Aaron sighed through his nose, and pushed himself away from Chase, if he could, to shift a bit closer to Nate. He reached out to wrap his hand around the kid's and he shot Chase an annoyed glance. "No, this seizure was caused by you dumbfucks-"
"Don't talk to Chase that way," Seth snapped. He was still there? Yes. He shifted his feet and glared down at Aaron. "I would watch your mouth, dipshit. There's a really angry father around here, and I'm certain you wouldn't want to be left alone with him."
Refusing to show any fear, Aaron gave Seth a bored glance. He turned his gaze back towards Chase. "As I was saying, Nate has never had a seizure before. But he's been through a lot shit that frankly a kid his age should never go through. He's been stabbed in the fucking eye, raped, and who knows what else, seeing as he was a slave. He's an anigma." Aaron's eyes flickered towards him. "He deserves better than this shit."

Well, thank you, Aaron. I'm sure Chase, Seth, and anyone else who was listening wanted to hear about all the horrible stuff the poor child went through. chase asked for Nate's medical history, not his life story. Oh well. Chase, like anyone with the normal capacity to, felt all of sympathy and pity for the small child. Anigma? What if that had been Jeremiah, or Zachariah? He would want to be by their side too, just like Aaron was. "He probably does," Chase finally said with a shrug. "But if he's never had a seizure before.. I've never heard of them being caused by stress before." His yellow gaze flickered over to Rylan or Seth, whoever was paying more attention at the moment. "Do either of you have a jacket with you or.. anything? Just something as a pillow for the kid so he's not laying on the ground."

Seth paused for a second before he slipped off his jacket and crouched down beside the kid. He carefully propped up Nate's head and placed it underneath him. With a small groan, Aaron shifted to pull off his own jacket, tossing it to Rylan. "Put it over him, give him something familiar to wake up to. I don't want him to freak out again--but he will. So just... back off when he wakes up." Aaron's face softened and he squeezed Nate's hand.
A short little malaki came rushing back to them. He held a water bottle and a bottle of pills. "For infection," Scott said breathlessly, handing both to him. "You should be fine, but I would like to keep an eye on you."
"Thank you," Aaron said, and hesitated. "I got mugged, so I don't have any money. But after I cancel credit cards, I can-"
"No," Scott shook his head. "You're not paying me for this. Not after Seth broke your nose. And your son went into seizure." He shot a pointed look towards Rylan and Seth. "I just..." He shifted around, looking for Kenneth or someone with authority. His eyes shifted to Chase. "What do we do with him?"
"We're not keeping him," Rylan said, just as Seth muttered, "Perfect idea, keep the bastard that would slit all our throats."

"We can't just leave them here," Chase glowered at the two. "It wouldn't make sense for Scott to take care of them then send them on their way. Aaron needs to be treated if he gets an infection. And there's a statistical increase for a second seizure after the first in Nate's case." Since Aaron had pulled away, Chase stood. "I'm not saying either of you have to like it. And I'm not saying they have to stay with us forever." They certainly had enough people. "But it would be better for them to stick around just until Scott is sure they're both alright."

Aaron remained quiet and looked at everyone around him. The group that he had basically brought through all hell now was willing to house him until he and Nate were alright. His skin prickled with uncertainty. No group would be that stupid, would it? His eyes flickered up towards Chase, then over to Scott, before his eyes landed on Rylan.
"He's confused and angry," Rylan said, frowning. "I'm not sure if we should-"
"We're taking them in. Sam!" Scott turned and cupped his hands over his mouth, "Sam! Konrad!"

A sigh left Aaron. Canceling credit cards were such a pain in the ass. He had even ordered new IDs, not that he generally needed any of it. He sat in the hotel room, door left ajar in case Scott would want to run back in and check on him. Sat on the bed, perhaps, with Nate somewhere in the room.
On the other side of the hall, was two curious little cubs. Jeremiah pulled the edge of Chase's sleeve, watching him with wide curious eyes. "Can we... can we go visit them?" His brows came together. "He's an anigma, right? Can we just... see him? Maybe? He's our age, right?"

