They probably were approaching the village, exiting the smaller caverns they trekked through, now probably appearing more out in the open. But the sudden change in Amadi's tone silenced the young woman, and she didn't even feel like correcting him that she was indeed, technically, a grown woman and the matriarch of her tribe. But, she wasn't dumb, though. Shetani started making connections, thinking about how this strange man from a tribe far away from hers had stumbled into the underground after a monster. "Did a monster kill your mother, Amadi?"

Tears began to glisten in his eyes, but he bit hard into his cheek to stop them. He didn't want to get this personal to a stranger, but he supposed that he had to tell someone. With a weaker voice, he said, "Yes." He swallowed thickly and gained the courage to say: "She saved me and distracted them, but... they tore her in two." He wondered if he could hear him at all. He could barely hear himself. His ears roared with his heart beat and pain, but there probably was little to no other sound.
Which was a mistake above all else. "It's the leader!" The words slurred and didn't make sense, but he turned too late. A spear came up behind him and pointed at his neck. "Who are you, male?" The female voice spat angrily.
Amadi knew better than to make a joke now, "She met with some trouble and I helped her." He spoke carefully, far more distant than before. His hold on Shetani loosened.
The woman warrior walked around him, glaring at him from behind a crude mask. "I asked who you are!" She snarled.
"Perhaps you should get help for your leader," Amadi spoke dryly.

Since Amadi's hold on her had loosened, Shetani took this as a sign that they were to depart now. She took a step away from her rescuer and lifted a hand to the guard. "Stand down. If this guy was causing me trouble, then I wouldn't have had him help me back." She rolled her eyes, though it was hidden by her mask. "Just let him go and take me to the shaman."
Shetani turned to glance at Amadi and though her mask hid her face, one could hear the smile on her voice, and perhaps the sympathy that was for Amadi alone. "Thanks for saving me, and for helping me back." She dipped her head to the male, an action that her mother would kill her for if she saw. "Good luck with everything."

The guard sucked in her breath when she saw the exchange between Amadi and Shetani. Her jaw clenched tightly. Amadi glanced up at Shetani, "Thank you. And thanks for your company. Please keep in mind with what I said about the monsters, and your leg. Goodbye, Shetani." He dipped his head to her.
Amadi, raised outside of a tribe, didn't know how to address chiefs and so on. This aggravated the guard. "Speak to her properly!" A snarl left the female guard, and she twisted her spear around to slam it into his side, but Amadi instinctively dodged away from it. His hands went to his blades, which caused the female the let out a cry of alarm. "Are you stupid!?" She rushed forward to grab him, but he tried to pull away again. The tips of her fingers grazed onto a charm that hung around his neck. Amadi's heart stopped, and before he could stop anything, the guard pulled. The necklace broke off his neck and beads dropped to the floor.
Amadi reached, a bit desperately for a beads, but he froze when he heard shouting. He waited for a few moments, frozen and unable to move away from one of the last things from his mother. Pursuing guards flashed him his sense. He turned and made a run for it. A few steps, and he melted into his leopard form. He ran.

The events that transpired in front of her did not please Shetani, not one bit. "Enough!" She shouted, turning towards the guards. "I said stand down! One more move towards him and you'll be demoted to a miner!" Which was probably impossible for a woman to become, but she just needed them to stop going after Amadi.
Carefully, despite her injured leg, Shetani knelt down and started to gather the beads to Amadi's necklace. The way she saw that he tried reaching down for it seemed to imply that he wanted it, so she couldn't leave the necklace there. If any of the guards were still there, the matriarch stood on shaky legs and held the beads close. "One of you help me to the shaman right now."

The female guard froze at her words and turned to watch Shetani. Another one of the guards stepped towards her and gently took her arm. "My apologies," the young guard spoke apologies. "Please don't strain yourself... what happened?" She glanced up at the other guard who was fuming with anger. "Tya, leave him." The first female guard whipped around, looking as if she were going to whip the young guard. "A-Are you ready?" The guard stuttered to Shetani.
(Did she grab all the beads? X3)

(She probably did~)
"If you weren't so ready to slit his throat, then you would have heard him say something about these strange beasts appearing in the tunnels." Whether or not the guard was ready to help her, Shetani found herself trudging forward so she could get back to the village, with or without the guards.
If Cloudy wants, perhaps we could skip to them getting back to the village. Perhaps either to the healer or to her going home and interacting with her sister. It's whatever Cloudy wants. So what does she want?

