Clyde rolled his eyes at Anderson's words. "Oh yes. Sorry, I'm so hung over, it took forever to dress Anderson seeing as he doesn't have to ability to do it himself." His poor cheeks. Edwin and Anderson combined seemed like a bad choice, especially since his cheeks felt like they were blazing. "I've been ready for a while now." Pausing, Clyde glanced at Edwin. "Where would you like to eat? Or shall we just walk until we find something that deems worthy enough?"
Surprise flickered across August's face for a moment before he was able to reign it back under his control. A warm smile lifted his lips and he said, "I'll leave you alone for a bit, if that's what you wish." He moved to stand, and then gently pulled her up. "The night is a lovely one. It's been a while since I've just walked around. It'll be a nice change of course." If allowed, August linked his arm with Elaine's and gently pulled her out of the room. "Did you go to school, Elaine?"
Perhaps Elaine might appreciate mindless questions, if not talking about the specific subject.

"Deemed worthy enough?" Edwmin echoed with a light smirk. "In that case, we'll never find anywhere to eat. Come on, Clyde. I know you're a noble and all, but it wouldn't kill you to eat at a diner with the common folk, would you? It's always places like that that have the best food! Well, not that it matters much to you two.."
Elaine probably did appreciate the questions. It prevented her mind from wandering too close to those memories that hurt so much. And Dina apologizes for the answer, she has no idea and just guessed. "No.. I was taught at home. I spent a lot of my time in our home." She lifted a free hand to brush through her hair. "My affinity made me a very sad child." With a quiet snort, Elaine couldn't help but mutter, "Not that that's changed at all.."

Clyde opened his mouth to reply but suddenly snapped it shut as his fading blush strengthened. "Ah, well," Clyde looked at Edwin with open curiosity. "Take us to wherever pleases you." Here came the part that had him blushing: "I was just going to spoil Anderson a bit." Clearing his throat, Clyde added, "Albeit, I was going to spoil both Anderson and August, but it seems August would rather play great grandmother." He waved his hand through the air, feeling flustered and embarrassed with saying it all out loud. "I don't care where we go. Just choose a place."
Perhaps by now they reached the front door, and if they had, then a servant probably held the door open for them.
A smirk curled August's lips, "Well, I was quite the frustrating child. I've done some incredibly terrible things..." He winced visibly. "Not that I would ever say exactly what I did." With a lighter smirk, he glanced over at Elaine. "I've worked incredibly hard to get control over my frustration.. What is your sense?" August closed his eyes for a moment, trying to figure the weather. It wasn't something he had bothered doing for quite some time. Not since he was safe and warm. He opened his eyes and looked down at Elaine. "I can sense weather conditions."

"I'm sure August enjoys tending to children more than he likes going out," Anderson mused from behind Clyde and Edwin.
Edwin smiled back at Anderson before returning his attention to Clyde, stepping out of the grand house. "I know a good place in the town nearby. I'm sure it's still open." Well, he hoped. "And if not, you can find somewhere rich ad fancy to take us, alright?"
Unlike August, Elaine didn't glance up at her relative. Her gaze was locked in front of them, or on the floor they walked across. "I can (sense what race someone is)." There was a pause as Elaine thought of something to ask, suddenly feeling like dead weight August had to prod to get a response. "How.." the young ketsuki started tentatively. "How old are you?"

"Perfect," Clyde nodded, he stepped down onto the road and paused for a moment, glancing around the dark woods. He wasn't afraid... but cautious. "You're not too hungry, are you?" His eyes fell on Edwin. He would hate it if Edwin's been starving for hours, waiting for Clyde to offer him dinner. Instead he's been getting his full of wine. He then glanced back at Anderson, wondering how he was doing, too.
But was it his place to ask? He began walking and hoped for the best.
"Oh," August's brows raised. "That's quite the talent." Then his expression curved into a smirk. "Old. I am incredibly old, but not as old as Gabriel. I am four-hundred-and-twenty-[six] years old. A long time to take care of my younger brother, wouldn't you agree?" A chuckle left August. "Your great grandfather is four-hundred-and-seven." Stepping in front of Elaine, perhaps they had reached the back door of Clyde's house, August pulled the door open for her. "And you?"

