The growl of distant thunder drummed against his ears. His grey eyes darted up to the sky searching for the clouds laden with rain. He winced, feeling his skin pull at an awkward angle. His labored breath caught and he felt his body slam against the ground. Pain shot up his leg, enveloping his whole body in flames.
He felt his partner beside him, nudging his side. A whine escaped her as she pawed at him. The wolf moved away, hearing something in the distance. A moment of silence then the sound of paws pounding against the earth drew near. His partner nudged him more urgently.
The boy groaned, pushing himself to his feet. "I'm trying Lyra, I'm trying." He repeated the phrase to the wolf as he struggled to his feet. Though it was more for himself than his partner. The sound of more paws against the earth hit his ears and he struggled even more. His body exploded around him and he felt his own paws hit the earth. Adrenaline kept the pain at bay but his muscles screamed for oxygen. He couldn't stop, not know. To stop meant certain death.
But as the next clap of through rolled, the teen knew trouble was upon him. His wild grey eyes darted to either side of him seeing only flashes of grey and brown through the bushes. He felt his feet leave the ground once more as a weight knocked him off his blind path. Teeth closed around his kicking hind legs. He felt the ankle twist at an awkward angle and cried out. Mad with pain, he lunged at the other wolf's throat and sank his teeth into the windpipe. The wolf struggled with him, releasing his leg in the process. He felt the body being shoved away as the shadow of his partner fell over him.
Lightning flashed and both he and his partner were off again, just at the rain began to fall. The shadow of a building loomed ahead of them and they dove inside. The savage barking of the wolves died away as they moved off in a different direction. With teeth grinding the teen shrank back to his human self. He slumped over feeling warmth seeping into his clothes.

[[Shh it;s fine]]
Thankfully, the boy was given some time to rest before the sound of footsteps stepped into the warehouse, accompanied by blinding flashlights. "Do we have to do this now?"
"Yes, now. These need to go out tonight." The man heard a sigh from the guards as they began to flood in, flashlights revealing the crates of cargo. "Get this all checked out, I want to be home as soon as possible."
"Yes, sir!" The man watched his guards secure and inspect the crates of cargo as he crossed his arms. He glanced back outside, to the girl waiting with her two maids holding umbrellas. He tried to get her out of that mansion as much as she could, even if it meant bringing her on these excursions. As son of the CEO, he was expected to do everything for his old man anyway.
One of the guards began looming around the perimeter, but stopped when his flashlight shone on something. "Sir Einmell, I might have found something!"

The teen groaned shielding his eyes from the sudden light. He could barely make out the shadow behind the light. Panic seized his muscles and he backed up, though he cried out as more pain flared in his already screaming legs. He felt his back slam against the wall of the building. His heart hammered against his chest, threatening to leap out of his chest. "Please! I'm so far out of your territory I wouldn't even be worth killing! Just go home already!"
Lyra growled beside him, feeling her hackles raise. Though she was much too exhausted and bruised to attack she wouldn't hesitate to sink her teeth into the man's neck should he choose to come closer.
He felt his breathing even a bit when he realized the man was not who he thought he was. He raised a bloodied hand from his thigh, blocking the light from the flashlight. "Where..." His raw voice cracked from the strain. He cleared his throat, making sure he could be heard. "Where am I?"

The guard flashed his light on Ulric, immediately gasping upon seeing the bloodied boy. "Sir Einmell! We have a boy here! He's injured!" More footsteps emerged and more flashlights were shown on Ulric and Lyra. "There's a wolf there too! What should we do?"
"Out of the way." Lionel broke up the crowd and knelt down to the boy's level. It was obvious that he was the leader at this point. "So, you got lost, did you? You and your little puppy?" He sighed. "This is a warehouse owned by the Einmell Company. I don't want you bleeding all over our stock now." He stood up, playing with his cuffs. "Eh, he's no threat in this state. Just grab him and kick him out."
He started to walk away from him as the guards all looked to each other before one started to kneel down to him.