(I can't remember what we said, if we wanted her to be at the house or not, but I am going to do that. I hope that's okay...)
She first heard it as a whisper of gossip. It was by chance. The leader got attacked. A strike of fear dropped through her. But of course, whispers were whispers. Who was to stay that the whispers were true? Who was to say they were real? Her small body began to shiver with uncertainty because she could go to no one and ask.
If it were a hallucination, how would someone react? What if they were to think that she would harm her sister? Then they would lock her up. And she would be alone with the voices. Would that be too bad? She could be alone, and no one would ever harm her again.
A whimper escaped through her lips. Imani covered her lips. At the moment, she wasn't at home. She sneaked through the shadows and was about to go out for a walk in the caverns, perhaps to the oasis, when she heard such a gossiping whisper.
Now she had to confirm it. She worked her way back towards home and she took her time. Then she heard a familiar voice, one that didn't belong to one of her hallucinations. "I heard a strange man carried her home, her leg was mangled..."
Imani felt her pace quicken. She ran as fast as she could, back towards her home.
(You could be the mother? Idk how she acts... DX I'm sorry, you could have her resting in her room or something.)

But there was no need to worry, as her sister was already home, having already been taken to the healers. Now Shetani rested on (furs/a bed/if they have a couch), her leg wrapped and her purple eyes examining the beads she had picked up after Amadi had left. She couldn't help but remember watching him trying to get to them before being driven away. She wanted to get them back to him.
Another figure entered the room, but Shetani wasn't paying enough attention to realize it was her mother who had come in. She wasn't paying enough attention to notice the anger and irritation that burned her mother's face. "You are perhaps one of the most foolish leaders this tribe has ever seen," the old leader hissed, her shadow looming over her daughter.
It was then that Shetani looked up, but she glanced bravely up at her mother, defiant and unwavering. "Why? What did I do now?"
"Slipping away from your advisors?" Chiku began, her hands glued to her sides. "Running into trouble and bringing a strange male so close to the village? Have I taught you nothing, Shetani?"
Now the matriarch sat up. "He saved my life and I couldn't walk back on my own. I wouldn't attack someone who had just saved me," she growled.
"But there are other guards, not a male-"
"And he was more prompt than all of them!"
And with that, the mother was silenced. Chiku bit her lip but the anger only deepened her features. Trying to regain her words, she hissed, "Don't think we won't discuss this later. For now, stay here until I return. And don't bother your sister." Only because she, maybe, didn't know her oldest snuck out at times. And with that, the older woman left their home, leaving Shetani to lay back again, playing with the beads absentmindedly, wondering if there was a way she could fix them.

Imani had come to somewhere she called home. Skidding to a stop, she watched her mother leave the hut. Fear shrilled up her spine. Like a snake, she slipped back to her room. Once inside, she blindly went to run to Shetani, but she froze. "What's the problem?" This voice made Imani wince. She glanced up to see her mind's own version of a great Almasi warrior. At least she was female.
Imani motioned for her to be quiet--but there was no need. No one else could hear her. She slipped from her room and went to find her younger half-sister, but her body began to shake. When she walked into the same room as her sister, she froze. Perhaps she should go back. That would make things easier. Who wants to talk to someone crazy anyways?
"Shetani," her voice came quiet and frail. Shakily, she wondered if this was Shetani at all or if she was another figment of her imagination. Even if she didn't think so, the doubt was only there. Her beads shook, and she walked closer to Shetani, going down on her knees and crawling closer to Shetani. "Chief, are you alright?" Her voice shook, and her whole body began shaking too, making her beads give a steady rhythm. Now it was time for the excuses. "I-I heard you got hurt and I feared it was severe, I heard terrible things, Shetani, is it true?" She winced at using her sister's name. "Ch-Chief," Imani tried to amend.