"Oh," Edwin started. "I don't know. I think I'm always hungry. I'm pretty old, but sometimes I think I have the appetite of a growing teenage boy." He smiled wistfully, remembering his less awkward days as a teenager with his father. Edwin really did love his father, but it seemed their was nothing to stop the ache of missing his brother. And it was a sad thought knowing that he had been alive and alone much longer than he had been with his brother.
But this was no time to be depressing. He could have fun now.
The young ketsuki stepped outside before she stopped and glanced back, a if waiting for him to follow and lead the way. Not only was it his idea to take a walk, he did know the layout of the house a lot better than she did... "I'm only forty-four.. But I already feel so old, like I've already lived centuries."

"Better watch your appetite before you grow yourself a gut," Clyde pointed out, raising a brow at Edwin. The look he had pinched Clyde's chest, and he let out a breath. "I remember when your father first brought you in..." Pressing his lips together, Clyde wondered how much he should say. Very lightly, he said, "Well... the first time I met your father... was somewhat of a heartache for me. Dark hair and yellow-hued eyes.. it reminded me of my first son. And then he brought you around, a sad little child for me to watch. It seems as if he was intent on bringing me heart ache." Then, he added to lighten the mood, "well, it would of course if I had a heart. It seems as if I've lost mine some centuries ago."
August stepped out and closed the door before beginning to lead the way. A small laugh left him and he watched Elaine with a soft smile. "Just wait till you're my age, and then realize you haven't even lived a third of your life." His smile dropped, but not the kindness on his face. "Forty-four..." August breathed. "So young..." Too young to live such a sad life. "Do you still remember what food tastes like then? What was your favorite dish?"

Anderson decided it was time for him to intervene. He stepped into place beside Clyde, trying to rest a comforting hand on the noble's shoulder. "Mm, come now, Clyde~ Now's not the time to bring up such depressing stories. We're out for a night of fun with your dear little Edwin." With a soft laugh, he went on. "Just try to smile and enjoy yourself, okay?"
"I don't really remember," Elaine muttered. "It's.. just not something I've thought about lately." In a quiet voice, she added sadly, "I haven't really thought about anything else. Not-not since them." Feeling overwhelmed by the sudden onslaught of sadness and urge to breakdown again, the poor ketsuki stopped walking and covered her face with her hands. "I'm sorry," came her muffled voice from behind her hands. "I just need a moment..."

'Your dear little Edwin' put a blush on Clyde's face, and he narrowed his eyes and gave a frown, the exact opposite of what Anderson just advised him to. "I don't smile." He said so, a bit stubbornly, which almost put a smile on his face but he quickly banished it. "I don't see why I'm the one carrying conversation." His eyes fell to Anderson's hand for a moment before falling in front of him, his blush deepening. "Have you been-" Pausing, Clyde looked over at Anderson. "I was going to ask Edwin about his books, but before he goes on and on about that," a tease? Why yes. "What profession would have you been after, if you were able to? I know your brother would have worked on his clay."
August stopped and quickly turned towards Elaine. Sorrow and sympathy filled him, but he pushed it down and gently put a hand on each of her shoulders. "I know the pain of loss," August whispered, "and I still feel it." Reaching up, he gently ran his fingers through her hair. "Focus on happy memories, Elaine. Do you want to tell me one of your happiest memories you have with them?"

Perhaps it didn't take much longer for them to reach the small diner. Despite the time, the small restaurant was still bustling with activity, serving families, single customers, and the like. Luckily there was enough room for their group as Edwin requested a table for three. The hostess sat them in a table near the corner of the joint and their waiter soon followed and took their drink orders. Left alone now, Edwin adjusted himself in his chair while Anderson couldn't help but read the menu even though he couldn't taste anything. The older ketsuki lost himself in cute thoughts of him being able to take his sons to little places like these.
"So, I hope this place isn't too low class for you," Edwin mused over at Clyde, lightly nudging his partner who lay under the table with his foot.
Unconsciously, Elaine leaned in to August's touch, appreciating the comforting gesture. "I don't know," she sniffled. There were so many and at the same time, there were so few.. "Sometimes just waking up in the morning with both of them being there.." A sharp contrast to the present. "Or that one time Damien proposed to me.. I thought we had a future together."