In the time it had taken them to find a hotel and settle down, Nate had probably woken up at some point, tired and disoriented. But his senses had cleared and the small anigma found himself curled up under the covers of one of the beds. Every now and then, he would peak up from under his cover to see if Aaron was still there. He was quiet, as he usually was. But, Nate was calmer now as they were in a safe room together. Nate hadn't bothered asking what happened earlier, why he couldn't remember the trip here, though exhaustion still clung tightly to him.
"I'm not sure if Aaron is in the mood for visitors," Chase said to the little twin, leaning back in the chair he was maybe sitting in. "And Nate might need a little more time to recover." He couldn't resist the urge to maybe tousle Jeremiah's hair. The anigma was adorable. "He's also.. a bit shy." Was that the best way to put it? "But I guess I can see later if Aaron will let you meet him." He figured meeting a kid their own age, someone new, would be good for the twins. Maybe, it would be good for Nate too.

Since he and Nate were probably on the same bed, Aaron leaned to lay down, stretching out towards his Nate. "Hey there, little guy." He reached out, gently rubbing the bump that was his son's head. "How are you feeling?" Worry filled his eyes. "You know, we're all safe now. Super safe. And I'm all fixed up, too. So you don't have to worry." His eyes sorrowed and quietly and he whispered, "I am so sorry, Nate. I really am."
"Later? But later, they might be sleeping! Please, Chase?" Jeremiah whined, crawling onto his lap. "Pretty please? Please?" He used his big baby teals, widening them as he glanced up at Chase. "I'll... I'll take a bath later. And I wont jump out halfway through."
"Jem, we can just go without them," Zachariah sighed by the doorway, staring at the door. "What are they going to do? Ground us?"
"I'll throw both of you into a Jacuzzi if you go visit that... man," Seth muttered tiredly from the bed, little Milo asleep and drooling on his chest.

With Aaron closer now, Nate found the courage to crawl out from under his fortress and tried to rest against Aaron. He let out a tired relieved sigh as he tried lulling his head against Aaron. "I-I'm sorry," he squeaked in a meek voice. "I-I'm sorry. I.. I d-didn't run. I-I panicked and y-you could have g-gotten killed. A-all because I-I.." Got to scared. As usual. But it was that man.. The one who stabbed him. The poor boy shut his eyes tightly at the memory of poor Hiro's face. And he started to shake again.
"Hot tubs are far dirtier than these two already are," Chase said as he sat his book down. One that he had probably already read through. One bad thing about being on the road constantly is that there was no way to get new reading material, unless he kept buying books. Which there was no adequate storage for. Maybe he should ask to borrow Alec's iPad. He tried to stand, gently trying to usher Jeremiah away from him. "Alright, fine. Let's go see if Aaron even wants any visitors."

A soft breath left Aaron and his brows come together. "No, you did great Nate. You were so amazing, I was so proud of you. Thank you, for doing as much as you did. You're my little hero." He pressed his nose against the top of Nate's head and closed his eyes. "You did great. Thank you." He felt a stupid need to cry, so he took in a small breath and gently wrapped his arms around his little Nate. "But I was terrified, Nate. You scared me," he whispered. "I don't want anything to happen to you again, so we're going to have to be a bit smarter."
Seth's lips turned into a deep frown and he shot Chase a glance. "Are you stupid? He's dangerous. He kill you, no problem-"
"Yeah. He'll kill Chase and set every single one of us after him to tear out his throat. Sounds like a good idea," Zachariah said, sharply.
"Sass, man," Seth jabbed a finger at him. "If you don't reel it in, I'll spank you."
"Kinky," Zach snapped, and slipped from the room.
"I'm twisting his ear, spanking him, and bringing him to Scott for a check-up," Seth grumbled.

Nate tried lulling himself completely against Aaron as he felt himself relax. His shaking stopped and he took in a deep breath as he tried nuzzling his head against his adopted father. "I-I d-don't remember w-what happened," the boy said quietly, honestly, because he really couldn't. What had Nate done that scared Aaron so much? Regardless, Aaron should feel proud about being the only person in the world who could get Nate to relax and calm down. Maybe, for extra cuteness, the little boy started to knead Aaron's shirt because it was a gesture that comforted him.
Chase flashed a smirk towards his brother. "Seth, I can't help but think he gets a lot of it from you. You're just a bad influence." And whether or not Seth liked it, Chase made his way towards the door. As the door opened, he turned back towards Seth. "If anything happens, I'll have two tiger cubs who will gnaw him to death." Except little Zach probably had a much meaner bite than Jeremiah. Anyway, Chase didn't wait to hear his brother's reply as he stepped out into the hall.
