"Next time I buy a new house I will make it a real labyrinth, just for you Edwin," Clyde took one glance at Lowell before heading through his hallways. Perhaps it didn't take him too long to reach Anderson's and August's room and he knocked on it, feeling a flicker of anxiety run through him. Inwardly, he scolded himself. Why was he nervous to ask Anderson?
Probably because he was afraid Anderson would say no.
Charles bit any irritated reply and swallowed it. Maybe if you stuck up more for me in front of your father, I wouldn't be somewhat fearful of every older ketsuki by the last name of McCarther. Fighting would help neither of them. Closing his eyes, he gently laid down beside Elizabeth and gently ran his fingers through her hair.
August slowly pushed the door open and peered inside. "Hello," August spoke softly. "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die. August.. this might be a bit out of nowhere, but I'm your oldest ancestor," a small smile lifted his lips. "Do you mind if I come in and perhaps get to know you?"

It took a moment or so before anyone responded on the other side of the door. Anderson had been taking a nap. He woke up whenever along with his brother and decided that he wanted to sleep more. While yes, Anderson was sad about his sons leaving him, Anderson had been able to find some peace. He hadn't seen Kaleb and Kenneth in years and had been able to made amends. All was well, and he'd see them again. Yes, still sad, but not empty like before.
When Anderson heard someone knock on the door, he groaned tiredly. But a moment later, he managed to get off the bed. Too bad August wasn't around to see his little mouse with adorable bed head. The tired ketsuki opened the door, staring sleepily up at Clyde. "Can't you just get August or someone else to do it? We're not the only workers here."
(What do we do with these two now?)
The new voice certainly threw Elaine off, only because her parents were the only ones who ever came around. The young ketsuki glanced over her shoulder and saw August. She stood, facing her ancestor with a weak tired glare. "I don't need to know anyone else from my family," her voice croaked out. Any McCarther passed her mother.. Damn them. "And I'm not taking visitors. Just go.."

Clyde bit his tongue and immediately stepped away. It wasn't rare to see Anderson so disheveled, but Clyde knew that August would have died to see him look like this. "Of course," Clyde narrowed his gaze on Anderson. "If you wish to sleep more, go ahead. It wasn't anything important." He turned his head, feeling a small blush crawl onto his cheeks. "Edwin here just wanted to go for a walk and then perhaps go get some dinner." He shot a glare over towards Anderson. "I was going to invite you, but you seem quite sleepy, so go ahead and catch more rest."
(We can have them rest... or... idk XDD do you want to RP Them more, or leave them alone?)
August crossed his arms and rested against the door frame, watching Elaine with a calculating gaze. "You won't even take a visit from a lonely old man?" He raised a brow. "Elaine," a small smile lifted his lips. "You must be tired of your parents visiting you. Let me entertain you for a fifteen minutes, only fifteen, and then if by then you're still not taking visitors, I'll leave you be."

Anderson's brows perked. He lifted his hands to rub the sleepiness from his eyes. "Oh, a walk? And then dinner? That sounds nice." Anderson let his arms drop to his sides and he glanced out into the hall. "Is August going too?" But the ketsuki retreated back into his room so he could get dressed.
(We can always come back to them later. XD )
Elaine's fists clenched as anger flared through her. "Gods, you're just as stubborn as everyone else in this stupid family. Just listen to me, please.." Her anger seemed to deflate after her plea. And Elaine found herself sitting on the bed again. "Just leave me alone..."

Clyde wondered if they should just leave Anderson there, but then pushed the door open and walked inside. "No. Your brother found a new distressed family member, so he has to his motherly thing." He walked to a small bookcase and grabbed a random book before finding a seat, not looking up at Anderson. "So, if you can't stand doing something without your brother," with me, "then feel free to just stay." He made sure his voice was carefully without any emotion, not wanting to sound like a pouting child.
(I imagine their room big and extravagant? I'msorry)
A small smile curled August's lips and sympathy filled his eyes. Instead of entering the room, he stayed where he was. He slowly eased down onto the ground, sitting in the doorway of the room. He let his head roll back so he could glance upwards in thought. "Loss is a painful thing," August murmured quietly. "And I know its pain well..." He glanced over at her, carefully. "I've never had any children of my own, so in turn I suppose I like to take care of all of those in my family. Elaine... I can't imagine you really want to be alone." He watched her. "It might be hard for you to speak, but I'm right here, fresh ears. I don't know what happened, at all, and it might help you to speak..."