Ulric struggled closer to Lyra as he heard more footsteps. If it had not been for his frayed nerves he would have welcomed the sight of the others. Well, at least more so that the faces of the wolves that had attacked him.
He flinched away from the hard gaze of their leader. His nose wrinkled in discomfort. It was bad enough his thigh felt like it was on fire, but now he had to sit there and be talked down to. It bruised his already sore ego. He bit back a snarky remark, he certainly wasn't in the mood for any more action nor was he keen on getting into more trouble to punching this guy.
He sighed, thoroughly annoyed. Now his ego matched his current physical state, bruised and pathetic. With immense effort he leaned heavily against the wall, using it as support so he could stand. He gritted his teeth and pushed off of the wall. Had it not been for Lyra he would have crashed to the ground. He glared at the guards. "Don't worry, I'm moving." He huffed indignantly and began to limp heavily toward the exit. Blood dripped off the end of his pants as he went.

Lionel's paranoia got the better of him. "Wait!" The guards surrounded Ulric, pointing weapons at him. "Someone make sure he hasn't stolen anything."
"Lionel!" a female voice rang. A girl soon walked in, accompanied by two maids. Her white hair was up in an intricate bun hairstyle as jewelry hung from her ears and around her neck. Her long dress was a bluish color, not too formal, but definitely one of quality. "What's wrong? Are you threatening a young boy like him?"
"Looks can deceive. Besides, I told you to wait outside-"
"In the rain?" she asked with a sigh. "Step aside all of you...please." The girl broke the circle around him as Lionel cursed under his breath. "You're hurt...I didn't realize that." She glared at her brother. "Who did this to you? Did my guards do this?"

Had he not been preoccupied with the pain in his leg he would have run off, leaving the guards to chase after him. But instead here he was being harassed and bleeding heavily. He grit his teeth, pushing himself up as high as he could. "Seriously, man? You think with all this time I've had to bleed all over this crap I would steal something!? I don't even know what's in here! Heck, I barely even knew this place was occupied!"
Ulric paused mid-rant when he heard a new voice. He sighed mentally preparing himself for another shakedown. If it was going to be like this he'd rather take his chances with the crazy pack that had chased him into this building. He stumbled feeling his strength fail him. He knelt beside his partner, not having any strength to even stand.
He glanced up at the girl who entered, pausing to stare at her beauty. He watched her closely as she approached, almost missing her question. He eased himself back onto the floor, feeling Lyra lay beside him. "No, no, they didn't do this. I..uh- well as for who did it...that's kind of a long story."

The girl sucked on teeth before standing upright and looking to her maids. "Take him," she said. "I'm bringing him back for proper treatment."
"Sister!" She looked to an enraged Lionel. "Just throw him out, he'll be fine. If he's idiotic enough to get himself hurt, then he can find a way to heal himself,"
"Absurd! He needs help! You don't have to help him, but I will." Her maids curtsied and stepped up to the boy. He probably wouldn't find out, but these maids had seen worse injuries. They had no qualm picking him up and bloodying their own clothes.
"One night," he growled as he snapped his fingers. "That's it." The guards went back to work. "Liane, Diane, make sure she reaches the estate." The maids nodded.

Ulric felt his cheeks burn. "You, really don't have to do that...um Miss. You're brother doesn't seem to want me here and I'm sure I'm just in the way." He winced feeling his skin pull awkwardly again. As much as he wanted the medical attention he was sure he didn't want to receive it here. He knew for sure he'd be treated like an animal.
Lyra growled at the maids as they drew nearer. She felt her own strength failing her, but she wasn't about to let on to her condition. She had just begun to stand when she felt Ulric touch her side.
"Easy girl, they're friendly. Or at least, the maids are." He eased himself up into position to stand. He paused, awkwardly shifting his dislocated ankle. As he pushed himself up he felt his other thigh scream in protest and a fresh river of blood began to run down his leg. For a moment the whole world bucked beneath him and he swayed on his feet. He reached out, hoping to catch the shoulder of a maid before he toppled over again.

The maids caught him, though they may have causes some pain with their grip. The girl looked at Ulric hopefully. "He's always like that," she said. "I'm terribly sorry, let me make it up to you." She looked down at the pet wolf and stepped back.
"I promise I won't hurt him," she told it. "If I do, then you have the right to hurt me back."
"My lady, let's get him back quickly."
"Yes, or else he may bleed out and faint." Lily nodded and snapped her fingers. "I need two guards to escort us back." Two of them were at her command and they held out umbrellas as they stepped onto the rain. "It'll be fine," she said looking to him. "I promise."
