knocked a few times.

"Lead on then, Clyde, through this labyrinth you call a house." Even though Edwin had already stood, he took a moment to crack his back before walking towards the door of the study. Immediately, a black wolf pranced after him, wagging his tail happily. Lowell couldn't wait to go out for a walk. He barked, demanding for attention, only to succeed when Edwin reached his only hand to pet the black wolf.
"Charles, Kenneth isn't here. You're allowed to be an allowed an adult now and do stuff," Elizabeth muttered as she stepped into the room. She strode over to where they were temporarily keeping the baby, seeing as they didn't have a crib. The mother set the baby down and lovingly cupped the infant's cheek before tucking the baby in and stepping away. Since Charles had Troy handled, Elizabeth made her way over to the bed and flopped down.
As her mother had told August earlier, Elaine hadn't left the room in what felt like ages. The room was empty now, except for her and the future. In the passed few days, the room had become nothing more than a nest of sadness. And it seemed to fall farther and farther into depression with each breath she took, just as she did. Upon hearing the knock at the door, Elaine hadn't bothered moving from her permanent seat on the side of the bed, her arms folded across her chest. "Come in," she called over her shoulder, voice soft and quiet with the sadness that clung to her and the room.