"So, August found another child to comfort, huh?" Anderson mused, pulling a clean shirt on over the one he already wore. Or maybe it was a vest. Who knows. But, despite his desire to always with his brother, Anderson could respect the distance they needed every now and again, especially if August found someone who needed him. "Come now, Clyde. Of course I'll go with you. Someone needs to be there to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't get into trouble."
"I don't want to talk about it," came her soft broken voice. Elaine buried her face into her hands for a moment before glancing up. It felt like that was all she did these days.. Cry and hide herself away. Why couldn't they just go home? So she could hide herself in her room like she used to. "I don't want any pity from anyone from my mother's family. My grandfather already had enough to do with me.."

A blush produced on Clyde's cheeks and he glanced over to give Anderson a bored expression. "Maybe you'll finally earn your paycheck." He glanced at the cover of the book he plucked from the shelf and opened it to the middle. His nose scrunched up and he tossed the book aside. "Are you ready yet? Poor Edwin is probably starving." He pushed himself off the chair and crossed his arm, looking impatient as ever.
August felt irritation roll through him. "Well, granted Kenneth might be your grandfather, but do keep in mind he doesn't represent the rest of us." He glanced to the side. "Kenneth is horribly misguided. And he is only a mere child." A smirk curled his lips as he glanced over at Elaine. "I like to believe your great grandfather is brought up a lot better than Kenneth has been." He slowly moved into the room, beginning to close the door so he could lean back against it. "Though, my father and mother died about four centuries ago. I had to raise myself along with Anderson." Pausing, August looked over at Elaine. "What is your father's family like? Do you know his last name?"

"Oh, well, if you were in such a hurry to go, you should have said so earlier," Anderson mused as he finished getting ready. The hopeless ketsuki probably didn't worry about his hair, only because his brother/father/mother wasn't there to brush it for him. It was amazing Anderson had lasted as long as he had. "Alright, I'm ready. Let's go before Edwin keels over." And if Dina didn't mention it before, Edwin had stayed in the hall, with his partner draping himself across Edwin's lap.
"His last name was Reynolds, but that's all I know," Elaine said quietly, drawing her knees up to her chest. "He never told me anything else about them. I'm sure he told my mom all about them. Go ask them. I'm not a very exciting person, okay? I lost my d-" There was a rather painful pause as she considered her words. The young ketsuki took in a sharp yet quiet breath. No, no tears now.. Not now... "A-and my fiance has been gone for some time now.. But that's all there is you need to know. Are you done?"

"Even if I said so, you would have taken your sweet time," Clyde said, rolling his eyes as he glanced over at Anderson and immediately narrowed his gaze on Anderson's hair. "You're ready?" Walking over to Anderson, Clyde reached up and began to try and sort Anderson's hair, his eyes narrowed in concentration. "How do you even handle yourself?" Then he pulled his hands away, crossing his arms and frowning at Anderson. "I suppose the difference is-" Clyde cut himself off. "No, never mind." There was no reason to say what he was going to say. Anderson's been taken care of all his life. Clyde has had to take care of himself his entire life. He turned and headed out the door.
August felt a small smile pull at his lips. "No, Elaine. I am never done." He slowly pushed himself up and walked over to her, though he sat down in front of her and looked up at her curiously. "I know it's hard right now, Elaine, though eventually you're going to have to see that while you have lost those that you care about, you have to appreciate the time that you've had with them.." His voice softened and he searched her eyes. "I know how much it hurts... I've lost many that I've cared about, and almost lost my brother a time or two." August reached up and held out his palms for Elaine, knowing very well she might not take his hands, but he offered them anyways. "Loss is painful, but there are people here to comfort you."
August looked around the room and then glanced at her. "If you're tired of this room, we can take a walk. If might help to get out and breathe some fresh air, or even get away from your parents."

Anderson internally found it adorable that Clyde had fixed his hair and he would definitely tell August about it later. With a smile, he followed after the noble. "I've lasted this long, haven't I?" If they made it out into the hall, perhaps the ketsuki's gaze dropped down to Edwin. "Hello. Edwin~" He said in a pleasant tone. "Sorry to have kept you waiting. It was all Clyde's fault."
With a smile to match Anderson's, Edwin stood and his partner hopped into place beside him. "Don'r worry about it, Anderson. Clyde's probably just hung over. Or at least looking forward to being hung over." This roused a laugh from Anderson, all the while Edwin smirked lightly over at Clyde. "Are we ready to go?"
Elaine regarded August for what felt like an eternity with scrutiny. but she was tired of the room.. Tired of the same four walls, tired of the same colors and decorations.. Tired of the agonizing memories, of the laughter.. The crying.. She had built her own cage to suffer in silence in, but perhaps taking a step out for a moment couldn't possibly hurt anymore than locking herself away. "Okay," she finally said in a muted voice, lifting her small hand to cautiously grasp one of his own. "Just.. for a little while. And only if you leave me alone after."
